Came here for a quick breakfast on the island. This is a cute little food stall in the Public Market and reasonably priced. We had the False Creek croissant — the croissant itself wasn’t special but still buttery and tasty, the fried egg also pretty good, the bacon was thick and crispy(nothing is grosser to me than soft wilty bacon), but the star of the croissant was the herbed cream cheese. It packed the biggest punch of flavor and was the perfect amount of creaminess. The sliced tomatoes were just the right amount of freshness in the mix of otherwise heavy ingredients. The only downside is that this place only accepts cash or Canadian debit card, no credit cards.

Nestled in a corner, this hidden gem packs a punch. The poutine fries caught my eye and had to give ‘em a try. Crispy fries doused with vegan gravy and sprinkled with Quebec cheese curds. Absolutely non-sharing deliciousness. Enjoy my friends. Only downside is they don’t accept credit cards so bring cash.

Great burger and fries. Super friendly staff. Took detailed info on what you did not want in your burgers.

As good as it gets. Good selection, good food, reasonable price, quick service and beautiful location. We just landed from a week of cruising in Alaska with fabulous food so we started with a high standard. Guess what? it was a sweet surprise. One suggestion. The burgers are too loaded with ingredients. My daughter took one burgers as is on the menu. Fell a part. I took a modification of the Californian(less 2 ingredients) and it was perfect. Nice fries on the side as well.

Great burgers here in Vancouver! Buns are great, love the sauces they use, highly recommend the California burger. Fries are delicious.

One of the finest gems that I had discover in Vancouver is the Market Grill. One might say that good food does not fit in a market, but on the contrary(and since I come from a country that best flavor food is found on markets). I journey myself to Granville Island and ended up founding this mouthwatering place, and by the moment, my favorite burger restaurant in town. Market Grill is a luxurious food developer with an appearance to be cheap, but you get for what you’d pay. My favorite dish are the Blue cheese burger, but that’s because I like strong flavors(in beer from a pale ale to a stout, please), you can choose from salad to french fries a side, and for the thirsty palate I recommend the strawberry lemonade. Yes, the market is crowded, but why eating inside when you can join the sunny day? get out to the template, enjoy the view from the island to Vancouver, but one TIP: be aware of the seagulls, cause they are hungry and this hamburgers are amazingly delicious.

Small stall that sells basic burger and fries. It is okay, however, on a summer day out by the water it is good to have the basics in hand. Decently priced, speedy service and customer service was good but the burger and fries was just average. It was more about a comfort blanket experience than it was about looking for something actually gourmet.

Solid 3.5. At first, I was a bit hesitant b/c feel like Granville Island can take advantage of tourists but what the hay, I love the chicken @ L’epicerie Rotisserie and the chicken noodle soup at The Stock Market. Located in the corner right by the pier. Asked the nice fella what were the favourites, he said the deluxe(basic cheeseburger), California, and Salmon… before he even finished the word salmon, I cut him off, to me, that’s not a hamburger lol but I digress. Went with California b/c of the sauteed mushrooms, this special herbs sauce that some fellow Unilocalers said, and boy were they right! It’s more of a sauce, some good wet stuff and sadly, overtook the good 5 ounce patty. Only drawback was the bun, pretty plain. But I would order this again, just not right away. Comes with choice of fries or caesar salad, made in house, not too garlic-ky.

The Market Grill uses culinary insight to produce wonderful results for the consumer. The food was available quickly. Poutine and a soda were available for under ten dollars. It was not an exceptional meal, but it most assuredly was a good one. The poutine had fairly good fries and the gravy was sparse. The cheese curds were delicious. Flavor was rampant. This place is worthy of your time whilst in the market.

I’ve been eating here for almost 30 years and agree that burgers and breakfast BELCHs are among the best. I’ve been asking the owner to bring back the pea meal bacon, egg and cheese sandwich they served years ago, it no luck — that was one happy knee buckling sandwich. ate there today and was surprised to see their Californian Chicken Burger priced at almost $ 14 — that a pretty spendy burger in such a casual operation. Cheapest burger was over $ 11. When did they hike the prices that much?

