The place has recently got new management running the place. The new management are the same guys who run bourbon st at Conestoga mall and the new menu at Panda Express are the same as the menu at bourbon st. As such, the meals there are pretty decent. I got a 3 entrée meal, which consists of a rice/noodle, 3 sides and 1 can of pop. All for under $ 10. The staff are really polite and gave us decent serving size. Furthermore they offered us free samples of their main dishes, which is the first time I have ever seen an Asian restaurant do this. It is not a full 4 star because their staff was slightly disorganized when I came at 1230pm and their food is not too healthy. Overall it is a good revamped restaurant students and/or anyone in this region should try out.

The highest dollar to calorie ratio in the plaza. For ten bucks, get enough calories to last a whole day! Pretty good selection of deep-fried meats, stir-fried veggies and other generic oily chinese fast-food. While quality is mediocre, the selection, quantity and quick service make up for it.

If you are hungry and volume is important, then Panda King is your place. If you are in a hurry and time is short, they are very quick. If your wallet is thin and cost is an issue, this is very reasonable. If you care about flavour and quality — maybe wait until you are hungry, in a hurry and don’t have much cash. This is about as generic and bland as Chinese food ever gets. They spice it for heat, but not for anything else. While this place does have a number of die hard regulars(and a frequent buyer card for 1 free meal after 10 paid meals), I doubt I will eat here again any time soon.

Quite a lot of people suggested this place for take outs so I decided to give it a try. I ordered combo 2 and the portion was quite large, definitely good for 3 meals for a small girl like me loool. I got BBQ chicken and the shrimp which were both really good. The fried rice was bland however, but I will recook it and add more salt for another meal so it’s fine. The free pop is nice too

Serves huge portions for a very good price. My go-to when looking for a quick, cheap fix of greasy goodness.

This is my go-to place when I want a lightning-fast non-burger-and-fries. If the place isn’t busy(it is quite often filled with half-starved college students), you can get in and out in less than two minutes. The food is usually fresh-ish(if not what I’d call authentic Chinese cuisine), and the portions are more than a single person should want or need to eat. If you get a combo, you get your choice of chicken fried rice, chow mein noodles, or shanghai noodles. No matter which of these you choose, they give you enough for at least three people. Then they’ll have twelve to sixteen additional options, suitable for a vegetarian or a more carnivorous diet. The service is friendly, if a little brusque. Perhaps it’s due to the cafeteria-style atmosphere of the service counter, or perhaps it’s just the nature of the people that run it, but while I occasionally feel rushed, I never feel as if they’ve been rude to me. The value is there. They have a loyalty program — buy ten two or three item combos and you get a free one, and every meal comes with a beverage included. Overall, I’ve had better Chinese food, but if you’re looking for a quick alternative to another burger combo, check it out.

Alright first off, I remember going to Panda King for the first time back in first year. My first impression after tasting the food? Terrible. Like, why would anyone even come here? After that, I never went back to Panda King… until now(2 years later). One of my friends kept saying how awesome panda king was since you get so much food for the price you pay. So eventually one day, when I was really hungry, I decided to give Panda King another shot. I had very low expectations going in. After I ordered and paid, I started eating. At first glance, the food was shining with oil. Now, maybe it was due to me having low expectations, but when I started eating, I could not stop. I just kept eating the food, and was enjoying it. After I finished, I was shocked. I thought, omg this was the best food ever. Then I went again a few days later and hated it. Overall, I would come here if I was starving and just want something to eat.

Fast food chinese. It’s actually pretty good for the price. 3 choices plus carbs and a soda for less than $ 10. I recommend choosing the less canadianized dishes, like the ma po fish. You can ask for a taste and they’ll give you a piece on a toothpick.

This was my goto place in my frosh year at waterloo. There is a large variety of sides if you get the special combo. The mapo tofu, fried shrimp, pepper beef and shanghai noodles are some of the best things to get. Recently, I felt their portions have gotten smaller. Only go if you need some quick Chinese and cheap food

A lot of my friends make fun of me for going to Panda King. Telling me things like… The quality just isn’t there. That the food isn’t fresh. That the food is excessively oily. That is too salty. That i’m fat. This is all true. Now, imagine yourself starving + studying. You’d feel pretty down. Now imagine yourself starving + studying + Panda King. What you see here is true happiness. With its cheaper prices and infinite portions the cost to satisfaction ratio is just unparalleled. Sometimes in life we just want to be a Panda. Fat and lazy, but awesome and sophisticated. Once you understand, you too will become a Panda King.
