History

Established in 2009.

LAB salon is a creative collective founded by iconic local hair stylist Matty Conrad. While the salon is a continuation of his former successful ventures Matty is quick to point out that he prefers to think of himself as the «director» rather than the «owner».

The team at LAB has been drawn together from many backgrounds including several stylist who have worked in places like London England and Vancouver’s Yaletown. On average LAB stylists have around 8 – 10 years of experience behind a chair and have trained in many of the major cities around the world.

The major difference you’ll notice about LAB is the apparent lack of pretentiousness that is usually associated with a high end salon. The staff are inviting, friendly, casual, and easy to talk with. But don’t let their cavalier nature fool you… they are deadly serious about hair.

Business Owner

Lab director Matty Conrad has trained with some of the biggest names in the industry all over the globe. He is passionate about hair, music, photography, and fashion (which is evidently reflected in his salon).

Matty is currently working as an Essential Looks artist for Schwarzkopf Professional and travels all over the world teaching other hairdressers his creative brand of style and salon business.
