Opened on November 2, 2011 with a mission to provide South Windsor with a première gathering spot for all the big games along with great food and Windsor’s largest selection of draught beer!

We visited the location on Lauzon. Service was great and so was the food. Me and my girlfriend had burgers and our friends had the rib n wing combo and the hunger challenge combo. Everyone was satisfied with the food and service.
And they have a wide variety of beers on tap which is also important!

im giving two stars because i visited the location on lauzon and the outside patio was very fun and energetic but was too hot for us so we went indoors we ordered a version of a mild wing and it came out so dry and flaky we took most of it home and nobody wanted anymore, the caesar salad was nothing spectacular but theres no reason for wings for a group of 3 to be worth $ 70 on a specials night as well

Really good wings, decent beer selection (weak on craft or microbrews). The rest of the food is average. Great place to watch games. Plenty of big TVs and a lot of great viewing angles. Prices aren’t bad either. Never had bad service.

I kept hearing about how good the wings were at this place, so I recently visited the Lauzon location. We ordered beer and the Season Ender Combo Plater which was a variety of different appetizers. It came with a few sliders, chicken wings, deep fried pickles, onion rings and cheese bread. The food was mediocre and cold! The wings were pretty bland no flavour at all, onion rings were soggy, the deep fried pickles were the only thing that was half decent on the whole platter. The cheese bread was okay, my boyfriend said the sliders were horrible so I didn’t bother to try them. The waitress’s were too busy gathered in a corner chatting and dancing to realize all our glasses were empty. Woke up the next morning with a stomach ache! Will not be giving this place a second chance.

The food and drinks were awesome. The food took awhile but it was really busy there and they apologized so it was all good. The waitress was really sweet made sure we had drinks and she even took a photo of our group for my birthday. Fun place to go with friends for dinner and drinks I’ll defiantly be back.

I was in town on business. I stopped in for lunch with a customer, never having sampled the food at John Max. Lunch was terrific. I went back after work for wings and beer. Delicious!
Fast and friendly service at the bar.
I will be traveling back to Windsor next month, and plan on having more of the cold beer and terrific wings!

I have visited this place twice around 4pm on a weekday and the first time I had impeccable service and the second time I had to search for my waiter. I absolutely love the kronenbourg blanc on tap at $ 7.50 a pint, I feel it’s a bit expensive for a windsor on dougal that has a patio that overlooks a parking lot.
Wings: Thursday are 2 for 1 traditional wings. A small size has about 7 wings, so you can get 14 wings for the price of one small! It comes with carrots and a dipping sauce. Both ranch and blue cheese are excellent sauces. I would love it bottled up for home :) I rexommend trying tequila lime and casear parmesan.
The atmosphere is a typical sports bar with lots of tvs and music. It is clean and seems renovated.

The drink menu is amazing ! All at affordable
prices as well. Upside down margaritas are only $ 6.99 and are great!
This is a perfect place for friends or couples who want to watch the game or sit on the patio on a nice day for drinks!
However, the food is very pricey and poor quality! We decided to order coconut shrimp appetizer it cost $ 11.99 for 8 pieces of shrimp that was burnt and came with a weird spicy plum sauce.

My second experience was very good at John Max’s on Lauzon. My experience at the location on Dougall was very negative. Thank you to Trina who was a amazing waitress and thank you to the management for understanding the value of customer service. I will be back! And I will bring my friends!

This is actually a review of the second location on Lauzon rd.
In past visits to the Dougall location, I couldn’t say enough good things. This location has some growing pains before it meets that standard.
1) wings were overcooked. A bit of a disappointment because I consider JMs wings the best in the city.
2) there are 2 large TVs over the bar. Neither is hi def. Both were showing the same MTL vs DET game. I asked our waitress if she could ask the bartender if we could have the game on of the smaller hi def TVs over the bar. The response from the bartender/bar mgr via our waitress was ‘that’s how it is and that’s how it’s gonna stay. «
3) at the end of the night with one full beverage and one half full in front of us our waitress asked us «can I get you anything else or just the bill?» «No not yet» Soon after wards, with beverages still in front of us, our bill arrives ie bums rush. No line up at door and empty tables available.
Hopefully these are just growing pains.
