Super tasty meatballs and sauce for an appetizer. The caprese salad was perfect. We spilt a rigatoni with chicken, artichokes, and mushrooms in a pesto sauce… Pretty good, very rich. And big portion. glad we spilt the dish for sure! Super sweet staff!

Had a margherita pizza and it was … meh. But the Rigatoni Boscaiola pasta. Oh my god. So damn good. One of the better pastas I’ve had in Vancouver. Right up there with Ask for Luigi, Gusto Di Quattro, and Golden Boot (Burnaby). It was really really really good.

Had mixed feeling due to mixed reviews. Pronto had very good ambiance with good service. We were seated promptly and served accordingly. Appies were decent but portions were on the small side. Main course portions were much better and food was excellent all around. Will be back next time we are in the area.

Pronto is a great little restaurant with awesome food. Prices are decent and the portions are a good size. One of the best gnocchi with pesto I have ever had. Drinks are awesome, especially if you like gin and tonic — they make their own tonics.
The only negative with this place is that it is busy and they don’t take reservations. Not only that, but they don’t have a hostess so it is completely chaotic when you arrive and are waiting for a table. There are two sides of the restaurant with separate entrances and the staff don’t seem to communicate well about table availability. Once you are at the table, service is fairly good but again, pretty chaotic. Wouldn’t stop me from going back but they could improve on this really easily. I have heard other customers complaining about the same issue and I have had this experience each of the four times I have been there.

One of my favourite ‘go to’ restaurants since they opened. Also love the dreamy roasted veggie sandwich. Sure wish they would accept reservations!

Was looking forward to trying this place because of the good rating. But didn’t have s good experience. Green salad was like a handful of greens out of an earthbound box and not even fresh and crisp with just tiny hit of tomato and cucumber. Olives were good. Linguine with clams and salmon was just okay. Service was slow and non friendly. Won’t go back.

This is one of our favorite place. It’s been a staple in our neighborhood. If iam craving pasta, it’s the place to go. It doesn’t disappoint. Service is always welcoming and friendly.

Mixed feelings. Came here for dinner on a Thursday night and it was very busy. However, someone just finished paying their bill so my partner and I were seated right away.
We had the special of the day, which was rack of lamb, pesto gnocchi and linguini.
Rack of lamb was extremely disappointing. It was bland. Some seasoning on the lamb or a better sauce would of helped the dish but we left it untouched.
Pesto gnocchi was delicious. Really enjoyed this! No complaints plus the piece of prosciutto on top was a nice touch!
Linguini had nice flavour but a bit oily.
Service was very mediocre. Nothing to complain about. Nothing to rave about.
Overall, I’d come back!

We came here for Lunch after the recommendation of a friend and it was really a great experience!
We were greeted friendly and got a table right away, the drinks were cold and the food delicious, what else could you want?
Our waitress was from Australia and we had a nice chat with her, she did a really good job and we enjoyed our time.
We ordered some appetizers: Local Sardines — with tomato caper salsa, Stuffed Dates — medjool dates filled with gorgonzola cheese, wrapped in prosciutto and served warm, Kids Grilled Cheese and Prawns — wrapped in pancetta. Everything tasted really good and so fresh, it was a pleasure!
For Main course we had a Sandwich and two of their day specials: lamb chop with spaghetti and prawns with fresh linguini and sun dried tomatoes, oh my, our stomaches hurt from all that good food!
But we really had to try some dessert (there is always space for dessert, right?) and so we got the homemade lemon tiramisu and the chocolate lava cake — hmmmm…
We left with the feeling only being able to roll instead of walking and were really satisfied.
So my advice: come here, get some authentic italian food and leave with a belly full of deliciousness!

First time coming here. Food was ok, service was below average, unhappy and rude servers who seemed not interested to serve us.

Casual, comfortable ambiance with perfect house made pasta and delicious, not too overpowering sauces.
I very much enjoyed the spaghetti pomodoro and the seafood tagliatelle. Both of these dishes were flavoured and seasoned to perfection without being overly rich or overpowering. The meatballs weren’t all that great though.

