When I was looking for a change of pace, I spotted a craigslist advertisement from R. Johnson regarding a position I felt I was qualified for. I emailed my resume and received a telephone call within an hour of having submitted my resume. I met with Kimberly the next day and she was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and supportive. She took the time to ask me what I was looking for and shared my options with me without putting pressure on me to lean one way or another. After our meeting, she set me up with an interview at a great firm that very same day.
Now I have an incredible job, with an incredible firm, and I couldn’t be happier. I would not hesitate to recommend R. Johnson to my friends, family and colleagues. Thanks again Kimberly!

I have worked with Richard Johnson, Kimberly MacMillan and their team for many years from an employer standpoint. Having worked with various recruiting agencies nationally, I can confidently say that R Johnson absolutely ensures that their candidates are have the required skill set and personality for the organization. I appreciate that R Johnson do not simply send resumes and flog their candidates; they truly care about their clients, both the employer and potential employee.
I also find that their professionalism, service and response time is top notch and I have always felt valued as a client. R Johnson is continuously my first contact when recruiting and I have no hesitation in recommending them to any employer or candidate.

I have been a client of Richard’s for many years (both at R. Johnson and other agencies). I have consistently found that Richard is professional, honest, and fair. He has always taken the time to understand the finer details of a role and the culture of the firm in order to provide the best candidates for a position. When I use a recruiting agency to fill a role, I want to be presented with a short-​list of qualified candidates who will be a good fit with the firm. Richard has always provided that.
When Kimberly MacMillan joined the team, I was thrilled. Kimberly also does the background work to understand client needs so she can provide the best possible candidates. Unfortunately some candidates feel they are right for a role when in fact they may not be. Yes, qualifications are important, but so is culture fit.
I am glad that some of the other posters were able to find jobs on their own. However, I am also thankful they were not put forward by R. Johnson.

I met Kimberly when I first moved to Vancouver and was looking for work. She was pleasant, encouraging and knowledgeable. However, this is probably the only positive thing I can say about this firm.
During the period I was looking for work, the firm rarely had their job posting list updated — the fact is that they don’t seem to receive a lot of job opportunities from the employer’s side. Most of the employees had a strange superiority complex. Just because people are looking for new opportunities, doesn’t mean they’re inferior. Other than from Kimberly, I never received any reply to my email enquiries, which just unnecessarily added to the stress of job search.

I gave my resume to Kimberly MacMillan a few months back and told her my intention was to get into a law firm. I don’t have much private firm experience, but I have an extensive background in legal non-​profits and government.
I knew that a request like this would be tough and that a job would not be found right away. However, under just 3 months, Kimberly found me the perfect role that is beyond well-​suited to my interests, talents and salary expectations.
I loved that throughout the entire process, Kimberly was realistic with me. That shows a great work ethic. She told me to be patient as my experience wasn’t ‘private firm’ per se. I was patient and it paid off, big time! Obviously, it was easy to be patient as I had not yet left my previous job yet (even though I desperately wanted to!).
Considering their recruits pay absolutely NOTHING, I don’t know how you can complain. I found a great job just because I had someone as awesome as Kimberly helping me in my job search.
I’m unsure as to what the below reviewer was explicitly looking for. A solid prospective employee does not rely on simply and only the recruiter to find them a position (I’m glad she found one on her own…), but rather, uses them as another vehicle (I repeat, a FREE one…) on their road to gain positive employment.
I’m recommending all my legal friends to use R Johnson in their job hunt. They are a great team to have on your side.

I have since found an excellent job on my own, but the R. Johnson employment agency in Vancouver, run by Richard Johnson and his part-​time staff, is a complete joke. I have met with Richard to discuss job opportunities and it was a complete waste of time.
Richard creates completely fictitious job ads on his website and spams craigslist daily with repeated fake ads in an attempt to find quality job seekers and to butter up employers to try and get them to use his agency.
In an ideal world, Richard would be a highly successful corporate executive with a private plane and whistling deals on a dime; however, in this average world, Richard runs a sham of a business.
