I used to get my haircut here all the time(but, not by Jimmy). I would usually end up with sort of a junior G-man looking cut, which was fine. I went back and while Jimmy still has the first chair, the others are handled by hipsters who only seem to know the shave back and sides, leaving the top shaggy. I won’t be back.

See the negative reviews on Jimmy and they are right on the ball. Does not matter what kind of haircut you ask for as he has one standard cut which is to buzz the hair off. Avoid at all costs unless that is the cut you prefer. If you do find you need to go to Jimmy’s get Artors or his brother Visar to do your cut. That said, they don’t seem to have regular hours or days so hit and miss if they are there. Phone ahead. See my lesson learned below. I was there today and only Jimmy was in first thing in the am so I asked when waited approx 45 min. despite assurances from Jimmy during my wait that Artors was arriving anytime. I advised Jimmy at that point I would step out for 10 – 15 min and asked he hold my place should Artors arrive. I got back and indeed Artors was there and already had a customer so no worries. However, there was another person sitting there that then spoke up and said he was next and he had called ahead because he had to get to work. I advised him and Artors that I had been waiting for an hour and had asked Jimmy to hold my spot. Artors finished up and then when I got up to go next it became zoo as the customer who called insisted it was his turn. The other barber who had arrived just before I had left(don’t go to him either — he learned his trade from Jimmy) then got involved and said because I stepped out that I had to go to the back of the line. A shouting match ensure so I left as I was in a no win situation. I would have felt that I would have gotten a crappy haircut even if I won my arguements so I left and will never ever step foot in this place again. BTW Jimmy did not speak up during this shouting match so he won’t have your back.

I agree with a lot of the pervious posts where you must avoid Jimmy at all costs. I used to go here a lot when I was in highschool and was margainally satisfied, I was in highschool I didn’t really care how my ceaser cut looked. My haircut was pretty simple, #2 everywhere and a little bit off the top. So back then it was pretty awesome, cheap as sin haircuts. But now that I am older and use my noggin I will never go back. The other barbers in this establishment do a margainally good job, it’s well worth the $ 13 if you want a straightforward haircut(which isn’t my case anymore, but I digress). Never, ever ask for Jimmy, I recently spent a few days in Victoria on vacation and I wanted to just get my head shaved, yes, I wanted a #1 absolutely everywhere so I could start my hair again from scratch. He even fucked this up. I don’t know how you can fuck up shaving someones head but he managed to do it. I didn’t notice until I got hom and looked in a mirror close up but I had varying strands of hair even and including 3 inch hangers from my old length, man was my brain on fire, so much so I went to the local London Drugs and just picked up a trimmer and buzzed the rest off myself and continued to do so for the next couple months until I wanted a change. Me doing my own hair in the mirror backwards was a better buzz job than Jimmy, you have been warned.

While the other barbers in this shop may know what they’re doing, unfortunately Jimmy seems to have lost his game(or may have never had it). Prior to having Jimmy cut my hair, my last 3 visits with 3 separate barbers in this shop have all been great. Visit #1 with Jimmy: I tell Jimmy not to take too much off the top, Jimmy takes an electric razor to the top of my head. You know where this is going. Visit #2 with Jimmy: I reminded Jimmy not to take too much off the top. Jimmy takes an electric razor to the top of my head. My hair looked like a rabid dog had had its way with it. There will be no visit #3. If you’re desperate for a cheap($ 12CAD) haircut, please please do yourself a favor and don’t ask for Jimmy.

I used to come here, back when I worked downtown. I didn’t have facial hair back then and my hair cuts were really straightforward. Rates are inexpensive, and the staff are hard working. The place gets very busy during the day.

Jimmy has some really nice big windows for looking out at the ladies walking by in the summer, but the problem I had is he is always looking out at them! On 2 different occassions I received bald spots from Jimmy and his old partner Chris. When those clippers hit your scalp you know it, but then Jimmy also tried to hide it by doing a fast flip with the mirror. Did he really think I would not see a 3 inch square chunk missing in the back of my head? Sure he will give you a free shot of Ouzo at Christmas, and has great magazines, but is it worth the ridicule?

A place where style meets luxurious personalized service. No. It’s a friggin barbershop. Old school. 12 bucks and lots on Maxim to read while you wait for your turn in one of the 5 chairs
