I came here with my wife and 3 year old son who is battling a sickness and wanted some ice cream to cheer up. I am a regular who comes here about once or twice a week with my little guy. We normally bike from Falsecreek just to come out to this place. My little guy wanted 2 flavours today, but the double scoop was adult sized and way too large for him. Even the cashier said it would be way too big for him. They do not have kids sizes. I asked if they could do a single for him but put 2 flavours and a little less of each. Would cost them nothing, as he would still get the same amount of ice cream and have something manageable for him to eat. I got a no. The owner or manager, Francesca was in the back, I asked if they could make an exception as we were ordering 3 ice creams, are regulars, and it’s a 3 year old who is making the request. Still a no. Shame on this place. If you can’t respect a child’s wish, at no cost to you, you should not be in business. My patronage is done. Every ice cream store in Vancouver allows half and half. Any respectable establishment would make an exception for a 3 year old. I am taking my business elsewhere. I hope you can learn from your mistakes, because today, your ice cream has left a bad taste in our mouths. Edit: It’s a shame that other people need to come on here and make up lies about our visit. We did not make a scene, we ordered, sat down, and politely said we expected more for kids and have voiced our concern on Unilocal before leaving for the manager. I was never rude, and the cashier was very pleasant our whole trip. Goes to show rather than trying to improve an obvious business gap for the benefit of children, people need to post fake reviews to protect a shop from the honest ones. Why not take the criticism, swallow your pride, and make a change to your business for children — for we were all children once and they are the most sacred of all.

Prego’s coffee is delicious! Their staff is impeccably helpful and the location is great now that the building’s renovations are apparently done. I’m all for the coffee, they generally have some low-carb snacks in the counter too. Wife loves the cakes and my daughter enjoys their ice cream. I only wish it had more sitting space and extended hours. Wife and I will find ourselves craving a nice coffee within walking distance every other weekend, immediately think of Prego, but sometimes it’s 6pm already :(.

Wow. This coffee shop is amazing. I literally stumbled right in it on my way to see the fireworks. It’s hidden in a cul de sac so you really have to look for it. The place is small but full of goodies and service is f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s. I had one of their spaghetti and meatballs and a pastry, both excellent, and a coke. Total cost: less that $ 10 and you feel full. You can sit outside in the comfortable patio and watch the world go by(especially on fireworks night) while enjoying one of the best(and least expensive) meals in town. Definitely a go back.

Hidden in a cul de sac, right off the False Creek waterfront where on a nice sunny day, a good pit stop for coffee, pastries and panini sandwiches. Think of C’s, which sadly closed down last year or so, and you’re right there. Very small place, just 3 tables, and lots of goodies. Tried their biscotti’s…real Italian operated.

Wonderful coffee, treats and delicious gelato. How lucky to have a spot like this in the neighbourhood?! Just like living in New York. Comfy patio to read the newspaper and sip a coffee while you watch the world go by. And to say hello to the other doggies in the hood.

Prego recently came under new ownership and I have to say it’s a massive improvement. The space is warm and inviting, and they have delicious pastries and Italian dishes that are prepared daily, and everything I’ve had so far has been great. And the prices are even lower than the previous owners, but the quality has gone up. As someone who works down here and has few options, I’m pretty happy about the changes!

Great convenient location as we were staying at the Meridian at 910 Beach Avenue. My daughter really liked their lattes and blueberry muffins. It’s great to see a small business owner in the coffee business in this Starbuck’s town.

Small family-owned coffee shop, conveniently located for grabbing a cup of coffee or bite to eat while walking the seawall. Breakfast is tasty and good value.(Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, bagels, etc.)

The first thing to mention about this place is that it’s family owned & run. The lovely couple that own it are there from open to close daily and are friendly & greet me by my first name. Gotta love that! The location is convenient & it’s a good place to stop for a coffee or a bit of lunch when walking on the sea wall.

The couple that runs this place is very nice. I like supporting the little guy with the best of them, and the location is convenient. But I’ve frequently been disappointed with the freshness of their product — everything from a slightly stale piece of bread on the sandwich to wilted leaves on the salad to freezer burn on the gelato(they switched from the more expensive Mondo gelato to Mario’s unfortunately a few years ago). I eventually just stopped going.
