Me and my friends were visiting the area and loved this place! Usually if you saw a deal«2 Slices and a Pop for $ 4.50» from a place called«Super Great Pizza» you wouldn’t exactly welcome it with open arms. Me and my friends however were hooked on it! We went back twice during our 5 day stay in BC, Canada.

I must say I have had pizza from many places in the world but nothing seems to compare to this pizza place. When it was first established it was named«Joyce Pizza» and somewhere in the early 2000’s it was renamed super great pizza. The owner is still the same sweet old man; although not seen in the shop as much anymore, he seems to have more staff then ever before running the place as it is busier than ever before! They have over 15 different pizza combinations to choose from which were always made hot and fresh every hour. Each pizza seems to sell out quickly wether it is 12pm or 10pm, each pizza is also freshly made right in front of you and never frozen. If you look to the left of the ovens you can see a pizza stacker(if there not busy, which hardly happens) usually with 8 more pizza’s ready for the oven! It is located right across the street from Joyce Skytrain Station, so transit is easily available and there is parking to the right side of «Super Great Pizza» on Vanness Ave. At the moment there most popular pizza deal is 2 slices of any kind of pizza & a pop can of any choice for $ 4.50. You can never buy just once slice of pizza here, you’ll be hooked the moment you take your first bite! My personal favourite is the pepperoni & meatball pizza, they do have sriracha, chilli flakes, cheese and ranch available beside the till as free topping choices! Only negative thing about this place is the fact it is small, during the lunch rush it is nearly impossible to find a seat! That’s fine in the summer time as people will stand outside the front and eat but there is no additional seating outside even during summer hours…

Cheap pizza by the slice, it’s never super or great. Yes, they have lots of pizzas, lots of choices, they are busy, and they are cheap. But I can’t eat here anymore. What defines this place for me is a certain aftertaste, and along with that an aroma, or to me, more of an odor… AFTER you eat it, it’s a weird spice smell I can’t put my finger on, and I really dislike. I can smell this on my friends if they’ve stopped for a piece on the way to my house, and I find it truly terrible. This place has been in my neighbourhood for a long time. Old isn’t necessarily good. I don’t understand all the good reviews. If you need pizza that’s cheap, there are other options nearby!

This place hand down has the best pizza in Metro Vancouver. Located beside Joyce skytrain station it is easy to get to. They always have 5 or more types of pizza slices available and always fresh. The down side is the line up. It almost is always out the door. But that’s why the pizza is always fresh. A new pizza comes out of the oven every few minutes. Price is right to. The pizzas have generous amounts of cheese and are 2.00 each or cheaper with more slices. The staff are not friendly. Not jerks either but your never going to strike up a conversation. But considering how busy they always are it shouldn’t be a shocker. Highly recommend. I spend 30 min on skytrain from Surrey to eat here.

Have to admit, Super Great Pizza does kind of live up to its name. I’m always a little leery of cheap by the slice pizza. I find they either have very few toppings or I start trying to imagine what shortcuts they’ve taken to keep the price down which always conjures up some scary thoughts. This place doesn’t cheap out on the toppings or flavour, their deep dish pizza is covered with various toppings and definitely earns a place in the upper ranks of affordable comfort food. I’m not sure there is anywhere else in Vancouver where you can get 2 slices of pizza and a can of pop for $ 4, at least not one where you won’t later regret eating said pizza. The shop itself is located right across from Joyce skytrain station, making it a great pit shop if you’re awaiting a bus or taking the train. It’s not a fine dining place by any means, so don’t take your date here if you’re looking to impress that special someone. It has the look and feel of a small student cafeteria but if you’re a pizza lover, it’s a must visit.

Their pizza’s are made differently and give you the soft taste. For those who love the«toppings» more than the bread, I believe this is a better choice than other places that make their slices hard and like cardboard. I’ve also taken some home before and couldn’t finish. They were alright with the microwave. Most pizzas have to be eaten the first time they were warmed or baked up. The toppings is why you’d come here. Their cheese is abundant and they put so much toppings sometimes a few fall off after you pick them up. In conclusion, those people who hate eating the edges of the pizza should try this place. Their dough isn’t hard but soft so you’d most likely eat what you buy. The biggest down fall is the increase in price since it used to be $ 1.00 a piece but now it’s $ 2.00 per piece. Their most common deal is the«2 pieces and 1 pop» for $ 4. Last thing is, the people that work there literally look like they have side businesses other than a pizzeria. They haven’t really done anything to me but if you’be got great imagination and etc. The people do look like the Gambino’s. I’m sure they’re just tired from the job and are really nice inside.

The pizza is good for a quick late night snack. If I can’t go downtown or something, then here’s a good grab. If you like your pizza doughy and soft, here’s your place. Prices are good too. Great location too, right off the skytrain at Joyce.

