Man Cave Barber Shop – Yaletown

Got a hair cut here for the first time today and was SUPER impressed. Very cool vibe with music, mens reading materials and old school video game. The hair cut was perfect and for only $ 25!
Mine was cut by Sora. She was terrific. Will come here from now on. They also do shaves, will have to give that a try one time too.

Went to the mancave today. Asked the barber to make the sides even and keep the top long. What does he do? Gives me a comb over and cuts the top. I tell him Im not happy with the haircut and he starts raising his voice at me arguing that this is the right hair l cut when I specific told him instructions. I tell him just complete it so I can go and he keeps arguing and making me more angry. The apparent manager who had no clue on the haircut I wanted comes and says its correct. Umm ok. I get up to leave and the manager comes and asks me to shake his hand multiple times. Im thinking I dont even know you. So weird…
This could have all been avoided with .“sorry, how can i fix this”, rather than arging with me.
Such poor service. Time to find a new barber

Avoid Man Cave at Yaletown at all cost if you want to look above 13 years old or evenly remotely employed…
All I can say is that this place is inconsistent. If you get a good barber the first time, consider yourself lucky! If your circumstance is more like mine today, however, expect your barber to not listen to your wishes at all, give you the same juvenile undercut with an outrageous line as he does all of his other clients (of course without consulting you prior to making the drastic cut), and rush you out of the chair in under 10 minutes.
I had multiple positive experience with David at the Metrotown location. Thus, I expected the same quality of service here but I could not have been more wrong. I give it two stars for the price ($ 25) and the arcade machine near the door. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location.

Asked to leave my hair long and just take it down a bit on the sides and at the back. Result… Shortest haircut I’ve ever received. Will not be returning.

Solid five stars for quality/​style/​value. I heard about this hair salon from some friends so I decided to give it a try on a Sunday. Both my son and I had haircuts. The shop looks really nice, very well lit, clean and has lots of artifacts to amuse you while waiting. The staff were really friendly and tool care of my son while having my haircut. Not to mention that our stylist (I think her name was Maryam) did an amazing haircut for both of us. For this quality in Vancouver you would probably have to pay more than double the price. I’m super satisfied and will definitely be back!

Cool spot. Paid $ 21 for a fade. That’s a good price considering other barbershops are $ 25-​$ 40!
I’d recommend either Sam (the owner?) or Zorian for a fresh cut! Nice guys with a talented flicka-​the-​wrist!

Mancave Brand is growing and rightfully so. The business is moderately priced and provides great value at the place it is currently open.
Today, i got a beard trim for $ 11.20 (taxes included). The guy was courteous enough to take some time and trim the sides and even put some beard oil on.
Overall, for the price and service, I was happy.

The BF moved up to Seattle from Cali and needed a new place to cut his hair. He works long hours Mon to Fri so when he visits me in Van on the weekend, he likes to get all this kind of stuff out of the way and what not.
The salon is beautiful from a really cool, aesthetic point of view. The service you receive there is great as well. The waiting area is comfortable and they have water in the fridge for you. Everyone who works there is very professional and personable from what I can see so far, and my boyfriend usually comes out with a great cut. We’ve been to the Yaletown location a few times, and their Metro location twice, only because we were told that this location was not open on Sundays. That only leaves us with Saturday to get his hair cut and that doesn’t alwaysss work out for our schedule, unfortunately. Nonetheless, he likes it enough to head over to Metro if he must (we live DT).
Noor does a great job with his hair. There was one other guy that my bf liked too but I forgot his name — sorry! :) Whenever these two cut my bf’s hair, he always gets compliments from his friends & coworkers. Oh and from me too! :) the guys at ManCave take care of him and he comes back looking sharp.
I docked a star off for two reasons. 1 — because the last guy cut his hair shorter than what my bf had asked and he wasn’t too fond of his new look. I think the barber knew that it wasn’t what my bf had hoped for and kept asking if there was something he could do to change it, so we do appreciate that he tried. We’ll have to wait for his hair to grow back before trying to fix it though. And 2 — because the third time we went there, we were told it would be a short 10 to 15 wait to get his hair cut with a particular barber. We ended up waiting 35 minutes before leaving because we had to be somewhere and would’ve been late otherwise. I would’ve appreciated a more honest approach in terms of time so we could’ve chosen to leave and come back another day/​week instead of waiting around for half an hour.

