I personally love the curry, over night oats, Black Magic, and last but not least the BEAUTIFUL girls Angela and Melissa. Super patient in explaining the benefits of raw foods and cold pressed juices. Décor is simple and comfortable, I could spend a whole day there! yummy treat and healthy juice and what a sight for sore eyes ! Although the food and juice is great, Melissa and Angela will always be the reason I return!

…the Berry Beetiful, packing apples, tomatoes, beetroot, and strawberries into a nutrient-​dense jam packed detoxifying juice. A refreshing break from my normal coffee run, the sweet fruity notes overpowered the tomato and beetroot flavours. I ended up bringing this back to the office and slowly sipped through the day. For me, it gives me one of the simplest ways to integrate high quality ingredients into my diet.

If you are going to try a health bowl I would suggest the cream of mushroom miso as a zoodle bowl (zucchini noodles). It’s absolutely delicious! Being vegan I miss that creamy taste and consistency, it also has a nice umami taste and this defiantly hits the spot for me. you actually get quite a lot of vegetables and zoodles with the bowl it’s quite filling.
All of the health bars Ive tried were also so so good and my favourite juice would have to be the orange glow.

So the latest trend is cold pressed juice. I didn’t and still don’t know what’s the hype about. I only noticed recently there are more expensive juice brands out there and being very ignorant about it, I once awkwardly put down a bottle of cold pressed juice at Spud when being asked to pay close to $ 10 (then with face all red and ears ringing, I bought a bottle of San Pellegrino water).
Been following the renovation of a new business on Instagram for a few months. Then it took me another month to finally pop in for a visit. The design and décor is very clean, minimalistic and hip. Just as I expected according to the Instagram updates. As I said earlier, I didn’t and still don’t know what’s the hype about cold pressed juice. Looking at the choices in the open fridge, I admit it was intimidating. But no fret! To the left, there’s a chart with symbols corresponding to the ones on the juice label. It’s intuitive and easy to understand like first time using an Apple product. Very smart!
I first tried a bottle of Radical Detox, felt very clean and refreshing. Then a few more visits later, with an empty stomach I decided to try Cocoa Monkey. It was a thick, nutty & chocolatey smoothie. Since I didn’t have time for lunch, downing it was very satisfying. I felt instantly manly about it as that was my Friday hockey night. I knew it would help, and it did (I believed). Then back a few more times for the nutty, chocolatey shake. I was addicted. Today I decided to go for a detox again and opted for a little adventure… Black Magic!
If I can turn back the clock and be much younger again, I can afford to care freely consume junk food and drink sugar diluted crappy sodas. But now at 40 something, living responsibly and making healthier choices, I know there’s a need to ante up on my juice budget. I’m an entrepreneur myself, it is only right to give back and support a fellow entrepreneur who’s worthy of supporting. Make a visit and I’m sure most will agree when it comes to quality, they sure take no prisoners!

I love this place. The juice is amazing and the food is healthy, fresh and delicious. They’ve really done their homework in choosing ingredients, as they are including the healthiest, cancer and chronic disease-​fighting ingredients available. I eat here almost every day for lunch and the hot bowls are fabulous, and they give very generous portions, especially for the price. Really good value IMHO. Try the rice bowl with miso mushrooms. It’s awesome! My favourite juice is the grapefruit heartbeet. You’ll feel better after you eat here. The service is helpful and friendly too.

I tried their 3 day Grouse Grind cleanse and lived! I loved how I was able to shoot Melu a quick email asking if it was ok to pick up my cleanse 24 hours from when I ordered my cleanse on-​line and Melissa was more than willing to accommodate my request.
I do warn those that are interested in trying the 3 or 5 day cleanse that you’ll need a car to pick up your cleanse materials, or better yet, get it shipped directly home. Melu’s cold pressed juices are all in 500ml glass jars so 18 jars for 3 days was extremely heavy. There’s no way you can heave it onto a bus or even your parked car if you parked blocks away.
The juices overall tastes like any other cold pressed juices that I tried. I definitely had ones that I liked out of the bunch and that ‘one’ that almost made me puke (radical detox).
My favourites was the black one and the orange one. They don’t taste anything like how they look!
I wouldn’t recommend the cleanse for those that already have a weak stomach, like me. It is, however, perfect for those that have a general strong stomach that needs a detox after loads of christmas buffets and dinners.

