I found this place on my first trip to Vancouver, BC and love this place. They have some great home style Indian snacks and lunch items. The lentil soup, chicken rolls and Pakoras were out of this world. Their Chai was great too. The woman working there is extremely friendly and had great suggestions on what to eat from their menu. I can’t wait to visit that place next time I’m in Vancouver.

I don’t want to give them 2 stars, really. Their food is good, probably worthy of 4 stars(which is really the only reason I’ve continued to go there occasionally). Their chicken rolls are incredibly tasty. The food is a bit more pricey than it should be, especially given that their portions are less than generous. The service, however, is absolutely terrible. I’ve gone in numerous times, seen no one around, and had to wait three or four awkward minutes before anyone emerged from the back to help me. Even after that, the wait is regularly close to 15 minutes to actually get your food. But the final straw was when I went to get some takeout with a friend of mine, and they didn’t even ask him for his order until mine had already finished. It literally took us 30 minutes to get our orders to go(and about 15 minutes before my friend’s order was even taken), when we were the only people in the restaurant. I’m done with them for good.

I’d like to give this place 3.5 stars, really. The lunch I had today was good. You have to consider the fact that this is an indian fast-food café style place, not a sit-down buffet. My order was made fairly quickly, the staff were friendly, it was hot, and the dosa was great. I’d come back. It’s near my office and way faster and cheaper than going to a buffet. My one complaint was that the carrots in my curry were clearly just baby carrots that had been thrown in, uncut. That’s just lazy. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to coming back and trying their chai tea.

So, so good! After telling myself for the past several months that I need to try this little Indian café out I finally opted to go yesterday for lunch. Great choice to make on a rainy Vancouver day. I had the Vegitable Somoasas which were fantastic and the butter chicken wrap which was just as amazing. The woman running the place is so friendly and nice. If her personality doesn’t make you want to come back her food sure will. I am looking forward to my next lunch here. Oh it will be good! One word to describe this little Indian café. DELICIOUS.

I checked this place out this summer, as I thought they could use some business with the construction blocking access in front of their shop. I was pleasantly surprised! I had some interesting jackfruit pakoras and dip and iced chai, but they sold a few takeaway indian-style chicken pita burgers to the construction workers, which is going to be what I try next time. It’s nice to have an indian place that is more of a deli than the usual«Tandoori Palace» kind of dining experience. A good spot for lunch if you work in the area.

Awesome Indian Indian café tucked away in the corner. Not much to look at from the outside, but the food is great. The server is also the cook, a sweet and friendly old woman who offers a refreshing chai lemonade while you wait. The pakoras and samosas are crispy but not oily. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a multi-grained roti before, and it was delicious. The best places are found just around the corner :)

Dynamite home-style Indian, complete with a sweet Indian grandma in the kitchen! I first sampled take-out from this place from a friend and was wow’ed by their pakoras and veggie samosas. Now it was time to sample fresh from the source. We started with the pakoras and veggie samosas which came with a green chutney sauce. Perfectly fried and not oily, spiced to perfection, these finger foods were easily the best I’ve had. Enthusiastic about letting us taste as much of the menu as possible, the lovely owner’s mom brought out their lentil/cauliflower fritters that she just made fresh. Simply spectacular in flavour, I would turn vegetarian if the food tasted as good as this. For mains we shared the butter chicken, mutter paneer, and chicken(something something). All were beautifuly spiced and came with basmati rice, roti and potato salad. If that wasn’t enough, the owner also gave us free iced chai and one of their desserts. Very inexpensive, big portions, amazing value. This is definitely my new favourite Indian place in Vancouver.

* Indian fast food * The sign for«Indian Snack Bar» caught my eye and I wandered in. It feels very much like a standard café, but the menu items all have Indian influence. I tried out the mutter paneer. I was underwhelmed. The sauce was a bit goopy without a good spice balance, the peas appeared to have been canned peas, and the paneer seemed like the packaged paneer you get in a supermarket. It came with some rice which was undercooked(crunchy), a supermarket quality tortilla(WTF!!!), and a small salad(with that bottled Thai chili sauce you get at the market, a few pieces of lettuce and some frozen(WTF!!!) watermelon). Perhaps they are having opening jitters. But their reliance on items that taste like supermarket quality is not a good thing in my book. I don’t think I’ll be returning.
