Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid offers a recognized National Pet First Aid Certificate course for dog and cat owners and pet care professionals.
Designed in 1994, our program is the longest standing in North America and was designed by a Nurse and team of Veterinarians.
Over the years we have carefully spent time reviewing and updating the program. Instructors now offer our reputable Pet First Aid Certificate program across Canada with expansion into the USA and other countries.
We are recognized by a number of professional organizations and our program is part of the curriculum of a number of dog grooming, dog training, become-a-dog-walker and Veterinary Office Assistant programs.
Our courses are fun, informative, and upon successful completion you will have the skills to be there in your canine or feline’s time of need.
The Walks ‘N’ Wags program includes work with live wiggly pets and participants take home a user-friendly manual with beautiful custom illustrations to enhance their comprehension of the skills.
Distance learning and Instructor Certification are also available.
History
Established in 2000.
Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid’s Head Office is based in Vancouver, BC Canada.
Founded in 2000 by Lisa Wagner, Walks ‘N’ Wags originally offered dog walking and cat sitting services.
Lisa developed an interest in Pet First Aid when she started her Pet Care company. In 2003 she became a Pet First Aid Instructor of highly recognized Oakland Educational Services (OESL).
Over the years, Lisa and her pet care staff had numerous occasions to utilize the skills taught in the Pet First Aid course. They also found warning signs for several illnesses and conditions in their clients’ pets due to the skills learned in class.
In 2007 Walks ‘N’ Wags took over the management of OESL. In 2010, Lisa sold her Pet Care company to focus her energy on the newly updated Walks ‘N’ Wags’ Pet First Aid program.
There are now Instructors teaching the Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid program in many different Canadian cities with USA and worldwide expansion.
