I enjoyed their pumpkin soft serve ice cream. It was creamy, rich and delicious. There was always a line when we visited.

Nothing has changed! Still the great ice cream parlor I remember as a kid. When you come visit Winnipeg in the summer, for whatever reason, this is a mandatory stopby.

Another one of those Winnipeg institutions — we all remember Sargent Sundae from our childhood. It’s situated in a great location, just over the walking bridge from Assiniboine Park. A lovely stop after a fun day at the park, especially if it’s a hot day. There’s lots of outdoor seating around and the shop with lots of seating in the shade. It’s a busy spot when the temps are high so waits can be long — but it’s worth it. I love that they have kid sized sundaes — it was the perfect size for my niece. The kid size strawberry sundae had tons of fresh strawberries in there and at about $ 2, it was a great price too! I really enjoyed the cookies and cream hard ice cream. The cookies in there tasted like the soft cookie base to an ice cream sandwich — love that! The ice cream tasted really rich and decadent so one scoop is more than enough for me. It’s a lovely treat on a hot day! Oh and remember, it’s CASH only!
