I tried yolks for the 4th time today, I used my gc thanks to Katie she did an amazing job and made us come back for yolks again. Anyway i did a phone order and the person took my job is the best on what she do(I will definitely hire her if she apply on our store lol) she is not rushing me with my order and always double check everything. The person who gave my order when i picked up(i dunno if its the same person) is very polite and very welcoming. The food is always the best no question about it. But we will definitely come back here again because of the amazing service we received. Thanks Yolks you never let us down! You will always be our go to breakfast or lunch.

This place is busy but understandably so! A neat feature though is that they take your name down then text you a url to a web-app that lets you monitor your place in line, so you can step away for awhile and come back closer to the time you’ll be seated at. The food here is really nice. Well prepared and good presentation. Though my lady-friend *wink-wink* had an order of their truffled potatos and felt there was too much truffle oil on them — but can you really have too much truffle? I had the pancakes with banana slices, walnuts, and caramel. This also came with a choice of ham, bacon, or bangers. I went with the bangers. It was a nice stack of pancakes with lots of walnuts and good amount of banana slices. Drizzled with maple syrup, it was pretty damn tasty. The bangers were on a dollop of grainy mustard. Grainy mustard is gross — but if that’s your kinda thing, well then, you’ve got bad taste. But each to their own. Brunch-time is busy, so the seating is crowded, but it’s a good place for brunch and happy to see it in the area. Karnak!

The specialty at Yolks is eggs benedict, and they do a solid rendition of the classic dish. At $ 10.75 the price is reasonable, but note that this is for the bare bones version(2 eggs, bacon, hollandaise, and an English muffin), sides(fruit or potatoes) and cheese are extra. They do offer a gluten free bun(+1.50) for those with celiacs. While the benny is very traditional, both the chicken and waffles and the hashbrowns depart from tradition with mixed results. The waffles were Belgian-style and good, but the chicken is more of a schnitzel than proper fried chicken and, while quite most and tender, it didn’t have the flavour or nice crispy, battered exterior of fried chicken. I’d skip it next time. The hashbrowns are more like(heavily) deep fried potato wedges and are flavoured with truffle oil and lemon. Interesting idea, but I wasn’t a fan of the combination of these two strong flavours and I prefer my brunch potatoes cooked on the flat top. Summary: good brunch option if you stick to the eggs, but probably not worth the wait at busy times.

So glad they opened this on Broadway! Different location but same great taste! Love the fact the décor is so bright and lively. The service is very good considering they are always busy and the servers are all working very hard in a fast paced environment. Had to wait for 20 minutes but we expected that. Ordered my fave, chicken and waffles and it’s one of the best this city has to offer. Chicken is served juicy, crispy and piping hot. Great combination with the sweet, soft waffles. Always can count on Yolks for a hearty meal!

My friend ordered chicken and waffles and of course I went with the basics and ordered eggs benny. The bennies were outstanding and the muffin was really good. I also paid for fruit on the side, which was also pretty good. However, I think the waffles were quite normal, not outstanding. The dining environment was okay, the interior was cute but too crowded. Service was great and coffee was acceptable. However, I think it’s a bit on the pricy side. I would want to consider other brunch places if given a second chance.

I’ve been here a few times actually. The wait time on weekends were about 45 minutes but they take our number down and text us when the tables are ready. This time, I came on a weekday around 1pm and we were seated right away. Food tasted delish as usual! However my boyfriend and I for whatever reason both felt the potatoes tasted better at the other location. Not sure if it was just a bit on the salty side here. Regardless, food was still delicious and worth the wait.

We ordered the portobello mushroom eggs and tall stack of pancakes to share, we ate the eggs first and I was pretty much full! Good amount of hasbrowns well seasoned. The pancakes had a good amount of walnuts which I loved and when I had the first bite I was very disappointed, the pancakes had no taste it was bland and I had to use a lot of the maple to cover the weird bland taste of the pancakes. We could’ve finished the plate as it was like our«dessert» but we didn’t it was just not good. The place is nice, waitress was nice, I loved the ambience. I will be back but I will stick to the eggs only.

Wow just sat here for 45 minutes to find out our order was«not put in for some reason». The reason quite obviously is that the front of house staff would rather socialize than focus on serving guests as we saw over our long needless wait. Once we were told the news we were not offered anything and left. BRUTAL! Ps. we are two hospitality people that work just down the street.

Chicken and waffles!!! This location on Broadway is probably prime real estate for a restaurant. Lots of bus lines around, lots of business towers around, and it shows during meal hours. The restaurant itself is pretty small, and it gets packed very quickly with no room for people waiting inside. The seating arrangement is pretty cramped, probably a bit cozier than I’d like. The menu is fairly simple, the mainstay are the egg options. Then there’s also chicken and waffles and oatmeal and some other lesser dishes. The fried chicken is panko battered and fried with belgian waffles, which were quite tasty but in the end the hollandaise in the eggs benedict won me over. Perfectly made hollandaise with perfectly poached eggs. Great brunch spot, even if I don’t really like going out for brunch unless there’s unlimited something involved. Oh there’s unlimited coffee :)

New location of Yolks! Pork Belly benny had a perfectly poached egg and a delicious Hollandaise. The hash though was a little under cooked and also not crispy on the outside and overdosed with the truffle oil… The pork fat was also not realyl rendered out and under seasoned, average. Long wait too… Meh, might come back if i had to in the area but a little overhyped. There are better benny choices in the area. To be fair, I heard their chicken and waffles are amazing so if you’re coming for that, give it at try!

Good food for more or less reasonable prices but poor service. Prepare to wait longer than your estimated wait time and slow service when you do get seated. The Hastings location is run much more efficiently and with better service.

