They Live Video

i’m not really a movie person — i can know that i saw a film but couldn’t tell you anything about it or i’ll remember one anecdote but nothing else or i read the back of a movie and forget or i fall asleep in the theatre as soon as i sit down. BUT! i enjoy going into they live! for someone like me who isn’t often affected by or aware of movies, it’s surprisingly fun going into an actual video store again (and not those icky blockbuster or rogers video crazy big bright light places of the past) and see the craziest collection of movies around and see so many titles that look good! i guess there was a time when i had favourite directors and producers and so it’s fun to go into a shop that has movies organized by directors and writers and such and see what i’ve missed in the past number of years or what i can catch up on! and then also see videos from decades ago that are cult favourites or should have been.
this place seems to be carefully curated for the absolute best. and the staff here are super rad. just sayin.
ps i watched «they live» because of the name of this shop!

It’s good to see a local video store still standing through the transition of different medias and viewing format habits.
The store is small, however, well organized. Selection is small to match the layout, however, there is always a treasure that needs to be taken home by yours truly for viewing.
Very friendly staff.

In an age of streaming and downloading it is so refreshing to walk into a store, touch DVDs and get point-​on recommendations.
I love this place!
I always get something new that expands my film knowledge and there is always a film, a section or a new release that catches my eye. And, the store itself is well-​organized, funky and nice to visit.
Just say no to i-​tunes and support stores like this! It is worth it.

this place is incredible. i found movies i never thought i’d get a chance to see. the selection is crazy good and the guys who run the place know they’re stuff AND they’re hilarious! i had almost as much fun renting my movies as i did watching them.
i hope they stick around cause i don’t know where else i’d go to find weird movies or that kind of service.
