Oh Urban Video. I have nightmares of you to this day. My beautiful AWARD WINNING wedding (won best reception of the year in Canadian Weddings) has no decent footage to showcase itself. I spent tens of thousands of dollars, hundreds of days, and all my blood, sweat and tears to create the perfect wedding, and it was perfect, but nothing to show for it on video. Thank GOD I went with another photographer. Their website gives the illusion of beautiful videography. You meet them in person, and they’re super professional and courteous. You pay them, and goodbye professionalism. You learn that they were so «busy» with their fitness studio (Urban Fitness) that most of their permanent video staff are gone, with only hired amateur temps stepping in on your big day. They were actually trying to contract your wedding out the day before! no one took it so they reluctantly showed up. We paid them for a full day to come earlier and get shots of the exterior. They didn’t show up earlier. They missed critical moments such as the bride and groom’s entrance to the ballroom and the first dance. They had the camera stationary at one end, showing just the backs of people’s heads. Only one of them is actually a professional videographer and he left early, so only 1 out of 4 cameras will have decent footage. Basically 75% of your wedding will be shot crap. The editing process was a joke, the editor was a kid with poor skills and taste. I could have done a better job on my own laptop and funny enough, when I wasn’t happy with my editing, the owner told me to «not give them so much credit and that I could do it myself on a computer with ‘Drag and drop’ «!!! On top of that, the owner, Eric, is extremely hard to find, hard to get in contact with, missed appointments (I was standing in the rain waiting for 30 minutes for my editing appointment) and was very rude and aggressive with a family member of mine who was supposed to pick up the footage. It took almost a year to get the poor excuse of a wedding video they slapped together. I hope they stop ruining people’s wedding day and just put themselves out of business and focus on that damn fitness studio. I curse the day I chose to go with Urban Video and wish them nothing but damages.

I could literally copy and paste the other brides negative comments down below as every single word of it is absolutely true. Except we finally received our complete (very poor quality) version 16 MONTHS after the wedding. When I asked UrbanWed for the already very late video — he had the decency to say that it’s my own fault for not constantly calling and REMINDING them to work on our video.
UrbanWed was the worst vendor experience we had for our wedding day. They missed ALL the key elements to a wedding (vows, speeches, exiting the ceremony as husband and wife, grand entrance and the list goes on and on). Even they’re contracted editor thought it was odd that all those scenes were not recorded.
This company is extremely unprofessional and rude considering the amount we had paid to hire them. Save yourself some money and headache & hire someone else so you can not only preserve your pocket book but also your memories from your big day!

To potential brides and grooms, I would not recommend Urban Wed/​Urban Vid. We used their video services as we liked the style they had posted on their website.
Here is what went wrong:
1. No communication day before wedding about arrival times, etc. Showed up 45 minutes late and said that weddings never start on time. We thought this was very unprofessional.
2. Video received 14 months post wedding.
3. Little to no communication back from them when asked if they had our final product done.
4. Sent us a highlight video that was completely amateur at the 9 month point as an appeasement.
5. Worked for months to get them to assign it to a video editor. They don’t have an editor on staff. KEY POINT — when you spend big bucks, you want the company to have videographers and editors!
6. Final product is very average. Didn’t include vows in highlight video and didn’t include a sweeping city photo like every other video they feature. We specifically asked for these things.
Oh, and we gave them a hot meal ($$$), a treat bag for the drive home and a very generous tip.
Additionally, they are now running UrbanFitness, so I believe their focus has radically changed.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that they did a famous Canadian skier’s wedding video. They aren’t producing the same quality videos as then and you will be disappointed.

The most terrible experience we had in the vendors we hired for our wedding. Very poor quality product! The wedding video was not ready even after a year, the grooms speech was not recorded and the list goes on. If you want to pay a lot and get a terrible service and product back go with them! I wish they understood it’s not just money, and it’s people’s memory of the big day they are ruining!

When you first meet Eric and his team they will provide you with the best customer service, answer all questions and be available by telephone all times of the day, the MINUTE they get your money they will be gone out of sight. After we left our deposit, we found it extremely difficult to get a hold of anyone before our wedding day to even confirm that they were still coming. When we initially met, Eric promised that he would be there as our main photographer, well low and behold the night before our wedding we finally get a hold of someone and they tell us Eric left to do a Mexico wedding (I guess it sounded better than ours?). This is completely unprofessional and the least they could have done was call and let us know. Well it only gets worse from here. The wedding clips that you see on their website are beautiful and so were ours because they spend a lot of time on them; the actual wedding video that you will receive is no where near this quality. the shots and angles used cut off people’s heads, I was the bride and was hardly seen anywhere on my reception video, there were no clips of my guests and the editing — well i wont even start with that because it was a tremendous mess. They have a policy where they will fix your video if you are not pleased with the first version, well again it was extremely hard to get a hold of them to get this done. Our wedding was in 2011 and we finally got a hold of them to get our video fixed in Oct 2012!!! Great Service ha!
My husband spent 6hrs in the studio going over the video making changes with the videographer who told him it would be done in 3 days. we call and no one picks up, we’re told eric is not in the office when we can clearly hear him in the background. now 5 months later (i kid you not!) we finally get a hold of eric who tells us the videographer who started fixing our video with my husband that day has left the company and he is the only one who apparently knows how to use this particular machine so our video isn’t fixed, its actually ruined, and there’s nothing eric can do about it (actually he doesnt even apologize). Our video is now worse than what it was. its literally in pieces with clips missing, audio missing in parts, etc. this is not acceptable for a business and no bride and groom should have to deal with this and have no video memories especially after paying $ 4000 for a service that was not delivered — HORRIBLE dishonest service, we will actually be reporting them to the better business bureau. If you dont want this to happen to you, please go with a reputable and PROFESSIONAL company.
Ps. the photos that you see on their website are also completely edited and they will NOT edit your wedding pictures, so you will not be getting what you actually see on their site.
