Vito’s has a friendly, quick waitstaff and a pretty dining area… and that’s pretty much where my positive review ends. The food, prices, portion sizes, patrons and lack of convenience were all severely disappointing. I had a taste for bolognese so I ordered from their takeout menu about a week ago. The prices were really steep but they were open later and had glowing reviews so I ordered from them. I also ordered a brownie cheesecake slice. Both were complete let-downs. The portion sizes are… miniature at best for the outrageous price and the bolognese was tasteless. My «dinner» sized portion of bolognese was barely enough to fill me — a small woman — but the cost of it mirrored those of Beverly Hills prices and there was nothing to keep as leftovers. I was still hungry after having finished it; and I don’t eat very much. Even in Beverly Hills you have leftovers! And the prices are the same! Joking aside the food was… mediocre at very best rescued only out of negative star status by the flavor and text the of the cheesecake(which wouldn’t have filled my 4 year old). After traipsing out in the rain and traveling roundtrip, opening my food, seeing and tasting it the only thing I could think was«I want a refund but I’m hungry so I’ll eat it». The cheesecake slice was the single redeeming item but it was a literal sliver that came in a massive takeout container. For nearly $ 8CA, the slice could have been 2x the size and it still would have been steep. Really disappointed by the cheesecake portion size. It was worth maybe…$ 2.50? It’s kind of an issue that Vito’s isn’t listed with any of the on-demand takeout services like Grubhub and doesn’t do personal delivery because I had to travel roundtrip from my place on the other side of town to pick it up and I did so because of the positive reviews and it was ultimately a big waste of time and money especially when I walked into the restaurant only to be stared at by the leering & pretentious crowd dining there. It was an incredibly uncomfortable experience as several people stared at me without breaks the entire time I waited for my food. They were unwelcoming and seemingly prejudiced. Overall it was a disappointing experience with more effort than the food was worth and I won’t be returning because of: 1. The food quality * 1 star 2. Portion sizes * 1 star 3. The prices * –1 star 4. The patrons * 1 star 5. The general inconvenience * 1 star

I think this Italian restaurant is the closest you can get to authentic Italian. Everything was delicious(pizza, tuna and calamari was hands down the best). It’s super beautiful and romantic inside ! Fabulous service

Excellent food. Excellent friendly staff. Great casual atmosphere. Oysters and salad for apps. Prime rib n lasagna for mains. Two glasses of wine n two Heinekens for $ 121(plus tip). Very reasonable. Love this place.

Brought my colleagues in and my 8 year old son. Wait staff was using profanity loudly. I asked to see a manager and after 15 minutes of no service. All 8 of us got up and left.

This restaurant has always been my favorite place to visit because of the delicious food and atmosphere. Living in Michigan, it’s usually definitely worth the drive. I’m hoping this last experience was just an «off-night,» but the kitchen was tremendously slow(half-full restaurant) and there were about three fruit flies circling our table of six for the entire dinner. Annoying and disgusting! Every few minutes we were swatting the flies out of our faces, dinner, and drinks. Please fix this problem. It sounds so small, but has truly brought this restaurant from an «A» to a «C.»

Second time at this little pizzeria. Really great place… nice service, good food, affordable. It’s quite nice and I’d recommend it for sure.

Pizza is good, but not the best. Pasta Carbonara was to die for. Get that.

Cute lil spot in Walkerville. There’s an adorable cozy booth to your left as you walk in. Service was good. Food is nice. Wood oven cooked pizza was on point. Got a funghi/egg za. Arancini balls were huge! Pretty good. Not mind-blowing. Stuffed with peas and rice. Overall pretty nice.

Pizzas never disappoint. Soups are not the best. Salads are big and can substitute less healthy choices as a meal. Waiters are super nice. This is for sure one of my favourite places in Windsor.

Beautiful pizzeria, we had so much fun here on date night. The calamari is so succulent, fried to perfection. The fruity tasting beer called stiegl radler is seriously the best beer I ever had and I am a beer girl. The service was good, we arrived near closing time and the waiter made sure we got our food order in. We over stayed our welcome and will definitely come back.

