tl;dr Don’t hire this company!
You might
— be left in limbo on the day of your move
— experience unnerving lack of communication
— pay significantly more than quoted
— be defrauded of a couple of hundred dollars
Our experience:
1. didn’t call us the day before move out as promised
2. Didn’t arrive on time on day of move out, yet no phone call
3. Called Kyle to track them down. Finally got him on the phone. He was stuck 50kms away, busy with some other move. Fair enough, s***t happens, but he didn’t have our phone number, didn’t know our address, heck, not even our names.
4. They never showed that day, again, happens, luckily we could allow for some flexibility
5. Showed up the next day, first thing in the morning — yay.
6. Told us he misquoted and needed an extra guy — i.e. don’t trust an over-​the-​phone quote
7. Finished up in time promised, with one extra man. Except the promise of «you need only one container» proved false as well. I the spend another 4 hours loading everything else up into a uhaul. Glad I hired movers…
8. Two weeks later, shows up with one other guy, not two. Took twice as long as estimated. Still, I’m ok with that, it was the hottest day of the year.
After all the s***t that happened, we then got billed an amount that seemed high, even with the extra hours allowed for in step 8. In an e-​mail, we asked for a detailed breakdown. No response. We sent a second e-​mail. No response. A couple of failed call attempts later, we received this e-​mail:
«I apologize for the late response.
I have been away and am catching up. I did over charge 200.00 on the second days move and will get that back to you asap. Invoices as well. Thank you for your patience and business. Sorry to have left you waiting, I had to leave unexpectantly.

He sent this on July 15 — today is September 25. Of course, we have received no refund, no further communication, no responses. I gave Kyle another chance, e-​mailed him 2 weeks ago, giving him 2 days to make good on his word. Nothing. There you have it…

Thanks to Kyle and his team our move was super smooth, and as stress free as possible. They moved our 1 bedroom from Surrey to the West End in 3 ½ hours. Incredible! And it’s always a good sign when the owner is working as hard or harder than the crew. Kyle was super professional and a really nice guy. Hire these guys for your next move, they won’t let you down.
Also a tip for anyone looking for moving quotes: be honest about what you’ve got, you won’t save yourself any money by lying about those sets of stairs!

Moving is one of the most stressful things
It’s truly a lot of hard and painful work and asking my friends to help me when we all have jobs I just cant do anymore. I would honestly rather have professionals take care of it and im glad i did.
I spoke to the owner of kyle directly. I was introduced to him through a friend. He is a clean cut young and fit guy. He came across to me as a professional and well experienced guy. We got talking and we both love NFL and he used to play high level football himself back in the day. He was really friendly and I felt comfortable with him right away. I know moving can be expensive because it’s heavy manual labour but Kyle was willing to help me feel like I was getting the best value. He took the time to explain the costs and comparables to other companies and he price matched or beat them on certain things such as they had the lowest travel time cost and they were accurate with their estimate. Also they were fully equipped and provided the tape and wrap to pad up my furniture and that was my main concern because I paid A LOT for my couch. He’s the owner i could just tell he really cares about his clients and reputation. My move went smoothly it was a lot faster than I thought and nothing was broken or misplaced. Last time I used a company, which I won’t mention the name, ripped the back part of my couch. Again just from rough handling.
I highly recommend Parker moving and storage. They were on time. Young hardworking and very fit team. Polite and friendly service. Top notch. Glad I used them. And i will use them again

Moving is always stressful. I’m glad I was able to book Parker Moving for our move. Kyle is one of the most professional, keen, polite and prompt movers & coordinators I have ever dealt with — and I’ve moved a lot in my life! After calling several other movers around Vancouver, I was most satisfied with the quote I received from Parker. Very reasonable for a 1 bdrm move @ $ 95/​hour for two guys & a big 20′ truck. Plus, the travel time was quoted at a more realistic 15 mins. since we’re located downtown — close to their location, whereas other companies I called quoted min. 30 mins travel time each way.
On top of the fair pricing, Kyle and his guy who helped with the move were right on time the day of our move. This matters since the elevator we booked at the new place was on hold for 4 hours max. so we had to be very efficient. These guys were super, laying down protective blankets in our new condo as to not dirty up the newly steam cleaned carpeting and took extra care not to ding any walls.
Everything was loaded and unloaded quickly and neatly.
I highly recommend this moving company for anyone who has had a bad experience with previous dodgy movers, or is skeptical about hiring movers. Parker Moving is also insured, which is important to know when you have heavy furniture to move. It’s better to have pros handle this instead of your friends, who’s backs may get injured from lifting and moving heavy pieces. 5 stars all the way. Thank you Kyle & Parker Moving!

These guys were AWESOME!!! I would highly recommend Kyle and his team! We had a ton of stuff and lived three flights up with no elevator. These guys did it with smiles on their face and jokes along the way. They were super fast and efficient and VERY attentive to take care of my stuff.

Kyle has moved us twice now — from Calgary to North Vancouver in 2013 and recently a short move within North Van. Both experiences were great. We had a ton of stuff on the first move and I have no idea how he got it all in the truck. For a very nominal fee, he stopped on the way at my storage locker and arranged the stored items so that they all fit in the locker. Then on to the new place where access was difficult, but he got the job done well with everything else making it in one piece.
He seems to have different guys that help him with the jobs depending on size. The fellow helping with the recent move was a very hard worker. In Calgary, one of the local guys helping was not working hard enough, so Kyle let him go after about 30 minutes. All that to say that Kyle works extremely hard and ensures that those working with him do too. He is careful and conscientious as well. And very reasonably priced.

Don’t rely on Kyle giving you a call back especially when you are in desperately need to confirm their availability. He said he would call me back and I had to chase him down 4 time with no results. How disappointing.

Kyle and John did a great job helping me move from west end to yaletown. They arrived early in the morning and had a positive professional team attitude throughout the 3 hours move. I liked the way Kyle was able to deal with security at my new building which made the move in more pleasant. I liked the way we were able to work in teams and got the move done at a fair time and pace. We worked dilligently as a team and was noticed by another tennant at the building and she asked for Kyle’s business card. I thought that was nice lead and very complimentary to Kyle and his team. I might be moving again in few months and will definitely use Kyle and his team again.

Kyle did a great packing job for my move. The movers on the other end were very impressed with how well things were packed in the truck. We have unpacked all the boxes and reassembled the furniture and found everything survived the move!

My move couldn’t have gone any smoother, considering I was very unprepared and the move came up last minute I was actually quite astonished how fast and agile these guys do things.
I was several boxes short for my misc. items, and by the time I had voiced this concern there was already more than 5 boxes constructed and ready to be filled.
My mounted TV was carefully undocked, and my bedframe dismantled (and re-​built) in a flash of an eye. Above and beyond service for a moving company.
These guys are fast on their feet, and expert problem solvers, quickly reacting to outside factors like loading zone traffic and elevator booking times.
I really can’t say enough good things, they made relocating which is a notoriously frustrating chore a lot less stressful.
