Get Animated!

It’s an exhibit that explores the evolution of animation and pays tribute to some of the key players in the animation world both legendary and recent including Chuck Jones and Seth McFarlane (and everyone in between). It was very well laid out and large with lots of white space. The problem was that it had way too much text book reading and not enough physical examples. It would’ve been cool to have a Claymation set flown in, some cells on display, some rendering models etc. They did have a 3D zoetrope which was the highlight of the exhibition. I took a snappy of myself on the animated Simpson’s coach. The gift store is basically a scaled down toy store. Most of the stuff in the gift shop had nothing to do with the exhibit itself. They did have some original cells and sketches ranging from $ 40 — $ 120 even though some of the characters were B grade. It’s a bribery store to make your kids behave. Best time to go is during the beginning of the work week at 9 pm.
