Cocoabeans Bakeshop is a dedicated gluten-​free bakery.

Our speciality is bread, buns, cake, muffins and cookies. Most of our items are dairy-​free and we have some vegan options as well.

History

Established in 2000.

When all three of my kids and myself were diagnosed with celiac disease we were disgusted with the food selection at the time. It tasted like cardboard or a mouthful of cornstarch YUCK!

I was determined to eat good food that tasted great! I taught myself how to bake gluten-​free by reading cookbooks cover to cover, watching youtube and by trial and error.

Eventually things started to work out. They tasted really good and wondered if there was a market for this kind of thing. I spent a summer going to farmer’s markets, gathering feedback and trying to improve my product.

Through a bucket load of handwork and determination — I opened a bricks and motor store at 268 Tache. With much fear and trepidation I wondered if my little business would survive the first year. It did!

On December 1, 2015 it will be our 3rd anniversary.

Tired of sitting at a desk — Betsy decided it was time to break free from the same old same old everyday and open a bakery. Why not? How hard can it be?

Full of passion and fire in her heart — she opened her first bakery ever in 2012.

Providing yummy food for celiacs, people with food sensitivities and those just choosing to eat healthier.

Every Cocoabeans customer is like a guest in my shop. My goal is to help make your day just a bit brighter with yummy food.
