O Mio Gelato

A new little neighbourhood gelato and espresso café.
They don’t make their own gelato and sorbetto, I believe they get it from their family friend who owns La Casa Gelato in East Van, and offer about 20 or so flavors for $ 4 a single scoop of $ 6 for a double. They are quick to offer up samples for the curious or undecided.
I opted for the spumoni and Nutella and my husband went for the tiramisu and white chocolate blueberry. I have to say that the spumoni was the hands down winner and I would consider spending the $ 8 for a half litre or $ 15 for a litre of it. The texture was rich and creamy and the small pieces of fruit were plentiful.
This part of town has been lacking in this type of business for a while and it is a welcome return. I look forward to having a place i can stop in to for a treat and sit outside at their tables. The gelato is not close to the best that I have had but the friendliness of the owners and the much desired product that they provide makes me a fan.