I was very excited to see a new healthy place to grab lunch open up near my office, so I stopped by to try it out. The ambience here is rustic & gorgeous. Packaging & branding, like the décor, is beautiful.
I had the Undercover Spaghetti & Meatballs + Radical Detox cold pressed juice combo ($ 18). Each item is $ 10 if you get them individually.
The salad portion was really tiny, like probably the size of a standard side salad. The already small plastic bowl was only half full. Taste-​wise, the vegan «meatballs» were very dry, even when doused in the salad sauce. The stringed zucchini was fun to eat though, since it looked like (& almost tasted like) pasta noodles. For a $ 10 salad, the taste was unimpressive & portion size was tiny. definitely overpriced, even for these hipster healthy vegan places.
The Radical Detox cold pressed juice I had contained: cucumber, pear, radish, kale, & bell pepper. It was refreshing but had a rather flat taste. So it was like drinking a $ 10 bottle of. lightly flavoured water.
Overall, I probably won’t return to this place again. As a foodie, I don’t mind paying a premium for small portions of great tasting food. Unfortunately, the taste of both the juice & the salad here were pretty unimpressive.

This place is so comforting and cute! The owners are the sweetest people ever, always up for a chat. Love the juices, the health bars (esp banana split) and hot meals. The hot bowls could either be done with zoodles or brown rice. The cream of mushroom miso soup is unbeatable!

I first heard of this company from friends and I have been following MELU juice on Instagram since their inception back from almost two years ago. It was refreshing to finally see them open a shop that contained all the goodies!
Finally my job sent me out to Vancouver I could come visit! The owners are very kind and we were welcoming to me on my visit. The space is quaint and well located.
I tried a couple of their items, a few juices and health bars, but they were low on stock by the time I got there. The Mangolicious bar is probably my favorite. All the juices were pretty good… don’t have a favorite. Curios to try their oatmeals.
The glass jars are kind of annoying. Not a fan of lips on a jar edges (weirdd). Also I wish they could lower their juice price a buck or two.
This place has a couple things I think can improve, but am giving it 5* because it is very promising and is refreshing to see a place like this in Vancouver.

I was happy to see a juice bar opening up nearby. I’ve been there twice & the only problem with this «juice bar» is that they don’t have any juice! Well actually they do have large glass bottles of juice that you can take home but there are NO glasses of juice that you can order either to drink in or take out. Crazy as it sounds it’s true despite being in the business centre with many thirsty office workers walking by outside.
When I asked about fresh juice in the future the embarrassed staff members said there are no plans to sell any juice. From their red faces I think they are asked that question a lot!
I give two stars to the embarrassed staff. As for the juiceless juice bar I’m a bit confused.

I really want to like this place, it’s cozy, the juice is good, the ladies working there are super friendly, but $ 10 for a 500ml jar of juice is way way too pricey for me to ever consider going back. :(

Last week I was invited to MELU Juice & Health Bar, the first cold-​pressed juice bar in Coal Harbour. Melu Juice bar is owned by two young beautiful ladies who are passionate about spreading their healthy super foods that contain lots of vitamins, minerals and live enzymes. Most of their products are sugar-​free, unpasteurized, vegan and gluten-​free.

Luckily I got a chance to try their 8 different juices and 6 different health bars! These are only a few of the items they have in the store. They have a wide range of creative, healthy juices and food.

Nicely packaged juices and detox waters — Cold-​pressed juices can be stored for 2 – 3 days unlike the regular juices you get from franchised juice stores.
Detox Waters come in a 500ml bottle. They use seasonal fruits and veggies with distilled water only.

Their Salads are one of the famous items — Raw, vegan, gluten-​free!
Most of their items were sold out around 430pm. Seemed like this place is getting popular very quickly!
MELU’s cold pressed juices come in two sizes, 250ml and 500ml. Each jar contains about 2 to 3lbs of of veggies and fruits. After trying 8 different flavours, my favourite juices came to be Winter Wonderland, Orange Glow, Berry Beetiful. Orange Glow consisted of carrot, apple, pineapple, tomato and ginger. Unlike my expectation, the ginger flavour wasn’t too strong. It had a hint of ginger flavour which I really liked. It tasted more like a carrot juice with some sweetness which came from apple and pineapple. I liked the fact that the sweetness didn’t come from sugar, but from natural produce. It was very refreshing. My second favourite was Winter Wonderland which consisted of winter melon, apple, kale, spinach and celery. I think this one had a good balance of vegetables and fruits. Both Orange Glow and Winter Wonderland promote weight loss! I think I will stick with these two!

