We purchase our ingredients from suppliers that share our commitment to quality food. Fresh fish is served the same day it is caught, robust 100% grass-​fed beef, bison, and elk are sourced from reputable local producers, and foragers comb the Manitoba wildlands to provide us with morel mushrooms, berries, and more from the Boreal forest Organic wild rice, produce and pulses are carefully prepared to create wholesome vegan options. Chef Lorna Murdoch creates a stunning array of creative shared plates and entrees using all of these ingredients and more!

The all-​Canadian, Cuvee Award winning wine list includes rare and highly prized labels. Owner Scot McTaggart has an intimate and extensive knowledge of the B.C. and Ontario wine regions. The bar also features unique culinary cocktails with all your favorite international spirits and an always fresh selection of local craft beer! Guests are guided by friendly, knowledgeable service people in a dining room set with white linens, Riedel crystal, and a gallery of paintings by local artist, Kirstin Britt-​Hansen.

History

Established in 2011.

In 2011, fusion grill was listed as one of «Canada’s Top 10 Restaurants» in the Globe and Mail. The National Post calls fusion grill Winnipeg’s «Best Place to Eat.» Owner Scot McTaggart is most proud of his Edna Award, presented by Cuisine Canada in 2006, «Recognizing Lifetime Achievement in the Canadian Culinary Landscape.» In February 2015, the Manitoba Food Producers Association honoured fusion grill with a TASTE Award for 2015 Local Favourite Restaurant.

Business Owner

Scot McTaggart is an entrepreneur motivated by challenge with over 30 years’ experience in a variety of positions in restaurants, hotels, nightclubs and cabarets. Scot is enjoying two decades of his award winning restaurant creation. His passion for sourcing the best fresh local Manitoba ingredients and Canadian wines is unparalleled. He loves to share stories with patrons, describing where their food comes from and why it’s better. He is a champion of the Canadian wine industry and is personally responsible for converting hundreds if not thousands of wine lovers.