Pizzas great, staff are okay not friendly enough! The pizzas are always a little too oily but you’ll get over it because who cares right? :D

Oh Joyce Pizza(the unofficial name) I’ve spend years and years in this joint. I mean, back when pizza was a dollar a slice. I always love this place. It’s just a different breed of pizza lol. Mostly its a bit soft but overall satisfying. This pizza joint is a must try. Personally i like the cheese. The staff are straight forward. Grab and go(barely will there be space to sit down)

Tastes like my childhood! My elementary school was very close by, so most often as a kid I’d come here to grab an after school snack for just $ 1 ! Those days are long gone, but since this business is still alive n kicking 15+ years later, they’ve gotta be doing something right! Fresh Slice down the block is no competition to these guys. You can really tell the difference in the crust, and since they’re so busy all the time, you can trust that their pizzas are always fresh! I particularly like the sausage + banana peppers or just plain pepperoni! Slather on the chilli flakes, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and Ranch at no extra charge, that’s the game changer for me! There’s no doubt about it, I’ll keep coming back for more ;)

This place is right at the Joyce Skytrain station. This used to known as Joyce Pizza. Name change, however, same great owners, same great Pizza by the slice. As far as great cheap pizza by the slice is concerned, this is actually as good as it gets. They’re open late for when you have to catch a late bus. Even though there is a price mark, that just comes with the territory with the economy and the cost of things going high. It is still a decent price for Pizza none the less.

They used to have good pizza. Maybe not Super Great but still quite good. But that has changed. Several other pizza places have opened around here. You think that would make these guys step their game up but that isn’t the case. Their pizza has gone way down hill. It isn’t even as good as the fresh pizza place near by. If you want good pizza, go to another neighbourhood.

5 stars because of quality, convenience and the value of nostalgia. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, back when one slice was $ 1 flat. It makes me sad that the price has doubled since then but it is a business after all, and price increases are necessary to keep up rising costs for… well, everything nowadays. Anyway, For $ 5 now you can get 2 slices and a drink: a cheap, filling and satisfying meal for anybody, especially poor and lazy students like myself. My personal faves include Hawaiian, Canadian(bacon and mushroom), and spicy chicken. Even with 2 other pizza places merely steps away, Super Great Pizza will always be my go-to place for my childhood favourites!!!

I wouldn’t say this is the best pizza I’ve ever had but it’s definitely up there. The pizza is HUGE and the price is definitely right. So much selection and it hits the spot. Big fan

The aforementioned«Super Great Pizza». Being Indian, I can appreciate the lack of thought that goes into naming a pizza business(i.e., the Punjabi shop«D-Hut Pizza», a blatant rip off from«Pizza Hut», but who cares, it is open on Christmas Day). Anyhow… The pizza here is delicious, and as my lovely wife and I jog home, we often pass the long lineups of hungry patrons ready to indulge in a smattering of heavy, yeasty, greasy dough topped with mounds of cheese and toppings. For the price, the value is great. Cheese isn’t cheap(and that’s a shame), so $ 2.00 slices with THATMUCHCHEESE, I mean… you cannot beat that. But I find that it’s too heavy. If you want a slightly pricier but wayyyy healthier option, try Papa John’s on Kingsway(of course, you may want to boycott them, seeing as their jerk-donkey CFO has cut many of his staff’s hours in the USA as a childish response to the implementation of «Obama-Care»).

It use to be $ 1 pizza here and they served it fresh and hot. It’s now $ 2. The quality isn’t on par with before. Some of the pizzas were served cold and dry to me. I know it’s a waste to throw those out, but I don’t want to be buying food that has been sitting there for a while. If you’re in time when they take out the pies from the oven or wait a while until they do, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious fresh and hot pizza. I love their crust as it is not fried; it’s soft, moist and seasoned with a little parsley. Variety is great. They stock Hawaiian, Pepperoni, Meat, Olive, Feta, Veggie and my all-time favorite, Garlic, which is oozing with fresh garlic, mozzarella and feta cheese. At $ 15 for a large pizza, it’s gotten expensive. I say this because it’s now around the same price as better pizza places. What attracted me to this location was the old prices: $ 1 for a slice, $ 10 for a large pizza. I really don’t think any pizza is worth $ 15 or more. This place makes waiting for the bus so much yummier.

Their crust is thick American-style, which I don’t like as much, but will do if I’m in the area. It’s right across from Joyce Station, so, with lots of foot traffic, the slices are usually fresh. I agree with Molly N. about the Ghetto-ness of the«décor» and«cleanliness». Interac, but no credit card(they used to take Visa as well, but not anymore).