This place was delicious! We came in here at around 11 on a Friday with two people, and were able to be seated right away. It was very full and by the time we left, there was a line outside, so I guess we hit the timing just right. They offer a variety of boozy breakfast drinks, as well as smoothies, fresh orange juice, and locally roasted coffee(which is bottomless). I got a coffee, and we both got water. They gave us a carafe to keep at our table, which was nice because the cups were small and we didn’t have to wait for people to come around with pitchers. It was quite busy by the time I needed a coffee refill so it didn’t happen right away, but it wasn’t longer than a 5 minute wait from empty cup to a refill. I got the bacon and arugula eggs benedict with a side of lemon truffle potatoes. My friend got the chicken and waffles. The eggs benedict were delicious! The hollandaise sauce was perfectly balanced and tangy, the bacon was deeply savory and a nice contrast to the sauce. The english muffin on the bottom was excellent for sopping up egg yolk and sauce, and not overly toasted so it wasn’t too hard to cut(but still toasted enough that it didn’t get soggy). The lemon truffle potatoes were excellent. They were nice and crispy on the outside, but not greasy. They were fluffy and soft on the inside. The house made ketchup was an nice accompaniment for them, but they were good all on their own too. They use larger salt crystals, which added a nice crunch and burst of flavor. I really enjoyed the chicken and waffles as well. The chicken was pretty good, with a panko bread coating, in the middle of two light and fluffy waffles. The whole thing was drizzled with some sweet gravy and came with a tiny pitcher of maple syrup. I’d definitely come back here. They do takeout as well, but I think the experience in the restaurant is worth it.

So happy to have a brunch place in the Cambie ‘hood aside from the usual chain suspects. We arrived just before 10am and only waited a five minutes or so. It was nice the server acknowledged us and service was attentive(came by to take orders and with coffee right away) I had the double smoked bacon benny with potatoes, a very generous portion, with hollandaise. The bacon was a bit overcooked and greasy but the eggs were perfectly cooked with the yolk oozing out! I’ll be back to try the chicken and waffles next! Yum yum :) Nice bright simple décor too.

I was excited when I found out they opened this new location since it’s only walking distance from my bed, literally. The location used to be sliders, which I felt was over priced and no wonder they couldn’t survive. They have a high tech wait list system where you can check your status in line live. This gave me plenty of time to do some Boxing Day shopping at London drugs across the street. Food was delicious as usual. People complain about he food size, but I think it’s perfect portion because I’m not a big eater. I couldn’t even finish the chicken and waffles! The server was attentive, sweet and hip. The hostess was super rude tho. She kept on telling me to wait outside while it was raining and freezing. Food also came really slow. I saw my food at the hot plate waiting for a while before it got picked up.

Man, the wait time can really deter people from coming in, but they’d be missing out on some of the amazing foods that Yolks offers. I mean, they could always wake earlier. or settle for second best for breakfast. We ordered the eggs benedict with lemon truffle potatoes and the chicken & waffles and really enjoyed our food. The eggs bene has a great tangy hollandaise sauce with crispy and well-seasoned potatoes, and the fried chicken was well fried and very juicy inside. The tables were a little packed together and made it a little difficult to move around, but the food is the main attraction of the show.

Damn it’s cold out there! Like what the heck this is suppose to be Vancouver! This is Lotus land not freaking Toronto! Before I dropped my friend off at her office we went to Yolks Breakfast Broadway for brunch. Yolks is small. I would say it can comfortably hold a total of 50 people. I dropped her off so she could grab a table and I could go find a parking spot. Smart move cuz the place was hopping busy! After a cold 10 minute wait outside we were seated on one of their communal tables. I ended up ordering the waffles and chicken. Umm… Not to bad overall. Tasty! Better than I thought it would be. I’m not a huge waffle fan but Yolks wasn’t half bad! Yolks serves only breakfast/brunch meals. If you’re expecting a chicken salad for lunch you’re at the wrong place. Would I come again? Sure if I’m in the mood for a good hearty breakfast Yolks is a great place to come!

My girlfriend and I decided to try this place after hearing all the hype about it. We arrived at 10am on a Saturday and the wait was 40 minutes. The food and service was great, but the ambiance seriously took away from the experience as the tables were packed super close together we were seated right next to the door and there was a constant breeze from people opening and closing the door either coming or going. We really enjoyed the food and service, but because of the ambiance we most likely will not be going again. My recommendation would be to set up an outside heater/booth so the hostess can greet people and tell them about their wait time without the constant need to open the front door, or to set up some sort of wind barrier inside!

Good riddance Sliders and goooood morning Yolk’s! Within a week of taking over this space, this restaurant is absolutely slammed! I walked in at 11:30am on a Wednesday and the only reason I got a seat immediately is because I sat at the bar. I’m so excited to see another successful restaurant in this neighbourhood! I ordered the Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns and was delighted with flavours of lemon, dijon mustard, truffles, perfect seasoning and all the ooey-gooey goodness that you want from this breakfast classic. And don’t forget to try the spicy ketchup! Never again will I have to decide between ketchup and Frank’s. Why has nobody thought of this before? The staff was friendly and attentive, despite the busy rush and the price was great to boot. I will definitely be recommending this establishment to friends and returning again and again. Bravo!

Yum. Tried the new Yolks today and it was damn good. Ordered the Ham benny 2 eggs with the lemon truffle potatoes. Also got an order of the Bangers and there was amazing. Big shout out to Johnny and Tercel at this location. I look forward to coming back and trying something different next time. The food i saw coming out of the kitchen looked so tasty. They do a fresh squeezed orange juice and they also have a house spicy ketchup that went really well with the potatoes. Open from 7am to 3pm. Get here to get some good food because it’s sure worth the trip. Until next time folks.
