Best flat white in the city, hands down. I wish this café was a bit bigger, and the seating a bit more comfortable(not conducive to reading or working really). But the coffee? Fantastic.

In a city full of cookie-cutter coffee shops with no soul and service, this joint really stands out. They have a really small space but definitely good customer service and friendly staff keeps me coming back. The décor is very minimalistic with clean furniture and a rather west coast rustic feel. Also the pastries are delicious and baked freshly in house. My favourite drink is the Hazelnut Latte which is truly delicious!

This was an ideal find in South Granville, the baristas were friendly, the espresso was pulled with perfection and the milk was steamed with precision. Hands down the best place to get a short latte in South Granville.

I actually saw this on Kathleen L.‘s coffee list. There hours of operation kinda suck. Open until 4:30 pm and then only 9 — 1 pm on Saturday… makes it odd to actually get out here which is a shame unless you want to wake up at 7:00 am on a weekday. Considering that it is always a busy intersection this is business suicide with their hours of operation. For starters the place is very small. There is a area to sit down, however, not to work as you would be leaning with a sore back. There is a small selection of pastries. This is more of a grab and go situation. I had the Nutella mocha which is basically mocha with a bit of hazelnut syrup. I didn’t taste Nutella really, however, the flavor combination was decent. A small 8 oz ended up being around $ 5.15 cents which is the most I’ve spent for a mocha. Customer service was good. The only downfall is that it’s so small that I’ve missed it so many times while waiting for the B-line throughout the year. Perhaps a sandwich board to direct customers would been helpful to increase future traffic. So why the 4 and not 5… the price margin needs to be a bit better, especially since they were using syrups and not actual Nutella which I understand is $$$.

I think this place is a hidden gem! I have lived around the neighbourhood for about a year but nothing really«calls» me in to the place. But I finally get around to trying out this place. 1. First of, I am not a coffee drinker, so I can’t comment on their coffee quality 2. However, Dose has a very cute and cozy space inside their coffee shop to hangout. It is surprisingly quiet since most people just do take out coffee I am guessing 3. Their pastries are amazing! Oh my God, I am so in love with their pain au chocolate! I also tried their Nutella Mocha, which is only ok I think. It is a very innovative idea but I honestly can’t taste the Nutella which makes it just plain Mocha for me. But I will definitely come back for snacky things! Please also make breakfast muffins !!

Has to be one of the earliest closing coffee shops in the world, yet it’s close to one of the busiest corners in the city. Strange. And they don’t post their hours on the door. Would’ve given 5⁄5 if not for their early closing of 4:30

Best coffee in town. Also home made and first rate pastries. My son from Seattle heads to Dose on arrival for quality he is used to at Stumptown and Vivace.

While in the neighborhood, we came here to get coffee and ultimately ended up buying a nutella mocha and London fog. Both were just okay, the mocha was for sure better than the London fog. They have a few chairs and tables inside and it is a really small place to sit by and grab a drink.

Great coffee and attentive staff. This coffee shop loses points in that its more or a grab it an go kind of place. Not much seating other than a small bar area and a communal table. I’d really love to give it a higher score because I did actually really enjoy myself but it’s just not that great if you want to meet people or relax.

This is a sweet little spot serving up locally roasted Origins coffee. It’s a hip vibe with well curated art and retro décor. I appreciate the gluten free option on the cookies baked by a local artisan. Quality product, good service, and best of all, not a chain.

If you were smaller, I’d miss you. Literally. But now, I have no choice but to kick myself. How did I not notice that they’re serving up the locally roasted(and my favourite bean) Origins from Granville Island? For shame on me. Heed the take-away advice of other Unilocalers. There’s really only one table and a couple of stools. You’re much better off grabbing it to go and if you’re on a social/meeting like calling(and it’s sunny) hit up the benches in the Vancouver School Board’s courtyard on Fir and 10th. Or in the rain, just savour the fact that you have in your hand, one of the most beautiful americanos around.

An oasis in a desert of terrible chain coffee dumps. It’s not my favourite spot in the city, but I live in the area, and, in a coffee emergency, I’ll take this place over Starbucks or Blenz any day. Smooth espresso with a nutty finish, perfectly stretched milk, very friendly and talented staff. Coffee is always consistent, which is where the staff’s talent comes in. I have absolutely no idea why people are lined up fifteen-deep at the Starbucks in the Chapters when, just across the street, there’s real coffee.

I’ve been going here on daily basis for some time. The whole experience is second to none. I suspect Kyle J is running a competing coffee shop based on his negative review. As an espresso fanatic I can attest to Tony’s extremely consistent technique resulting in a wonderful espresso each and every time. He uses Hines’ Origins beans which may not be my favorite beans but that is just personal taste. Dose is among my top 3 espresso café’s in town. It’s hands down number 1 in terms of consistent results in the cup. Elysian and 49th will occasionally make a more flavorful, nuanced espresso but depending on who’s manning the bar that day it’s just a crap shoot. Dose gets it right every time. I don’t drink latte’s much anymore but if you’re into that Tony has some crazy skills. Rosetta’s? Apples? Hearts? Forget that. On Chinese new year Tony was pouring DRAGONS!

My friend and I were shopping in the area, and she suggested we grab a coffee at her regular coffee shop. When we got to the door, a sign read closed, but there were people inside. The owner happily opened the door and made us drinks. We ordered the burnt caramel latte. The temperature was perfect, eye pleasing latte art, aromatic caramel that was nicely burnt and not too sweet. The espresso wasn’t over roasted and had a full bodied flavour. A perfect treat for the midday caffeine fix.

Lucky me. I happen to have the best coffee shop in Vancouver a block away from my office. Dose has been putting Americanos in my hand for a few months now, and I’ve come to really appreciate the place. Amazing, expertly prepared drinks. They’re a true part of the community; the staff is friendly and knows all of the regulars, and they even donated 100% of their sales for a day toward Japan disaster relief. For a small business, that’s huge. Go in and have a a drink!

Great coffee, great service — definitely a positive addition to the neighborhood :) Love their hazelnut mocha ! The brownies and croissants they have are yummy too ! Prices also vary from $ 3 — $ 5 range, next time try this instead of starbucks :)

There is something really charming about this small space that offers lovely selection of lattes and just-the-right-size treats. It’s only a 3 star because I rate coffee places on their espresso and I’d say this is average to good espresso. I don’t do the sweet coffees but according to the other reviews people find them fantastic.

Random tiny place a hop skip from the Granville B-Line stop. Came here during their Grand Opening day as it was BOGO Free. Staff was friendly and energetic. I think I ordered their Dose espresso, which was in a tiny cup but was easily the strongest espresso I’ve ever had. Definitely a to-go place as they have a dinky L-shaped bench seating by the window. Not very comfy.
