So impressed. I am visiting Windsor and googled chinese food. I ordered in from Jade’s and it was great, cheap and delivered quickly.

I enjoyed lunch at Jade Chinese. The dim sum was very good and the service was excellent. It was a week day so I ordered off the menu instead of the traditional food carts. The shrimp dumplings were my favorite. The Chinese lunch specials looked great too. I’ll be back.

We tried going to May Wah Inn for Dim Sum but as expected with a great place, it is packed, so our backup is Jade. Jade really isn’t a backup and is a great first option for weekend Dim Sum or Chinese food in general. We were able to get seated right away and well… let the games begin. They have carts of food being wheeled around and employees carrying trays. Everything looks great. We opt for a lighter day — Shumai(awesome), deep fried Octopus, shrimp rice wrap, shrimp balls, meatballs, sticky rice and egg custard tarts. At this point, I’m so full that I have to pass on the spicy green beans, bbq pork buns, and spicy shrimp. This is only my 2nd visit but I love everything about this place. Staff are great, food is top notch, and we can almost always get a seat. Very close to the casino.

Probably the best place in Southwestern Ontario(actually west of GTA) and also Detroit metropolitan area to get dim sum. It is available every day. On weekdays, you order off a menu. Less variety but the advantage is you get your dim sum hot(instead of lukewarm because it has been circulating around the restaurant for hours). Also, much less busy… On Saturday and Sunday, the dim sum most people are used to — circulating carts, more variety and the place is usually packed. Often, you have to wait in line. Food is good. Only one other dim sum alternative in town(May Wah Inn) Restaurant is pretty clean for a Chinese restaurant. Washrooms aren’t bad and believe it or not they have free wifi. Small parking lot in front of restaurant. They have another lot across the street. Make sure you don’t have valuables in your car. This part of town is kinda sketchy and car was broken into during daylight hours!!!

Feeling the need to get out of the country for the day, I drove from MI to Windsor in little over 30 minutes. Then came a 30 minute wait to enter Canada. One hour… on a Saturday morning. What would the return be like? Nonetheless, a deliciousness stop along the way at the Jade refocused everything! The tiny eight car parking lot adjacent to the unimposing building fills quickly, so I parked two blocks away on a side street after reading very confusing Windsor parking restriction signs. No problem. Once inside the Jade, I felt transported back to Shanghai. Tables of varying sizes, lazy susans in the middle, quick prompt seating, great tea, and a dizzying array of carts and trays emerged from the kitchen. Within ten minutes, the table groaned with options: a tasty well seasoned congee, various shrimp wraps and dumplings, fried taro fritters, and chicken, pork and beef of all types appeared on little plates, all between 3 and 5 bucks a pop. Did I mention fried octopus, chicken feet and funky custards? What a meal. No MSG high either… good thing too, because the tunnel back to the states had backed up into Windsor. Yep. It took 30 minutes to edge through the underwater tube, then another 30 minutes for eleven cars to make it through US customs. An hour. So, gang, next time I feel the need to escape into dim sum land, I will check the reports at the crossings, and perhaps head to the Jade mid-week. Dim sum is served everyday from 11−1ish. The owners are friendly and check with you about how you like everything. The kids serving have varying English abilities. If you have any allergies, as one member in my party does(gluten intolerance) it’s best for you to research the ingredients online before snatching the plates off the trays and carts. I will return… though not on a Saturday!

The GF has been bugging me for quite sometime to go out in Windsor and get Chinese food. Many many times we almost made the trek over the bridge at 2 am to get our eat on, but hesitated as were weren’t exactly sure of were to go, I think we found our place, open till 4 am on the weekends so the trip can easily be made from the D or even RO after a night of partying. Food was great, hours are a plus and service was so so, but for late night eats who cares. I see me going here again and again, chicken fried rice and sesame balls for me, chicken feet and kongee(sp) for the little lady. Don’t forget to get some liquor at duty free on the way back, 3 liter bottles of absolute for $ 45…

Good variety of dim sum and really good service. Nice variety of dim sum you don’t see everywhere. Service was very courteous as well. I think the trick with dim sum is to wait until they’re bringing the new carts out, that way everything is hot and fresh.

Good spicy pork chops. Love the soups(especially the chicken and corn soup) and the dim sum. However, I did find all the food to be quite heavy so I suspect it is MSG loaded and can be greasy at times. I don’t care much for the interior either

When I dined at this restaurant in the summer of 2012 with my cousins during a family visit, I was not expecting much in terms of the flavour since there were not many Chinese restaurant in Windsor. Honestly, I found the food at this restaurant very flavourful, especially the dim sum during the lunch hours. The dim sum was well prepared and I had no complaint for each of the dim sum dishes. The atmosphere and ambiance in this restaurant can be updated just a little bit to keep with the changing trends in the current design of modern Chinese restaurants. The prices were very reasonable and I will definitely be back for a visit the next time I visit my family members in Windsor.

Today was the first time in some 8 years since I ate at Jade Chinese Cuisine. I went there to eat their dum sum. Unfortunately I left the restaurant half full. The dishes were rather cold and seemed to had been sitting in the back room for some time. Nothing came out piping hot and/or fresh — it was all cold. Most of their dishes were flavourless. Some good things about this restaurant include the seating size(great for Asian wedding receptions as all tables are in one room), it’s cheaper, and there’s no long waiting line. Staff were all attentive. I didn’t even have to call over for a re-fill of my water. In summary, I recommend May Wah Inn over this restaurant.

