This Starbucks is connected to the Chapters next door but there’s also an entrance at the back of the restaurant as well by the restrooms. These restrooms don’t require a code but I did notice that both men and women were just going into any restroom treating them as unisex. There is an decent amount of seating for this Starbucks but it seemed kind of crowded. It’s amazing how much more Starbucks costs in Vancouver vs. Seattle. The disparity for some of the drinks is over a dollar.

This Starbucks used to be one of my favourites. A couple of my fave baristas have moved on to greener pastures at the Starbucks VGH location… Then this place just went to heck. First the barista had a condescending and pretentious attitude, after telling him I had a complicated order he half listens to what I was saying This is how the conversation goes: Me– hi there, sorry but I have a complicated order Barista — okaaaay go ahead(starts typing on the screen) Me — I’d like a tall in a grande cup, soy, sugar free hazelnut latte with easy whip, heated to 130. Barista — uh huh«stares at the comp screen doesn’t pull out a pen to write my order down» and then stares at me. Me — uhhhhh … Did get that? Barista — you know a macchiato doesn’t come with whip RIIGHTT!!! Me — I didn’t order a macchiato. I ordered a tall in a grande cup soy sugar free hazelnut latte with easy whip, heated to 130. Barista — well why didn’t say so, now I have to delete all this stuff Me — «thinking wtf!!!» When I get my drink — the barista wrote the order wrong… In a wrong cup and wrong syrup… Anyways, the only thing he got right was my name. This place has gone down hill… It’s run so poorly. The staff is so rude and doesn’t listen. One of the worst Starbucks in Vancouver. Note: a man and I chatted as I grabbed a lid for my drink, and he complained about the same thing… He requested for his pretzel to be heated; and he said the barista told him they heated it, but after biting into the pretzel 1 minute later… It was cold. FAIL.

One of my favourite ones b/c of all the action here, and the bookstore to boot too. Especially during the Christmas season, it’s very homey. Great for the ppl taking the bus.

Busy… yes its busy. and when you want to sit and plug in your phone, sometimes you will have to wait. I can say the wifi is great here but maybe because its Chapters providing it. Like how its attached to the bookstore. I can say honestly i find too many of there drinks too sugary. I get the americano. I was a fan of starbucks before it got so popular, that was a long time ago. But now i find there coffee not so great. I would rather go to local coffee shops. I admit i was just here for the wifi. If i want good coffee i go elsewhere. The baristas are friendly and i did have a quinoa sandwhich(pretty decent). But its a place i go for convenience rather than coffee

Great service. Barista even made suggestion to improve my amazing soy chais. loved that! So now I’ll get a soy chai, no water! THANKYOU wonderful barista! I appreciate the yummy suggestion! I stopped here a couple times while I was in Vancouver because it was near the condo I was renting. Super convenient!

the service here is great, come here to enjoy the afternoon of study and relaxation, had 3 coffees, their coffee is a bit burnt overall but its still a Starbucks great taste, place is right next to Chapters, so it gets quiet busy here during weekend, washroom and floor is very clean, the occasional free sample tasting is great too

I stop by here often when looking for a Starbucks fix in the area. There are three other locations nearby, but this one in particular is less busy and has a great staff. Booth seating inside doesn’t make for a large capacity, but this keeps it fairly quiet even at the busiest times of the day. Starbucks through-and-through, there’s not a whole lot to say.

With three locations on South Granville alone, I don’t need to come to this location. But it so happens this is the closest one. Service was spotty with a couple of baristas giving me an attitude. I once asked for more whipped cream on my strawberry soy frappucino because mine looked like a pathetic dollop and the barista hesistantly removed the cream and re-piped it again. In another incident, I was told that I only get a buy-five-get-one-holiday drink-sticker if I buy a medium holiday drink – which by the way is not true because it was not stated on the booklet. I had to argue my way before he finally gave in. I should have just walked across the street to Chapters next time.

So this is perhaps the busiest of the starbucks that I visit. Well, it actually isn’t because the Water Street store is _way_busier, however this one feels busier because despite how big the place feels it’s actually kind of small and there are so few seats that if you are there anywhere close to peak times your only real choice is to get in and get out as fast as you can, which will take several minutes. The staff here are lovely and the drinks and food are up to the usual standards but what makes me like this one is actually that at off peak times it’s kind of awesome to shop the chapters, great a tea and then sit down and read. Seriously, putting Starbucks in their locations was maybe the smartest thing that Chapters ever did. I also really like how a bunch of the seats overlook the main floor of chapters so you can totally get away with people watching the crowds shopping, which isn’t creepy at all.

