This is the second time that I’ve been here. Last time, I followed a crew member from my cruise ship. This time, I knew the way(or rather I followed John B. who remembered the way). A lot of construction going on, so it was a little difficult finding the entrance(6−20−15). I like the fact that I could use my phone with the Starbucks app here in Canada and not worry about the exchange rate. There is another Starbucks location closer to the water down by the Empress Hotel, but that one doesn’t stay open as late as this one. Plus, most people off the cruise ship will not walk to this one, making the atmosphere here much better(less crowded) and more local feeling.

Another wonderful Starbucks situated between the cruise port and the Empress Hotel. There is enough seating for an average crowd. This establishment has all the usual and expected stuff that makes Starbucks what it is-a damn fine coffee chain. The coffee is served efficiently and with a smile. They have an excellent selection of foods and at 7 p.m. they still had an acceptable variety to choose from. If you are a tourist, this place is not quite downtown but is an easy walk, especially if the Starbucks near the Empress Hotel is closed. The barista was wearing a shirt that said, Vancouver Island 20 years. Let’s hope that they are still going strong 20 years from now.