Just called the restaurant to place an order. 1st call was answered and disconnected. 2nd call was put on hold for over five minutes and then disconnected by them after the hold ended. 3rd call, immediately put on hold again. Very poor customer service Jade. I suppose you don’t want my business. Windsor is chock full of Chinese restaurants but unless your phone service changes you won’t receive my business again. Great won ton soup… if I could just order it! Lousy service Jade!

Deep fried oysters were super greasy and gross! Inside they were plump with an extra ordinate amount of green guts. Love oysters, had them before THISWASNOTTHEM. When I asked for them to be taken back, they refused & told me it was my fault, I «ordered» them. Well, based on my disappointment with the quality and the met with disgust with the service I will never be going here again. I also had the shumai and it was soggy with hard Un-identifiable bits. If there was a minus star rating I would have chosen that! Not happy, Flying Tiger on university much better option.

Easily the best dim sum I’ve ever had outside of Hong Kong. Don’t get here too early though. The chef doesn’t show up til 11am on weekends. So it means limited menu from 10am-11-ish.

I need to go here some day a) before 2 am and b) mildly sober. That said, I am coherent enough to say the place does a good job of delivering decent(but not great) food for a decent price. I probably WON’T make it here during the day, with other great options out there. But it’s nice to know Jade’s open late. :)

Great food and great service. THEFOOD Never had«Pea pod leaves’, and now I am a fan. They were simply done with minced garlic. The mixed seafood in black bean sauce and eggplant with bbq pork were both very competent. THESERVICE I did not catch the name of our server, but felt like an older sister was taking care of us. Very warm and friendly, and her suggestions were perfect for our group. THEATMOSPHERE Classic chinese restaurant vibe, lots of large round table with lazy susans… a must for the large chinese groups that frequent the place. SUMMARY We all agreed we will return and explore the rest of the menu.

My boyfriend’s family has a long history of going to Jade to order way too much Chinese food on special occasions. Ah, memories. As far as atmosphere, this place is the quintessential Chinese banquet-sized restaurant. If you‘ve been to one you know what I mean. But the food is good. Jade has the best hot and sour soup in Windsor now that King’s KTV is closed(RIP) and has always had a really dependable menu of good Chinese food. It’s our go-to for Chinese when we’re back home and when we decide to go for dim sum(they do carts on weekends, not waiter service for dim sum).

They bill themselves as having«authentic Chinese cuisine». I’m not qualified to comment on that, but the fact that they don’t specify the style of cuisine(Szechuan, Cantonese, etc.) raises a question. Nevertheless, I don’t care about sitting down to a plate of authenticity; I want tasty food. This singular focus comes in handy, since the décor is — oh, let’s go with«unchallenging.» No chance that you will feel underdressed here. I’ve only been for dim sum, which is offered all day long. The place is packed from the minute that they open, and most of the people are Asian. Not sure if they take reservations for dim sum but it would be worth investigating because you can easily wait twenty minutes or more for a table. Be sure to march right in and get the attention of a human to secure your place in line. Don’t stand in the lobby with everyone else, because everyone else has already got a number. The dim sum is standard. Same offerings as most other places, similar quality. Most of the dishes are $ 3-$ 4. Service is what you’d expect for dim sum. They have carts here, which is good because the food arrives quickly. Don’t be offended when the carts roll by without stopping if your table is made up of non-Asians — no doubt that this is borne of years of rejection of «weird foods», so they don’t even ask anymore. If you really want it, you can get their attention. A solid choice for dim sum.

Located in the sketchy downtown area of Windsor. Sunday dim sum is the best I’ve had in a long time. Ignore the boogaloos, they’re harmless, unless you get into a conversation with one of these street freaks. The focus my friends is the goodness of quality Chinese dim sum. Service is friendly, excellent variety, and prices reasonable… We ate really well for two and spent $ 27…

One of the few places to get Dim Sum in the city. Jade is located on Wyandotte a little west of Ouelette. The place looks kind of crappy on the outside with their giant neon sign that burns your drunken eyes at 3 in the morning, but the place is pretty nice on the inside. It basically looks like a former nightclub with their giant dance floor filled with tables of Asians eating food. They even have the bar in the corner making me think this really was a nightclub before they took it over. Now it’s a nice little restaurant that serves up dim sum items daily til 4 p.m. I’ve come here on a couple of occasions and was able to try new things with each visit. But there are always staple dim sum items you can’t leave without getting. First off, I’m allergic to shrimp and other shellfish, but that doesn’t stop me from stuffing my face with shrimp dumplings. Steamed shrimp dumplings are just addictive. Those little pieces of heaven are always plump and cooked perfectly at these dim sum places, and Jade is no exception. Obsession aside… Other items are pretty good too. Their chicken feet are incredible and there is a nice portion of it for a good price. The skin is always good and it’s tender and not chewy like other dim sum places might have. The steamed rice roll with shrimp is solid. That soy sauce/sugar mixture is good with anything. I usually get a plate just so I could use that sauce as a dipping sauce for my other items. The fried octopus is good, but tends to be a bit too chewy for my liking. The stuffed eggplant is great as the eggplant is tender on the inside and crispy on the outside with the right amount of sauce and a shrimp paste filling. Their chow mein noodles are real good because they are not greasy. I can’t stress enough how bad greasy chow mein noodles are and Jade avoids doing this. The turnip cake is good, but nothing special. Overall, the prices are real good for the dim sum menu. I haven’t tried their actual food, but if it’s anything like their dim sum, I’m sure it’s good. Although… I did try their pan fried pork dumplings at a catering event and they were excellent… but I also tried the egg rolls and they just sucked. Filled with veggies that even vegetarians would avoid in a greasy mess. But disregard that last statement and I’ll end on a more uplifting note. Jade is definitely a spot to go to if you want good dim sum at even better prices(everything’s around $ 3).
