Specialties
The majority of our legal practice is real estate.
Over the past 20 years we have successfully completed almost 30,000 purchases, sales and mortgages.
Almost all of our clients are repeat clients or referrals from repeat clients, realtors, brokers or other lawyers.
Lawyers look at residential real estate clients in two ways:
1. transaction based; or
2. relationship based
Transaction based means low fee, high volume with minimal service, advice or follow up. The retail analogy would be Costco.
Relationship based means higher fee, low volume with maximum service, advice and follow up. The retail analogy would be Holt Renfrew or Nordstroms.
What does a relationship based file mean for a client?
He or she pays a few hundred dollars more, spends an hour with the lawyer (instead of 10 minutes) and can follow up with questions or concerns after the file completes without further cost.
You have to decide which option is right for you.
Do you just want the «transaction» done or do you want to fully understand it and get some advice that may save you thousands of dollars down the road?
Our practice is relationship based. That’s why 85% of our existing files on average are former clients.

Business Owner
I am a lawyer practicing in downtown Vancouver, BC. I have practiced in Alberta and BC in the areas of real estate, civil and criminal litigation, family law, wills and estates and guardianship matters. I moved to BC in in the nineties and acquired a lot of experience in real estate –which is our preferred area of practice. Information is power, so we seek to empower our clients by providing them with clear, understandable information about real estate issues to assist them to make informed decisions about buying, selling or mortgaging property.
