This is a great and vast exhibit space. Two large rooms with a funky corridor joining them. Flourescent lighting floods the space making it virtually shadowless. Good for exhibiting but that and the polished concrete floors give the space a more industrial feeling than other galleries. More like a studio space than an exhibition space. It’s a little austere but it works in this case. Anyone exhibiting here can rest assured their work will remain the focal point. They have an excellent catalogue of artists that they represent. If you want to see some really well produced and thoughtful pieces from artists working in a variety of mediums this is an excellent gallery to follow. Never too elitist or esoteric but always provocative exhibits. Vancouver needs more spaces like this.

One of South Granville Rise’s gems, this gallery promotes Canadian and international contemporary artists. Which means you’ll find some rather interesting things to look at my friends. Now I know Vancouver lack the gallery-going culture as opposed to some other fine Canadian cites, but it’s never too late to jump on board and join the art revolution. From sculptures to paintings, the spacious interior is nice and offers a large variety for all. Some call them beautifully ugly photos, we call it an awesome first date.
