Move over Barakat… We have a new player in town! Our favourite shawarma place. We usually split a chicken shawarma platter with fattoush salad or baba ganoush on the side(both fantastic). They also serve speciality bakery items spanning both the savoury and sweet spectrum, made in-house! They make their own pita bread in a brick oven, it comes out warm, fresh and soft. Staff is very friendly, service is fast and the prices are fair. Next time you’re in the mood for some tasty Mediterranean food, make the trip to south London and try out The Shish, you won’t leave disappointed.

I love Shawarmas and while i was driving around south London area and had driven by the sish big place. The place is large and the cooks were at same time cooking and getting the food out as fast as the waiter could get it out. At the beginning I was alittle uneasy but the place was really busy for a Wednesday evening. Place seems popular among the people living around area. Most were eating there, but also others were coming to take shawarmas to go actually Atleast 10 or more in my 1hr their. We ordered our shawarmas and they were really tasty. But we enjoyed the most was the garlic sauce, the guy gave to us. We even had to ask for extra and hot sauce, hehe. I have to always order hummus everytime however this time changed it up to Bubba ganoush(smoked egg plant hummas), just added extra olive oil and more hot sauce, broke my nice warm Arabic bread which I think is made on side. Delish ^^ He — the whole staff, very friendly. What seem to be the guy in charhe was telling me the whole story of the restaurant and was also interested how i knew so much about Middle Eastern foods, after 10min chat i had made a friend for life! I highly recommend this place, just wish I could find more time to explore his menu more! Pros — Staff, food, cleanliness, menu selection and willingness to help. Cons — none noticed but will update again later I’m sure.

I go here often for lunch as its close to work and the chicken shawarma and kibbeh are very tasty. Portions are a reasonable size. Staff has always been very friendly. It’s often busy at lunch time when I go, but I still get served in a timely manner.

The Shish catered a work event I was at in January and it was the best Lebanese food I have ever tasted. A coworker said it was very authentic, tasted like what her grandmother and mother would have made. I have ordered take-out for my family twice now and it has been excellent. I believe they have recently changed ownership. Based on the other reviews, it has improved 100%!

Went to The Shish, because I’ve never heard of it before, and wish I never heard about it. Their food was below average. The waitress couldn’t explain the menu properly. The meat was dry, the rice was over spiced, too much lemon in hummus, and the lettuce was untouchable(it had a rotten taste to it). It was a waste of money. I should’ve walked out when I saw that the only people in there were the employees.

We went here hungry enough for anything to taste good. We went around 2 o clock and were the only customers in the restaurant. A super friendly waitress took our order. Here is the review of my order. 10 piece wings, medium– medium was completely mild, cold-warm, and did not taste fresh. Burger plate– driest burger pattie I had in my life. For 11.99 I was expecting at least a decent eatable burger. Beef shawarma plate– shwarama meat extreamtly over seasoned and cold. The lettuce was bitter and seemed rotten. Waitress switched shifts and we asked the new girl for pita bread, we never received it. Beef shawarma wrap– decent, but no where near as good as some other cheaper places in town. Total about $ 40 Not coming back.