This is by far THEBESTBURGER in Vancouver! I just can’t make it past the teriyaki chicken burger, and the fresh, amazing burger buns they use. We also go here for breakfast just about every Sunday morning. We love the RC Scrambled and the waffles! The owner, Cal, is so personable and takes such care with all his customers. It’s so refreshing to find a place like this. They will be in business forever, because they are doing everything right!

Below is my original 2-star review. The buns have improved so have upgraded to 4. 2 stars might be a bit unfair because I’m only reviewing the hot dog. At one time I thought they had the best dogs in town, paired with their excellent fries it was a good meal. But they changed the buns a year or two ago and they’re now practically inedible. Each bun is like a loaf of wonder bread. Tasteless and way too thick, too bready.

Salmon burger was well seasoned and tasty. The caesar salad was fresh even though it was near closing time.

I come here for the salmon burger. The one with the honey and tartar sauce. It’s a damn tasty wild salmon filet. Their kaiser bun is perfect: airy on the inside, toasted on the outside. Wrapped up halfway, old-school style. The accompanying fries are a favourite of mine: wedge-cut, unsalted. I seriously don’t miss the salt at all with these fries, as crazy as that sounds. My wife goes for the Lite Delight veggie burger, which she claims is the best in town. I’ll take her word for it. The best part is that it’s located in the public market, one of my favourite places to visit in all of Vancouver. Yes it’s touristy, but the place has a magic feeling in the air, even to a local such as myself. There are so many stalls you can visit. I always grab a lemonade or citrus iced tea at the pie place across the way to go with my burger. It’s a killer combination, trust me. Good luck with seating on the weekend!

Wow what a great burger. We ordered the Market Special with mushrooms. Boy, I couldn’t get over how juicy and sweet the beef patty was. I wasn’t particularly hungry so I told my partner to order one burger and that I would have one or two bites. After it was all said and done, I probably ate more than half. Since this is a food stand inside the public market, seating can be limited. People are generally very friendly and willing to share their table with you. We shared a table with an Emily Carr student, who said that they ate at Market Grill almost everyday. The prices are similar to other burger joints across the city, so I don’t think this place cost more, especially since they make their own buns and the ingredients seem very fresh. Very pleasantly surprised considering the mixed reviews. I’ll definitely be back for more.

It’s good. Nothing more, nothing less. You can’t complain on something that is decent and the price is right. They make a burger for you on the spot, and the fries are wedge fries. Seasonings are on the side so that you can add whatever you want more or less of.

Pacific Gold Salmon Burger($ 10.00+) choice of Salad or Fries side. The Salmon Burger itself was quite delicious even when it reminds me of one of the Sandwich forms from McDonalds. Maybe the flavour had some slight resemblance as well from that first bite. It sounds like I’m negatively reviewing the Market Grill but aside from the Tourist pricing, everything was done well and kept in simplistic method as a Market Grill should. Once again much like their Granville Island Food Stall counterparts the price is relatively similar. Friendly staff willing to help me with my order when someone clueless took my Pacific Gold means they gain the full 3 *Stars* in my books.

This place was a four and a halfer a few years ago, but alas it has gone downhill. They still serve up a tasty chicken burger(my fave is the Cajun) and the side of caesar salad is still top notch. It’s just the size that has changed. Smaller chicken breast and bigger bill. Oh well, still a great option for quality fast-ish food on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

You know what? Market Grill is exactly what it should be, and could be. You want a dog? great dogs, good price. You want fries? Excellent crispy fries, good price. Burger? for sure you got it. And the customer service is friendly and COHERENT which I have to give stars for these days.(Sorry if that’s offensive.) The Grill serves it right, and you can eat outside on the water listening to live music. What more could you want from anything with«Grill» in the name?