Great place to go if you are hungry. I was extra hungry and got the special of the day. The service was great. The service was prompte and friebdly. I loved the energy in the place.

Very simple, bold flavours, really good quality products.

We came by Pronto as we had heard that this is a must. We ordered the Porchetta sandwich as it seems to have quite the reputation. It was incredibly disappointing! The meat was SO DRY… I don’t think they had any sauce or condiment on the sandwich which made the dryness a bigger issue. Not sure if it was just ours… but it was NOT worth the hype.
We had also ordered Sopressato Sandwich, which was much better but not amazing. Ordered the Cannellini Beans (Antipasto) — also okay.
The restaurant itself was cute. Fairly small, simple décor, had small booths for us to sit in comfortably. Server was sufficient.

Pronto is a very popular restaurant. The staff were visibly busy and customers can first hand see that much of the pasta is made in-​house which is amazing.
Regarding the food, I just was not blown away by the quality of the pasta, it was certainly a step above the competition however not the best i’ve experienced especially with the high price tag of some of the dishes ($ 18-​$ 26) a plate.
It would perhaps be a good idea for me to return in the near future to re-​assess whether or not my «A-​OK experience» was legitimate or not. Regardless, Pronto is going to
continue to be a very busy AND i must admit that I did not have the opportunity to try their very popular Porchetta Sandwhich, nevertheless this resto will continue to be a successful staple in Vancouver.

Sad they were out of all things porchetta the day we came here. Opted to try the house tagliatelle pasta and a pizza instead but the pasta sauce had barely any flavor (i was told it was a light olive oil sauce but it seemed more like cream), and the pizza reminded me of store bought pizza I had when I was little… Crust had very little flavor or almost stale texture, and meat /​cheese was oily and heavy, and flavors didn’t sync together. Disappointing experience for the price paid.

I drove by Pronto on Cambie Street many times and finally had a chance to try this Italian restaurant with friends. Indeed it was a good experience and good restaurant to hang out with friends.
The waitress was very friendly and checked with my table if we needed anything all the time. She said we were supposed to order everything and share, so we ordered caprese salad, stuffed dates and meatballs for appetizers. It was very interesting to try the stuffed dates, because the baked sweet dates were wrapped by salty Italian ham and there was cheese in the middle of the dates. This kind of food combination gave us an interesting and unforgettable flavour!
We also ordered a dish of linguini with prawns and porchetta plate to share. The pasta was fresh homemade which was excellent! Prawns were fresh and big. We loved them. The porchetta plate had a big slice of roasted pork with crispy skin. The pork meat was a bit dry that we had to put some mayo on when we ate it, but not bad.
I would highly recommend friends to try and dine in this restaurant. :)

Before getting on the road back to Washington we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat. I found some free wifi and jump on Unilocal to search for a few ideas. I found Pronto and decided to try it!
The area is adorable with a great walkable neighborhood with a variety of mom and pop restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee houses, pubs and record stores.
I felt like I was at home for a moment… Parking was brutal the meters only took Canadian coins so we were screwed, took awhile but found something that worked.
As far as the food… It kinda fell short. Except for the Meatballs they were amazing! Perfectly cooked, juicy with a ton of flavor and the red sauce was on point! The pizza was a fail and the pesto gnocchi was cooked well and had great flavor but it was a little salty. It was a nice portion though.
I honestly would come back to try something else and definitely order the meatballs again! They have a cute patio outback and the bar next door if you want a bar setting.

Good sandwiches, cozy restaurant, lovely waitress and easy location.
I tried a goat cheese sandwich. It doesn’t come with a variety of ingredients, but it is still good for those who does not want a caloric sandwich. The amount of goat cheese is pretty fair! Love the bread and the sauce too.
My husband had the famous Porchetta sandwich. It tastes good, but it is a bit too greasy. The pork meet comes with a big amount of fat which he is not a big fan of.
We thought the dishes with pasta were pretty expensive, although we haven’t tried any of them.
