I love strolling the gardens and pathway of the Windsor Side of the Detroit River. The views of Detroit are incredible and the occasional lake freighter or pleasure craft sailing by brings a serenity that belies the traffic of both cities. At the centre of the park system is Dieppe Gadens, a park located at the foot of Oullette Avenue, just North of Riverside Drive. The gardens are beautiful and the addition many years ago of a fountain(a gift from a sister city located in Italy) sets a peaceful background. Last year(2014) there was a mystery sculpture who shaped some of the bushes(pardon the pun) into phallic symbols. an homage to some of the things that used to go on in the parking lot !

One of the easiest tourist attractions you’ll ever visit… and you can’t beat free! Perched at the northern end of Canada’s best-known border city, looking across the river at a world power and the magic that is the D, you’ll find this park. It’s actually part of a large strip of connected parks creating a fantastic waterfront enjoyed by many. With cycling and walking paths, beautiful lawns and flower gardens and impressive vistas in all directions, this spot is impressive at pretty much any time of day, in all weather and through the whole year! See you there!
