This is what Pizza is supposed to be. It’s the pan pizza you’ve always wished for. Zesty sauce, a nice pan crust with the perfect amount of light crunch on the outside and pillowy soft inside. Normally I don’t write a review during the actual nomming of said food, or even the same day but I have to give this place the accolades it deserves. Now back to eating my pizza.

Good old school crust, loaded heavily and evenly all toppings and tastes great(even the next day). Order once and you’ll know why he has lasted this long even when Little Cesar’s, Domino’s, Panago, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s are all within a 5 min drive from this place.

Best pizza in western Canada, period. It took me a long time to find a place that uses REAL pizza dough and cooked properly with lots of toppings and REALCHEESE!! Vancouver might have some great Asian/pan Asian places but can’t make a decent pizza to save their lives. I feel satisfied after I eat Zorro’s.It tastes awesome and the owner is ALWAYS there and he cooks it himself. Cash only, no exceptions. They deliver(call for area).

My all time favourite pizza. Lots of toppings and great cheese. Used to like Simpaticos in the 80s but it’s much farther to drive there now and have found Zorro’s within blocks of my home. Family favourite now.

This review is likely intended to be a eulogy for our formerly loved Zorro’s pizza. Word on the street is that the previous owner has sold the business and, from our experience tonight, it appears that the new owner has no idea how to maintain business or any clue on customer service. As I’ve mentioned in one of my earlier reviews, I work for a large call ctr that operates 24 hours a day and we order a large amount of food. We have *easily* spent *thousands* of dollars at Zorro’s this past year alone. First, it’s New Years Eve. I completely understand that it’s busy. Believe me, we’re astoundingly aware. If you don’t want to deal with the craziness that is New Years then, you know what, close your business, head to the bar and go join in the festivities. We ordered tonight($ 156)…what will almost certainly be our final order. There were some problems with the order and our staff called back to who we believe to be the new owner who began to swear and curse our staff. It was beyond rational. called our staff lippy and crazy abuse. A younger male eventually took the phone, apologized profusely while the older male continued swearing and banging items in the background. Umm…no thanks. You know what? The pizza business is highly competitive and there are plenty of great choices out there. Don’t for a second think that you can blatantly abuse your(formerly) loyal customers and expect there not to be repercussions. We’ll just take our thousands of annual dollars elsewhere.

Came here to check out the pizzas. Parking is available on the side of the building. There are 6 or so spots. You can also park on Joyce, or the side streets. The place is quite cluttered. Looks like inside of a hoarder’s house. There are junk mail and flyers everywhere. As for seating, there is literally 1 table with fold-up chairs. See pic. So yes, in theory you can bring a hot date here, as long as you don’t mind the mess or the can of Raid on the table. The chef didn’t seem to friendly, contrary to what other reviewers are saying. Maybe he had a bad day. What did kind of get me though is the bait and switch(somewhat). The sandwich board says«2 for 1», which is true, but if you are charging $ 21 – 36 for each«pair» of pizzas, well, the pricing is nothing special really. The good news from all this? The pizza is made fresh. Which also means that you’ll be sitting around for 30 minutes unless you called in early. This is a good thing though. As for the taste? Well, the pizzas tasted pretty mediocre upon first bite, but strangely enough, seems to get better with each subsequent slice. My friends and I all noticed this. Not sure what kind of special mind-altering ingredients are going into this thing, but I can’t recall this phenomenon every happening any other time in my life. Lastly, the place only takes cash. Something to keep in mind. We almost had to make a bank run. Overall the place is decent, but there are cheaper alternatives.

It’s a order pizza/lasagna take out place — full pizzas no by the slice type thing. The pizzas were cheesy and thick crusted and HOT! We ordered one Italian and one Greek and both were tasty. The owner/chef is a bit of a chatter if given the chance to chat — not too overwhelming but it’s a pretty small place so he might be reading his book in the back ground while you eat at the one and only table. Gonna try the Jerry’s and one w/smoked oysters next time!

You get pretty good value for your money here; Zorro’s is one of the best take out pizza places in the neighbourhood. The pizza crust is a medium thick, and they use a generous amount of sauce. These pizzas are absolutely loaded with toppings, and they don’t skimp on the cheese. Rumor has it the owner actually grows some of the herbs and toppings in his own garden, just a few blocks away. They take cash only, and sometimes the pizza can be soggy. All in all a decent place.

For years I have lived a few blocks from this place and never thought to try it. In general I find pizza places that are sit down restaurants offer a superior product than any hole in the wall place. The only reason I decided to finally try it was because of reading reviews online. I am very glad that I finally gave it a try as it has become one of my favourite places in town. The pizza has a medium thickness crust that is quite tasty. The quality of the toppings is superior to any of the big chain pizzerias. And he absolutely loads the pizzas with cheese. Yummy, yummy cheese! The sauce is also quite tasty and he uses quite a bit which I enjoy but it can cause one slight drawback. If you don’t eat the pizza pretty quickly it tends to get a little soggy, which may be a problem for some people. Overall its not the best pizza I have ever had, but it’s darn good, and when you factor in the very reasonable prices, that makes it 5 stars for me. One last note. The cash only thing is a little annoying. The first time I went I had to spend 15 minutes finding a bank machine. If the pizza wasn’t so good, i probably would have never returned. So remember to bring cash.

Last time I ate at Zorro Pizza, the owner/chef told me that pizzas were like women, you have to wait for them or you’ll get sick. And then he told me to not smoke near the door because he has asthma and if he chokes to death he’ll burn the place down and I won’t have any pizza. And then he told me to pay him after the thing came out and I could take a good look at it. The restaurant is really small, the size of a counter, oven, and single 4 seat table that may or may not have a couple of people drinking wine at it, depending on who’s asking. I don’t think they have a washroom so make sure your hands are clean if you’re doing take out. They also do not have by the slice deals. What they do have is pretty damn good pizza. The toppings are sparse but creative and include shrimp, beef, onion, peppers, ham, pineapple and… oyster? etc. A couple of the combinations sound worse than they are. The actual pizza itself looks fully reversible, with mozzarella thick enough to be another crust on top. Needless to say, these pies are greaseballs. The price is reasonable, if not a bit high compared to competition. But the pizza doesn’t compromise on its core qualities: tomato sauce, crust, and cheese like the competition does.

We used to always order from Zorro’s when we visited friends who lived closer to it, before we moved to Collingwood where we are now happy Zorro’s regulars. Try the smoked oyster and onion pizza if you are in adventurous mood; the Jerry’s special is also awesome. I think Zorro himself is a big part of the charm of the place. He seems super legit and takes real pride in his work. I asked him once if he had any special deals, and he said«every pizza I make is special». This is true. Get pickup instead of delivery just so you can go yourself and check it out; but warning — this s*** may be too real for you. The pizza is thickly topped with cheese, has a nice medium thickness crust, is baked to perfection and two slices should satisfy anyone’s appetite. I will admit never having tried anything but the pizza, because it is so awesome. I would bet the other menu items are also great. Say hi to Zorro and show some respect to a true master. Then eat some good pizza.
