History
Established in 1961.
Russell Books first started in Montréal in 1961. It began as a small 300 square foot, one aisle, used bookstore and gradually grew into the biggest used, antiquarian and remainder bookstore in Montréal.
In 1991 Reg Russell, founder of Russell Books, opened a Victoria branch with his daughter Diana and her husband Ron DePol at 734 Fort Street, where it is today.
The many family members, 40+ staff, and two stores now offer over 14,000 square feet of new, used, remainder, antiquarian, and out-of-print books, as well as a unique selection of cards, journals, and calendars.
