Great location on the water, menu is priced accordingly for a Vancouver hotel. The servers are great very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the city. Patio looks like it would be awesome in the warmer months…

We were staying at the Westin. I am usually hesitant about hotel restaurants, but it was a monsoon in Vancouver, you could see mounties floating down the street. The Seawall bar is nice. It had some very comfortable chairs and couches. We planned to just have drink at bar before going to table, but it was so nice we just stayed at bar. We had some potato chips as starter. Delicious, worth getting(although a lot). I had the flank steak which was good, not great. Someone else had mussels which looked really good. The drinks were excellent and others who had drinks liked them. For restaurant in hotel, it was worthwhile.

Came for dinner on a Thursday night and were seated in the patio which had a nice view but there were spider webs and spiders all over the glass walls by the tables. Management should take the time to clean up the webs. After placing our order we waited an hour for an appetizer and a hour and a half for our food. The amount of time we waited for our food was ridiculous. We were there a total of 2.5 hours just to have dinner. The only good thing about this place was our server. She was very nice and kept apologizing for how long the food was taking and said the kitchen was backed up. The food was just OK and was not worth the wait.

The service isn’t the best. The server forgot to bring us cutlery multiple times and took our napkins away before we finished eating so we had to flag a server down. The food was truly mediocre and tasted like frozen dinners one can get at Safeway. The white wine was good, though we had to pour it ourselves throughout the whole meal. My friend couldn’t order mussels because they ran out which was a disappointment for him. So he was stuck ordering the crab cakes. When I ordered dessert I was told the pie was the last piece left. I got the impression they underestimate their food stock. The server forgot to charge me for the piece of pie but kind of glad haha I don’t think we will be back in a flash!

I write this review with regret. I had really hoped this place would turn out to be one of the good ones. In fact, the first time we went to have a few drinks here, it was very enjoyable. Staff was prompt and friendly, prices were fair… and the location is perfect, offering a gorgeous view of the water. However…the next time was not remotely the same. We entered to find a lounge which was absolutely filthy. The carpet, tables… even a few of the chairs and couches were littered with snack-mix. Service was non existent. The union employee, who we assumed was our server, spent most of her time watching a Hollywood drama on the bar TV(what bar tunes in a drama rather than one of the many sports available at this time of year?), and completely neglected her customers. We ordered a drink and were not aproached again, until I waved her over from her movie. I paid in cash, and she just automatically assumed the change was hers to keep. I will return shortly, to discuss our experience with the manager, and to give them another chance. I like the location and the proximity to my home, and I really hope this place turns out to be as great as it could be. Maybe it was merely a bad night.

Nothing fancy. Decent food. Very friendly and prompt service. Had the fish(halibut) and chips. The batter was more doughy rather than crispy but the fish tasted fresh. The dessert was the best part. Had the lemon cheesecake and it was amazing. Would recommend this place for drinks and dessert after an evening walk along the sea wall.

Went here for dinner as my wife’s family was staying at the Westin. Didn’t have any expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is small, with about half the tables against the large windows looking out to Coal Harbour. Service was prompt and friendly. And best of all, the food was excellent! My Angus steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. My wife loved her burger(we all laughed when it showed up because it was about 6 inches high). My nieces said their beef ragout was very good, my sister-in-law thought her salmon was excellent, and my brother-in-law enjoyed his buttermilk fried chicken. The espresso crème brûlée was a big hit for dessert. We all enjoyed our meal, and I would certainly return if our relatives end up at the Westin again.

The crabcakes were a delight. I didn’t bring my appetite with me so I only had the brussels sprouts as a main course. They were grilled in the lemon sauce with capers and just perfect for my late evening appetite. My guest, on the other hand, enjoyed the seafood linguine and practically licked the pattern off the plate. Dessert was a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Got a Canadian Pilsner which was terrific, ordered the fish and chips. Price was $ 18 for two strips of fish with fries and slaw. Also a bottle of Caymus was priced at $ 160 which is pretty outrageous considering it’s $ 55 retail. Food was good but overpriced.

Super unimpressed tonight. In the past we’ve dined at Currents(the indoor restaurant) and also gone to the summer Friday night poolside barbecues, and I have to say I was surprisingly disappointed with our experience this evening. Service was extremely friendly, but sloooooow. Well over an hour for what was intended to be a quick and simple meal(one course each, plus water). It didn’t seem very busy, and we waited a long time between visits from our server. By the time the server came back to ask how we were enjoying our meal, I was already finished, and asked for the bill. The server brought the bill many minutes later, only to disappear while I was fishing out my credit card, and not return for another 15 minutes. Kind of annoying when you’re just trying to pay and get out of somewhere. Food was tasty, but I was shocked that my butter chicken meal(on special) was appetizer sized. It was actually smaller than my child’s kid meal! Maybe 4 oz of chicken in a tiny dish of sauce, plus a side of naan bread. It was good, but I would have expected twice as much — or at least for it to be served atop basmati rice — or something… If I’d known it was so tiny I would have ordered more food, but after waiting so long for our food in the first place, I didn’t have time to do that. We like eating at the Westin because it is close to home, never busy, and serves reliably good food, but I have to say that tonight made me re-think that.