We came here for a family lunch and it was great! The service was amazing, attentive and very accommodating for our large group. The food was AMAZING. We had to wait a while for all the dishes to arrive, but it was well worth it. The portions were huge(I don’t think anyone was able to finish their plate). The star of the show was the meatballs. They were the size of your fist and were melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Also, are perfect for sharing. Two meatballs can feed a family of four. Definitely a gem of a restaurant and serves the best Italian food in Windsor.

Poor posture. Made a reservation in person and was not honored by VITO himself. Spoke to the guy working there gave reservation details. voila a table. Vito is a Shi. $ 19 for appetizer plate: no olives, no bread, sausage meek, picked eggplant and canned peppers, water crackers; this is Italian? Salad Cucina: brown romain no pancetta, ¼ teaspoon gorgonzola, for $ 15? Pizza calabrase: pickled toppings not fresh. Too bad.

Ate here for the first time thanks to a gift certificate I received. We invited another couple to join us because we thought the 2 of us wouldn’t be able to use up $ 100. I couldn’t be more wrong. The food and service was above average. I felt our server should have mentioned the price of the specials. If you’re curious, Sea Bass is $ 35 and Lamb Chops is $ 33; for those prices, I would expect a small salad to accompany it. I had lasagne and it was just ok, nothing spectacular. Reservations are recommended and there is free parking in the lot across the street

I went here for my company’s Christmas party, and the food was pretty decent. The wait staff was polite and attentive, although a little generous refilling everyone’s wine classes without asking them first. Overall, I’d come back again, but I never got to try any pizza.

Just ate at this little gem. Ambiance was great, service friendly but the real talk is the pizza. I created my own with hot peppers, soppresata, homemade italian sausage and mushrooms… amazing…last bite tasted just as good as the first… highly recommended!

First time eating here and it was amazing to say the least! It was a little wait to get a table at lunch time but the hostess was extremely friendly and gave us water in the meantime. I ordered the Salmone pizza, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. Prices are excellent for the quality and portions you get. Will be returning for sure!

Nice place, wood fired pizza ovens always make a great atmosphere. I had the semplice pizza and it was pretty good with a few complaints when compared to what you see in Italy or a really hooked up Italian place outside of Italy. Okay, so they don’t use the soft buffalo mozzarella or salame picante, but let me say it is still a great pizza. The price is awesome for what you get and if they tried to get too authentic then the price would go up significantly. My wife is Italian and she had the tortellini and meatball soup and said it was just like she remembered in Sicily. All the prices are good here and the service was great. We were just in town for a day but would come again if we could.

Another great little place in Walkerville. The pizza and pasta are done right. Must try’s are their calamari and rice balls. The place is small with an upstairs area for large groups so reservations are recommended. Service is often good but the last time I came for a business lunch with a large group(outside of the busy lunch hour) our service was terrible as the server seemed to have already checked out. Though this isn’t the norm, I’d be hesitant to return with more than 4 in my party.

Vito’s is quite good. It was booming, in fact, in the evening on Canada Day. It is located in the heart of Walkerville which seems to be an up and coming area. You can park in the lot across the street on Wyandotte for free, or you can park at the meters on the street. The whole area lends itself to window shopping and ambling. The ambiance is sort of stylish, but still very relaxed. We had a nice spot at a two-top/booth, and each table has a little candle. The mista salad was what you expect a mista salad to be. It is enough to share for 2 – 3 people. The dressing is a creamy, sort of balsamic concoction, which is good, but I think you ought to get it on the side. The pizza appears to be the main draw. The Palermo pizza is very tasty, with kalamata tapanade, goat cheese, and truffle oil. Lordy. The truffle oil is just sublime. The only downsides I think were the coke was completely uncarbonated, and the prices are a little high for good Italian. But, the food is tasty(which is the most important thing), and I’d definitely return to try some other pizzas and pastas. Service was great, and even the washrooms were impressive.
