Recycling Alternative

Been using the Recycling Alternative for quite a few years now at work. We’ve used the recycling service, where they come and pick up our paper and paper products for recycling.
We keep 6 large bins in our storage that we fill up with paper, cardboard, and shredded material and when they are full we give them a call and ask them to pick them up. Pick up is usually done the same week, but occassionally we’ve called later in the week and they have already done our area that week, so the pick up gets scheduled for the week following. Works out well for us.
There hasn’t been much of an increase in the price of the service over the years. They managed to reduce their fuel costs by adding new and more advanced trucks to their fleet, which allows them better fuel economy, so they didn’t have to pass on increased costs to the customers.
Great business, wonderful service, and very reasonable prices.

You know that Hoarders show? I use it as TV therapy to get myself to clean the house. Works like a charm. All the sudden my house smells like a chemical cocktail of Febreeze, Swiffer wetcloths, Windex, Pinesol, and sexay Mr. Clean.
As the rest of my house got tidier and tidier with each episode watched, I noticed that I had accumulated years of financial papers and other boring documents that I could not convince myself to recycle. (Cuz someone might get my personal info/​hack into my bank accounts or what not and find that there are zero dollars in there and take pity on me and pay off my student loans… anyway!)
So I went to Recycling Alternative to shred my paper (after breaking not one, but two shredders at home and spending hours trying to pick paper jams out of ‘em with needle nosed pliers). The Recycling Alternative’s prices are really fair, the website is informative, the receptionist is pleasant, and the dude that helped shred my 60 lb lifelong hoard of paper in just FIVE MINUTES was friendly and helpful. Handing them over 40 bucks for this service was about the best most satisfying money I’ve ever spent. Oh and they take credit cards, which is good, when all yer money is going to student loans…
Now my house is an immaculate, almost-​paper-​free zone. When I watch Hoarders next time, I’ll have nothing left to do but sort my socks and alphabetize them by colour. Or figure out a way to make origami ducks and swans with ‘em. Totally doable, right?