It’s a small little café, limited seating, but you can share a booth if you see only one person sitting on one side. You’ve got to muster your courage. There are only four booths that can fit two people, a small table with two-three chairs by the window and only one table outside that can fit two-three people. This is more of an in-and-out sort of Starbucks. The Baristas are kind and very fast. I’ve not had any unpleasant experiences here. The staff are all smiles and accommodating!

I have so had it with this place. I purchased a via that was so dried up it wouldn’t come out of the package. I brought it in with the box.(Luckily, I kept it). Here’s the convo: Me: «I purchased this and it’s dried up. I’d just like to exchange it.“‘ Them: „Do you have a receipt?“ Me:“Um, I come here every day. I don’t always save my receipts. No. I have Gold or whatever-it-is status.» Them: «Well, you’ll have to go somewhere else like where you purchased it, since we have our inventory to look after.» Me: «It’s Starbucks. I’m an elite member. I didn’t see that this was about to expire.(Labeled in fine print on the bottom.) Does it really matter what SB I purchased it from? Them: Shrug. They charge me for my latte. Then in a snide remark, «Have a nice day.» Me:(hesitates) Then, «Have a nice day, too.»(Why let them win and think that THEY were the nice ones?) I storm out, in disbelief, coffee still firmly held in hand in lieu of dumping on heads.(JK of course. I mean, I’m not crazy.) They go to the back to whisper and discuss. Needless to say, I went to another SB, who had no problem exchanging it. Period. I will seriously NEVER go here again unless too lazy to walk elsewhere. I feel like reporting them, but then again, I don’t have much faith in that, either. Why do I bother? No wonder the turnover is so high at this particular store. These people are the rudest of any SB in North America, and their employees are just plain idiots who must have skipped the«customer service orientation day»(at this location, anyway). And I say that without apology.

It’s beside the Chapters and has lots of seating in slightly off times. Big and bright, good staff.

Taking myself out for a stroll on a weekday evening, I decided that I really deserved a treat and the first thing that came to mind was a «tall green tea latte with soy, half sweet». Okay, you can think what you like but I LOVE this drink and only Starbucks makes it the way I like it. I was delighted to find the Starbucks at Chapters open(I guess it was about 8:30pm), and not only was the drink made to perfection, I enjoyed the experience in the store. The girls were really nice, and I drifted away while waiting, listening to a live version of Tom Waits«Cold Cold Ground» that I’d not heard before. Mmmmm… dreamy!

I could possibly be a regular here as I’ve worked in the area for many years. There came a time when I would walk in and the manager would just start getting my drink ready. I am one of those that always sticks to what she likes which in my case is a non-fat caramel macchiato. Yum! I am no longer at this location on a daily basis as I don’t take transit into work any longer but I still do go in at least twice a week on my lunch break. It is a great location with Starbucks being connected to Chapters. Get your bevy and then peruse books. A great lunch time activity.

Neither good nor bad. Sunday mornings are a bit crowded with yuppies who have just finished their running classes.

While this branch of Starbucks is a bit smaller than some of the other locations, the staff is consistently friendly here and you are a short jaunt down the stairway to get into Chapters and read away. High tables and chairs make it a decent location if you need to work on the computer, and there are even some cozy chairs near the window so you can watch the incessant mayhem at Granville and Broadway.

Am open letter to the Jerks that stood in my way at Starbucks: Dear Jerks, I think it was SUPER rude of your group to stand around loitering and chatting in front of the Starbucks entrance while a caffeine deprived, blood level crashing, and full bladdered gay man needed to get in. It’s rude, you are all jerks. Yours Truly, Kreag PS — the staff was pretty good… quick. a bit rude but I don’t blame them ’cause they just had to serve the jerks out side… they got me a coffee and my lasted obsession — the Polar Bear Cookie — I got to pee… and I was on my way… with the loitering group still loitering… JERKS… Thank you

so it’s sunday morning and my maid is on strike and he refuses to cook me an eggy breakfast(I am gonna be slapped for this one) I put on my duds and head on over to Bukkies and get me an egg and pepper bacon breakfast sandwich, and I have recently also discovered their pumpkin spice latte. Does anyone else find it kind of strange that you ask for a non-fat latte and they still ask you if you want whip cream on it? hmmmmm
