One of the better Chinese restaurants in Windsor. Most if not all people that come here come for large group gathering meals based on my visit. The service started off pretty poorly as I had to approach the front desk directly just to get menus, but the wait staff became more attentive later in the meal as we interacted with them more. The Lobster with Ginger & Green Onion was my favorite dish we ordered. The flavor was light, but not in the way that it was lacking. Crispy exterior of the lobster made you want to eat the whole thing! Only con would be the size. It’s on the smaller side, so you definitely want to order a couple other dishes with it. Another thing we tried was the honey walnut shrimp with mayo. If you’re a fan of mayo, go for it! But I thought the mayo was way too heavy for the dish. Ended up having to wipe off most of it before eating it. I think it would’ve tasted amazing without any of the mayo actually.

Went here for CNY. I don’t think I can name all the dishes properly so forgive me! We had their fish(my parents translated it it’s like their fish of the day or something other), honey walnut shrimp, lobster, bokchoy and mushrooms, fried duck?, sweet and sour ribs, bird’s nest, shrimp fried rice

This was my first visit to New Kirin and everything was excellent. The dining room is clean, well lit and the staff were very friendly. We started with two pork spring rolls and an order of pan fried pork dumplings. The spring roll was delicious but not anything revolutionary. There were four good sized dumplings pre order and served with a soy-garlic dipping sauce. The dumplings were cooked perfectly, slightly crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The main course was pan fried shrimp with pea pods in a Szechuan sauce and an order of vegetable chop suey with crispy chow mein on top. Everything was perfectly cooked, the shrimp was juicy and the vegetables were crunchy. We also had some green tea and our bill came to less than $ 30! This is the best Chinese restaurant in Windsor.

One of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in Windsor. I think their food is even better than May Wah’s I am taking one star off because I think they can do a better job on cleanliness. The restrooms aren’t very clean. Boxes and boxes of stuff laying along the hallway into the restrooms. The ventilation also not very well, excessive smoke and smell coming out from the Kitchen into the dining room.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for years now. I’ve been there for wedding receptions, dinner with family/friends, and ordered take-out once. I have to say — their Beef Stew Pot(in Vietnamese it’s pronounced«Bo Kho») ISTHEBESTINTHEENTIRECITY — RECOMMENDED. However — One small criticism is their food portions. It’s a bit too small.

I’ve been here a few times with my relatives and this place is great for chinese! Dinner last night: We started off the dinner with Fish Maw soup! Great flavour and nice bits of crab and fish in the soup! Then we ordered a tofu with fish fillets over veg! This was great! Fish was deep fried but it didn’t taste oily at all. Actually a nice light dish. We also ate Cantonese Chow mein and seafood with Gai lan. The SF with Gai lan had more Gai lan than seafood but this is usually the case! The highlight dish was lobster cooked cooked with ginger. The lobster was a bit on the smaller side(1lb or so). Great food with flavour and texture!

HUGE fan of New Kirin Eatery! New Kirin Eatery is located in a sketchy looking shopping plaza that looks pretty dead all around. But this place isn’t phased by the rotten apples around it. This Chinese food joint offers up some good Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine. The food is stellar with a variety of differing menu items that are uncommon at other Chinese places. The service is great and the place is very clean and very nice looking. We arrived pretty hungry. We made an order of Fried Shrimp Dumplings(4 for $ 3.50), Eggplant with Garlic sauce, and Braised Duck with Assorted Meats and Seafood. It all came with rice and a complimentary large bowl of soup. The soup was this chicken and rice soup. It was rice and steamed chicken in a chicken broth that was very good. The Fried Shrimp dumplings arrived and looked pretty much like crab rangoon. I thought we might have messed the order up. But when you take a bite into that crunchy dumpling, you could tell it was all shrimp. It was crispy on the outside and very meaty on the inside. The shrimp was great and it came with a bowl of sweet and sour sauce for dipping. The Eggplant with Garlic Sauce was fantastic! It was the best eggplant dish I’ve ordered at a Chinese restaurant ever. The eggplant was freshly cut and was cooked to perfection. The skin was crisp and firm while the«meat» of the eggplant was soft but not mushy. It was nice not to have to deal with mushy eggplant. The minced pork and the garlic sauce really made this dish enjoyable from the first bite to the last. The Braised Duck with Assorted Meats and Seafood was a plethora of good eats on one dish. There was chicken, pork, squid, shrimp, and scallops all piled onto about a Half Duck. The Duck was a bit moist but was very tender. It was nice to get a duck that wasn’t all bone and had a good amount of meat on it. The other things were wonderful and complemented the duck very well. The shrimp and squid were a bit chewy, but it was nice to get some seafood to go with the main event, which was the duck. The sauce that was used is so good, you need to pour some on your rice. Overall, a wonderful place. I have to say, I only came here once so I’m hoping this wasn’t a fluke. I’ll definitely be making return visits and I hope they’re as good as this first time.
