Looks like they changed the route for this year. It now goes up Main to 49th, E to Fraser, S to 57th, and E again. Traffic and parking are a bit of a mess, but there are ways to get around. The food is plentiful, and it is a great way to sample Indian food like there is no tomorrow. The atmosphere is quite festive, and it’s a great way to celebrate diversity in this city.

Being Chinese, the Indo community sure know how to organize this monstrous event that goes from 49th Main and Fraser, to East 57th. Police there to block traffic so cool to be able to cross the streets. A bit chilly with slight wind in the early afternoon. The huge pop up tents, industrial strength, are even set up the previous night. Just a one day affair this past Saturday. Able to sample the free food, the usual, and lots of snacks. food not as good as last year, perhaps different spots I ate at. It was so busy, I may not write another 50 reviews here for the same type of food and/or experience lol. Actually more commercial, with Vancity, Royal Bank, etc as sponsors. Some music and dancers on stages, good talent. And some gorgeous women in their saris. I go every few years. Recommend, if you can brave the closed streets in the side streets.