I have been passing by ManCave on my way to work for awhile. The location looks stylish. My friend has never experienced a straight razor hot towel shave so I offered to buy him one. I went in and was told there was no appointment but could come in with him on an early weekend morning.
We arrived and due to my previous visit the barber was aware we wanted a straight razor shave with a hot towel. He proceeded to shave both of us with a razor blade not a straight razor. My friend was cut several times during the procedure.
Ultimately neither of us got a really close shave or had an excellent experience. I had to re-​shave with a regular razor when I went home along my neck line and near my ears.
The only thing keeping this from one star is the ManCave looks awesome and the barber was pretty friendly.

Here’s the back story: I’d been sporting a pixie cut for a good year, and recently took the plunge with a more asymmetric-​style with a close cut (shave) on one side. My usual hairdresser made a valiant attempt but after an hour in the chair, I left feeling «meh» about my new cut. Two weeks and I’d begun to hate trying to make it work.
Chanced upon the vanCityBuzz write up on the ManCave in Yaletown last Friday, checked out their instagram, posted a comment asking if they’ll do my hair (figured it’s only polite: it’s called the ManCave after all and I’m not a man), and wandered in that evening.
Walked into a space that somehow very nicely balances IMHO almost-​rustic, classy and no-​fuss all at the same time. Sam recognized me from my IG-​profile snap I think. I waited for a few while he finished up with his current client and then had my first barber experience — ever.
Cheers to Sam for a killer cut, being helpful and making me feel so comfortable. I’ve told everyone that’s complimented me on my hair to give the place a go!

I’ve been here twice now. I live close by so it’s super convenient. The atmosphere is great as others have commented — about 10 TV’s playing sports and overall, it really lives up to the name «Man Cave».
However, if you’re looking for a good haircut (especially a good fade), I’d recommend you look elsewhere. The hairstylists here are obviously not used to cutting men’s hair or just not very skilled, but both times the haircuts left a lot to be desired. Also, there’s no hot towel service or anything like that.
Pricing is okay at $ 21. Pretty reasonable for Yaletown, with a tip you’re looking at $ 24 – 25.
Overall, Man Cave is a classic example of style over substance, which was disappointing for me. Would not return unless I was in a pinch and really needed a haircut.

Awesome experience at the Man Cave. The name says it all. I’ve been going to sam for over 17yrs and the experience he has cutting hair is over the top.
The shop itself has a nice atmosphere. With a brick interior and the display on the left to the arcade machine as soon as you step in. Everything goes well, nicely with the best customer service and ofcourse the best hair cut. Ma man Sam is going to make you look your best in no time along with their expert barbers in the shop.
Highly recommended!!!

Just opened recently, and it sure shows; very classy yet with the heritage flair still, being in Yaletown.
Came in looking for a quality, non-​invasive conditioner, good service and prices, pay a few bucks more than the brands at Superstore or Shoppers, you’ll get a much better product.
Their impressive display on the left side, shampoos, etc, and shaving products, while not as same as the Art of Shaving, still pretty good.
Looking forward to my next haircut here.

I’ve been a client of Man Cave Barber Shop since it’s inception in Metrotown, and I’ve never left the shop dissatisfied in my year of patronage. Their new shop in Yaletown is trendy, yet they managed to keep the classic barbershop style despite their implementation of high-​tech gadgets like their iPad bar. Nick is my go-​to barber, and he has all the qualities of a great barber and business owner: he listens to his customers and communicates his ideas clearly, he’s a great conversationalist, and he is very customer service-​oriented. Did I mention that you can get a haircut there for about 20 bucks? in Yaletown… no joke.
