History

Established in 1949.

Stuart’s Bakery is the sister store to Max’s Deli & Bakery, and has become well known for our large array of fresh pastries, cookies, cakes and desserts.

Best known for the location within the Granville Island Market and we have recently opened a second location in Oakridge Centre Food Court, in partnership with Sunfresh Asian Bakery.

There has also been development of the artisan breads that are now available at both locations. At Stuart’s Bakery, all of our breads are hand crafted rather than mass produced and baked in a Winkler Stone Deck Oven.

Special attention is given to the ingredients of all of our products, the process and a return to the fundamentals of age old baking set Stuart’s apart from preservative-​laden commercial breads and baked goods. Stuart’s Bakery approach requires more time and effort, but you can see, feel, and taste the difference.