My favourite health bars were Mangolicious, Cocao Banana Split and So Fudgin Good. Mangolicious Health bar consists of mango, walnuts, almonds, cashews, coconut mylk, shredded coconut, dates and agave nectar. I loved its nutty base made from all different sorts of nuts. So Fudgin Good tastes just what the name says. So many good ingredients used in this: avocado, coconut cream, coconut oil, cocoa, pecans, dates, agave nectar, Himalayan pink salt, strawberry and goji berry topping! The topping had a very silky, soft texture which was from avocado, coconut cream and coconut oil. I couldn’t tell this health bar was raw and vegan because I used to think that all healthy snacks are not tasty at all! It actually tastes similar, or the same as the unhealthy desserts I used to have… Cocao Banana Split made with banana, cashews, walnuts, coconut oil, shredded coconut, dates, cocoa and Himalayan pink salt. This one was also very delicious. I loved its topping which consists of cocoa butter and coconut oil. Everything with cocoa tastes amazing!
I personally don’t like sour taste so I didn’t like their Lemon Razz that much, but if you are a fan of sour-​flavoured desserts, you will definitely like it.
I liked MELU’s wood interior that gives warm and cozy feel.

MELU was a whole new food experience for me. My diet habit is really bad as I put lots and lots of sugar/​honey/​syrup in my coffee, and I also enjoy drinking extremely sweet frappes — can’t resist Matcha chillo from Blenz… Anyways, I am far from eating healthy, mainly because I think raw and vegan food is not tasty. I was glad that I got to try MELU’s food as it changed my presumptions towards vegan food more positively. I will drop by this place time to time during lunch hours! Although I am a B-​I-​G eater, I think some items can be a really healthy meal replacement :)

I think it’s not too bad as each item is made with lots of cares and healthiest, freshest ingredients. However if you are on a budget, it wouldn’t be the best option in terms of quantity.

During this tasting Team Tastic tried a variety of health bars with the punniest names.
Seriously, the names are: Mangolicious, So Fudgin Good, Kind of a Fig Deal, Frosty the Carrot Cake, Cocao Banana Split, and Lemon Razz. Most are funny enough and my favourites were the So Fudgin Good and Kind of a Fig Deal. The best part of these health bars are that they don’t have any additives or sweeteners to boost the amount of sugar that naturally occurs in ingredients like pecans and coconut oil. In fact, to make the So Fudgin Good creamier, there’s avocado inside instead of white chocolate or straight cream. These bars retail at $ 5 each.
Now onto the drinks. They have a variety of juices and to differentiate themselves from the other cold-​press juicers in Vancouver you’ll find interesting ingredients like bamboo charcoal, jicama, and winter melon in a selection of these drinks. My personal favourites were the «Radical Detox» juice (cucumber, pear, radish, kale, and bell pepper) and the «Cacao Monkey» nut mylk. Like the health bars, these drinks don’t have any refined sweeteners and the ingredients are kept simple and clear. The 250mL jars are great for mid-​day snacks and the 500mL jars for larger meals. The cold-​press method preserves more nutrients compared to other methods which create heat and degenerate nutrients.

i was very excited for this place to open and it is a very inviting place to come into. i’m disappointed, however, that they decided to not go organic with their raw drinks and beautiful looking treats. and they use agave! sadness! i hope they will look into using and promoting organic ingredients and less processed sweeteners in the future.

I get excited when there is a new juice place that has opened up as I feel that cold press juice is the new pink. I came here earlier this week to try some of their «green» juices to cleanse the body post trip. What really impressed me about this juicery compared to others in the city is that they offer gluten free, raw and vegan desserts which is almost guilt free. There is still some high calories in the nut based ones, however, still feel as though you’re eating clean. Prices were fair market value for the juices and the desserts. I like the hipser brick décor inside.

MELU Juice and Health Bar is a brand new cold press juicery that opened on July 15, 2015 in Coal Harbour, Vancouver. This is the first cold press juice shop in the area and offers a variety of fresh juices, smoothies, detox water and nut mylks. The best part? They have these delicious raw, vegan, gluten free, and guilt free dessert bars made without any added sugars, additives or preservatives!

Let me first introduce you to MELU Health Bars. We’ll get to the cold press juices in one second (don’t you worry!). These health bars are amazingly delicious. No joke. They are not only raw, vegan, gluten free but also made without baking or heat to maintain the highest nutritional level.
My favorite is the Mangolicious Health Bar and Lemon Razz Health Bar! What can I say, I just love mangoes and citrus flavors!
MELU Juice’s cold press juices are pretty tasty. We tried all the juices and quite enjoyed the balanced flavors and combination of ingredients. Some are quite unique and uncommon in Vancouver juiceries — ex. winter melon and Jicama.
Melu Juice has three different nut milks made with activated almonds:
