This place rocks. Much needed addition to a great neighborhood somewhat lacking in the hip department. Coffee and space are great, and so are the baristas. Highest praise: R and its baristas are on par with Blue Bottle Coffee of San Francisco! QED

Just like the other brances, décor is wooden clean and sleek hipster. Small-ish, therefore, this is a grab and go situation. I got a single shot latte split with a friend. No syrup on hand and no decafe. Limited treats to eat on hand, however, an amazing bean as always. One of my favorite roasters in the city. Customer service was amazing and friendly.

Finally expanding out the east side and downtown neighbourhoods, Rocanini Coffee Roasters in Kerrisdale provides a very clean and trendy-looking spot to sit down and study, relax or enjoy any number of their hot beverages. I popped in quickly because it was new to the neighbourhood and grabbed a Ginger Fresh tea. The barista scooped the fresh ginger and leafy mixture out of a large bag, put it into little tea bag, resealing the larger bag for freshness. I really enjoyed this service method as it felt like I wasn’t just throwing my $ 3 at a pre-packaged bag of Tetley. The tea was amazing! Bold taste of ginger with lovely complimenting flavours. The seating area was industrial modern in its appearance and the stainless steel roasters and blenders made everything look very sharp. The light fixtures were also pretty neat. It’s still a brand new place so I am curious to see how the single employee would be able to handle a rush. Great addition to the block, a modern competitor for the regal/antique style tea shop down the road.
