Assumption Park

I had the opportunity to stop here 2 days ago while there was a small fair happening here. There was a nice crowd and I was lucky to get a spot in the parking lot. The big draw for me were the 4 food trucks visible from Riverside Dr. I went with truck with the British fish and chips. Very good.
This is a gorgeous little park occupying a narrow strip along the river. It has good view of the infamous Detroit skyline and the Ambassador Bridge. There are restroom facilities on site. A number of benches and tables are scattered about for hanging out or dining in the park. There is also a small amount of parking. As you drive or stroll along Riverside Dr, one can see the sculptures in the park. I wish that I had more time to check out the sculptures.
I only spent a couple of hours here but I really enjoyed it.
