Pet Valu + Groomingdale

I usually shop at this PetValue as they carry the L.I.D. food my dog prefers. The staff are alway friendly and the owner (maybe manager) is very friendly and knowledgeable.
As the grooming area is at the back of the store, I wandered back to take a look at what was going on and to check the groomers in action. I spoke to one of them and made an appointment for one of my pooches on a Friday at 1:30. I was told that they would call the day prior to the appointment, as a courtesy reminder, as they’re very busy and the appointment could be given to another person should circumstances change. Fantastic… and they did call as they promised.
Anyways, on the day of my appointment, I dropped my dog off as scheduled and inquired as to a pick up time. I was told 2 hrs but that they would call when the dog was ready.
At 4:30, having still not hearing anything, I returned to the store to see if my dog was ready. He was in the process of getting groomed. I asked the time frame before he was ready (as I didn’t want to drive home and then back again if it was going to be a couple of minutes). I was told approx. an hour. By the time I drove home, the groomer had called and left a message on my home phone stating that my dog was ready for pickup… probably 15 minutes after I had left the store.
Was I happy with the cut given to my pet… absolutely. It is one of the best cuts he’s had. Was I happy that I was told his grooming would take 2 hours when it actually was 3 ½hr…meh…it wouldn’t normally have been an issue if I didn’t have to be in Richmond Hill for 5:30 (which by the time I dropped my dog at home I didn’t get there until after 6).
