I’ve played pool at Soho Billiards a few times over the years. It’s close to where I live so it’s convenient. The place can definitely use a fresh coat of paint and some upgrades but in all honesty, it doesn’t bother me. They’re licensed and have a full bar. They also serve food but I’ve never eaten there so I can’t say whether the food items are good or not. There are about eight pool tables, some pinball machines and foosball tables. There are even TV’s around to catch games if they’re on. Not a bad place to go if you’re looking for something to do in Yaletown. It’s a bit of a dive, so if you’re not picky, you can really have a good time.

This is a great place to hang out with friends, play some pool and have some cheap drinks. Don’t come here expecting anything fancy. They just have simple bar food on the menu which is decent enough. And some good drink specials each day. We had the nachos and chicken fingers which were good enough. Their Alabama slammers are $ 4 on Saturdays and are surprisingly tasty. It’s a good space with tables to hang out at in the front including some on the patio. Then about 10 or 12 pool tables you can rent at $ 12 an hour. Plus a couple of foosball tables and pin ball tables. I’ll be back, but eat somewhere else before I go.

Super chill place to go late at night. The service is genuinely friendly and the beer is pretty cheap. The tables are cues are in good shape too. The usual customers there aren’t assholes or anything either. I see quite a few serious pool players there with their own gear. Overall a dope place to hang out and grab some drinks

They have pool and foosball here. If I come here it is because I want to go to a low key place in Yaletown and be able to have a conversation with whoever I’m with… Which is why I came here tonight. The booze is reasonably priced, was ice cold, and they have a patio. Although today there was a number of flies out and about. Thankfully the buggers didn’t disturb me too much. But I think the patio and outdoor décor could use a upgrade considering how the other patios look like at the other nearby establishments.

Avoid all FROZEN food over there… Really bad… Just like the keg… Never fresh… I got an instant headache every time… And my pals as well… So good for me I’m not Coo coo… It’s true… I ordered a bottler of beer last time instead. I was fine… Also the pool table are pretty beaten… And they’re not much room for playing… This said they got a dishwasher on site. Good. But I saw one of the owners(the mom), washing(gross) the beer mug by hand… Cuz the place is clean, even the bathroom… And as they got pinball machine in da back… They got two stars… But game over I’m not going anymore…

What a hidden dingy gem in Yaletown. It’s pretty much exactly what I was looking for — comfortable, not too pricey, full of pool tables. If only they had a better beer list. As it stands it’s pretty generic. Weird tip: they have Veuve de Vernay by the bottle for $ 39 so if you want to really hilariously class up your dive bar experience, go the sparkling wine route. It confused the bartender but they figured it out after a while. Also, the sandwiches are tasty and served until 10!

My visit was on Friday night at 9pm. Place was pretty packed and really loud music playing. Way too loud for a pool hall. This place is very much confused about what it is. Pool hall or a bar? It failed on both fronts. Yes, i get it, space comes at a premium on Hamilton street but ramming the pool tables so closely together plus the chairs and tables right next to them is a disaster. Everything is self serve, get your own drinks and food. Ordered a plate of wings that took over 45 minutes to show up. They simply forgot and didnt admit it. When we checked on the wings the response was a very casual«its on the way». It wasn’t on the way as I saw them scramble and put wings into the deep fryer. And the final straw was the bathroom… holy s**t! Raves on Popkum road in Chilliwack had cleaner bathrooms! NOT going back to SOHO.

You can’t beat this place. Just down the road from where I used to live in Yale Town, I was a regular. The prices are super cheap for Yale Town. Food is quite good, and the service is always super upbeat. The tables are a bit worn, but not shot. Great place to meat up with friends, before heading out or also spend the evening there. Killer Caesars if you are still suffering a bit from the night before…

Great atmosphere, clean, friendly staff, nice medium-sized pool tables. $ 12 an hour to play or 30 mins free with a lunch purchase! A great stop for midday billiards or a friday night chill!

I could not possibly love this place any more! The staff are so friendly, the tables are nice and great prices for Yaletown — especially if you go before 8pm. Very relaxed atmosphere and perfect for a chilled out evening of beer and pool.

What a weird spot to see in the heart of Yaletown, but it was cool. I felt like I was in a small town when I walked into Soho. Just get your drink on and play the pool, it’s a lot more fun. Especially when you’re with a bunch of drunken people you work with and you don’t see them in that state very often.

It’s nice that there is a plain-Jane pool hall in Yaletown. It’s reasonably priced and decent but, there is slightly too little room around the tables to be very good. The gritty atmosphere keeps away the entitled Yaletown riff-raff.

Had an amazing night there last long weekend.(Sept 12013). Good vibes, 9 – 10 tables In good condition and beer specials… what else do you want from a pool hall!!! ATM instead, clean bathroom with a funky wall — bring a marker ;)

Went here last week… service was lacking and the food was pretty terrible(for the most part). The pool was pretty reasonably priced and we had the place to ourselves, so we didn’t have to deal with crowds, which was nice. The really awkward part was when the bartender couldn’t figure out what song to play next. She kept skipping through songs halfway through them, it was pretty annoying. Not sure if I’ll go back here… didn’t really impress me.

I’ve come here once or twice with a girlfriend of mine who lives in Yaletown. I love the fact that I can drink and try my best to play billiards(my friend is a pro… beats me every time!) I’ve found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is casual, cool. I really liked it here, and absolutely will come back!

I’ll really have to go back to give a full review. A colleague and I wanted to get a beer after work and I had my dog. We went across from our office to Soho and the patio had all the tables and chairs outside but they weren’t set up. I popped inside and asked if we could sit out there. The server offered to come set up a table but I told her we just needed our beers and we could manage. Looking inside we realised we really need to get our team over there for some after work pool! We’ll definitely get on that and then I can write a full review.

This is the first of a five part review of a stag night. The SoHo is a great place to play some pool and have some drinks at your table(other places I’ve been to have a separate area for drinking). They were very accommodating for our reservations and they serve decent beer(you’re not limited to Canadian, Coors Lite, and Kokanee). I was getting pints of Sleeman’s Honey Brown while getting my ass handed to me in pool. Serves me right to play with one guy who grew up with a pool table in his home and another who is a hustling biker. Since it’s two blocks away from the Yaletown Skytrain on the Canada Line, I will likely be back. Their food menu looks tasty. The nachos and wings I saw coming out of the kitchen looked very appetizing. Outside of that, I’m looking forward to spending a couple of hours playing some pool and drinking some beer. Definitely a great pre-dinner place. Next part is for Hy’s downtown.

I love this place for what it is(cheap, casual, conveniently located) as much as for what it isn’t(cool, crowded, trendy). For less than the cost of a decent meal for one person anywhere in Yaletown, I can play a few games of pool, have a beer or two and hang out for a few hours. Don’t come here for the food: the only edible item on the menu is the tuna melt — but it is divine! The tables aren’t great, the cues are usually bent, the servers are often surly and the music varies wildly from song to song. But it’s a fun place for grownups to play games.

I have to admit I am no pool shark. I don’t call where the shots are supposed to go and certainly don’t care to much about the rules so I go just because pool is fun. Now the only way to take the fun out of pool is to put the pool tables too close together and too near the wall. That was the real bummer. Can’t shoot the ball properly if you don’t have enough room now can ya? It was a little too dark in the space but I think if you are hanging out in the pub area, you may find this a fun place to chill. It certainly doesn’t have the same modern atmosphere as the rest of yaletown which is a nice change of pace. However, if you want to play pool, hit a place like Guys and Dolls on Main and Broadway.
