Ordered food through just eat and wanted to switch out the sweet and sour pork for sweet and sour chicken. Actually called twice about this and left a note in the note section about it. Order came(25 mins late) with SLIMY noodles when it was suppose to be chicken fried rice and the soggiest«spring roll» with gooey s&s chicken and to top it off my pork wonton soup came with shrimp in it… Literally everything I ordered was WRONG or INEDIBLE! Also my roommate ordered curry chicken and rice both came cold… I will say that their customer service is why I gave them two stars. I called to complain and they refunded me my money for the items I gave back within 10 minutes. I just can’t figure out how the reviews are so high.

I am both unimpressed as well as disgusted. I only ate at patterson wonton house once. That’s all I needed. I had the dinner combo(A) for one person. The sweet and sour pork did not have any pineapple which is a common accompaniment at most chinese restaurants. The pork was almost entirely made up of fat and gristle with lots of chewy breading. There was pieces of beef and bok choy which were not well drained of the water used to steam them so allowing water to dilute the other sauces of the mean becoming nearly a ¼ cup of liquid in the dish. If you can imagine a dish twice the price of anything at HOHO’s on Davie without the numerous choices or flavour. This place has the same interior lighting as a 7 – 11 convenience store. Why?

Easily the best Chinese food we’ve had in Canada! The family running it were the sweetest, nicest, and friendliest people. They were so happy to serve us and even threw in some extra spring rolls just because. And to top it all off, the food was amazing! We highly recommend Patterson Wonton House to anyone in the area and are planning to go back next time we’re in Vancouver.

Probably one of the best greasy spoon Hong Kong style restaurants/dineries in this area. Perfect for when you have a craving for fried rice or noodles.

Ate here based on the Unilocal reviews alone. Excellent decision! We were welcomed in like family, given a table and they customized their dinner for 5 to include our 6th. The food was very good and I have to point out the lo mein and spring rolls which were fantastic! If you’re skeptical, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I returned here for my weekly visit after a few weeks of vacation to sadly learn that the owners have retired, and the young guy(their nephew) has gone back to school. His brother is now working there, and was equally friendly and pleasant. However, I was a bit disappointed in the food quality and portion sizes, and sad to see that dine-in was served with a plastic fork and styro cup(were always reusable in the past, and a key consideration for me when it comes to where I eat). I have probably eaten here 150 – 200 times over the past few years, so I felt I owed it to them to point out my concerns, and hopefully Patterson’s remains the great spot I have always enjoyed. I will give it a couple weeks and return to update on whether it stays on the recommended list.

I usually come here if I need something quick for take out. It’s setup like a Flaming Wok style where everything is premade and the selections are usually the same day to day. I’m a huge fan of the eggplant tofu and the squid. They also have other options on the menu that are more typical of a Chinese restaurant as well. Overall, it’s decent bang of the buck here and there are times I struggle to finish all the food!

Patterson wonton house used to be in Richmond when I was a kid, and it was always one of my favorite places to go to. The wontons were always great, rice noodles, fried rice… Now about 15 years later, I find myself in downtown Vancouver, and I see a chinese place called Patterson wonton house. so I figured, I have to check this out. Turns out to be the same place, and still great food for good prices. Wontons are made fresh, and staff is still friendly as ever. I highly recommend for westernized Chinese food at affordable prices.

I’m staying at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel a couple of blocks away for work. I landed and went straight to the front desk to inquiry of local restaurants to order out. The gal recommended an Italian restaurant on Davies, two blocks away. I noticed the Patterson Wonton House and made an immediate detour. It was 30-something degrees today. What could be more perfect than a bowl of hot wonton noodle soup? I ordered the bbq pork wonton noodle soup and bbq pork fried rice to go — both under $ 20. The order took under 10 minutes to prepare and I was on my way back to enjoy hot, fresh Chinese food. The wonton noodle soup was excellent — fresh noodles, 5 wontons, big slices of bbq pork and bok choy. I definitely recommend adding soy sauce and the hot chili sauce. It comes in a convenient large plastic bowl. The bbq pork fried rice was fresh, a huge portion and definitely hit the spot. PLENTY of bbq pork. The service is great — the lady is very eager to please and recommend their large menu. The prices are reasonable, portions are large. I will definitely recommend and return. They will deliver to the Sheraton with an order over $ 25.00. Definitely give it a try. I would order off the menu, not the pre-made large portions.

Tasty, fresh, fast and excellent service! Had the eggplant, green beans, chow mein, tofu. Servings for take out are large. Def worth a try.

Terrible! Slimy! We were actually concerned for our health! All 3 of us stopped eating after a couple bites. I called and complained and asked for money back and was refused. Beware of Health! Don’t eat here!

My friends and I were just waking down Davie St looking for a place to get dinner and saw a sign for this place. Totally wouldn’t have known it was there otherwise. I wasn’t expecting much because the place isn’t the fanciest but the food was AMAZING and the hospitality was even better. Friendly staff and delicious food!

Not a lot to recommend for décor but the food is decent and value-priced. Portions are huge too. The congee was good, and the spicy squid was surprisingly tasty. Kind of a weird location, but if you’re in the neighbourhood and you are jonesing for Chinese, this is a decent place.
