Needed brakes and rotors done on my Lexus GX460 and they did the job well. What made the service exceptional was that I was having a busy day and could not answer the phone until later in the day. Gratefully Max stayed after close until I was able to pick up the vehicle. Good show!

Thank you for fixing my flat tire today! Everyone was so helpful and patched my tire in 20 min and the fee was very reasonable. Everyone was very polite and helpful and honest as well which I really appreciated. I will definitely bring my car back here in the future! Thank you for fixing an emergency that could’ve cost hundreds of dollars so promptly and efficiently!

I called this Automotive placed based on friends referral as the honest mechanic but after calling several mechanics, I found that they were the most expensive. So much for the honest mechanic but I guess I can’t really blame them. Once people start reviewing them as the go to mechanic, they will get busier and can change their rates as they please. Too bad as I always work on first impressions.

Don’t be fooled by the reviews, this place overcharged me by twice the price on parts when compared to the dealer price. The manager/​owner made a big fuss when I questioned him on it. Beware and do your homework, ask for an estimate including parts before proceeding with work or else…

I have been taking my cars to Max @ Hu Automotive for the last 15 years. I can’t say I have never had any problems but Max always makes it right and I believes he charges a fare rate for the work done.

Max runs a fantastic local garage and is one of the most honest mechanics in the city! A BCAA tow truck driver told me that several years ago the Vancouver Sun took a car that needed no real work around to 10 garages and Max was 1 of 2 who told the owner you don’t need any work, your car is fine. He must have reset my engine warning light for me 3 – 4 times for no charge until one of his guys found a leak in a hose. The dealer would have charged me $ 75 a time. He does work on my Porsche Cayenne for a fraction of what the dealership charges and I love supporting this great local business! They are open on Saturdays which is very handy.
Very highly recommended!

One of the major obstacles that faces a woman is finding a garage mechanic who is honest, trustworthy and not ready & poised to strike at the underbelly of her wallet.
Mechanic=honesty is still one of the biggest oxymoron’s today, and I’m sure that some guys out there who aren’t mechanically inclined would give that a nod.
Thanks to friend’s recommendation, I’ve been taking my car to Max at Hu Automotive for well over 2 years and whatever I need done, I go in with the assurance that I’ll get quality work and will be charged fairly.

Whenever I go to have my car repair, I always get some anxiety in the pit of my stomach. It’s like going to the dentist and wondering how much is this going to hurt and cost me. Usually, in the end, I’m just frustrated. NOT this time…
I’ve had bag experiences about the auto department at Canadian Tire and the Richmond Honda in the auto mall is incredibly pricey. Luckily, a friend recommended me to this place.
First, it’s just a little auto shop and the owner Max works is there. He was friendly and was able to quote me the price, time it would take, if parts needed to be ordered in etc. He was genuine.
Second, much more reasonable in price of parts and labour. Need I say more.
Third, convenient location where you can drop your car off and do your errands or have a bit at the numerous shops in the neighbourhood.

Hu Automotive is the best garage with the best mechanics. My husband and I have been going there for many years, with different cars over the years (Ford LTD, Geo Metro, Ford Escort, Camry, Suzuki Swift), and they have always done an excellent job on every single one. My only regret is that they don’t service motorcycles.

I have taken all my vehicles to Max at HU automotive for years. He has worked on Mazda, Mercedes, BMW and Chrysler vehicles for me. Oil changes, timing belts, tie rod replacements, flat tire patching, various sensor changes, and misc mechanical or electrical issues. No surprises, just great quality work at great price. Max will always call if there if he finds anything additional work that needs to be taken care of, and will give you the pros and cons.

These guys were recommended to me by a co-​worker and they are awesome! The owner is very friendly, honest and won’t rip you off. Prices are very reasonable and way cheaper than other places I’ve been to. Highly recommended!

HU is great. I“ve been off and on to Max for years, and they locate the problem very well with professionalism and always fix the vehicle for a fair price.

I’ve spent some time looking for a new mechanic since I moved into the neighbourhood a year ago. Lucky for me a friend of mine referred me to Hu Automotive which is just a few blocks away from my place. I was pleasantly surprised with my overall experience; Max was very friendly and everything that I needed fixed was done properly and for an extremely fair price.
I’ll be back for sure!

Gosh, add my review to the positive reviews. I’ve been going to Max and the guys at Hu for 20 years or more and I have nothing but glowing praise. They always try to find the best deal on parts, never do more than they have to (or you tell them) and never over charge. They are always efficient and courteous. I have sent many friends there and no one has ever complained.

Hearing stories from 3 other people about their bad experiences at Hu’s prompted me to write this review.
A few years ago, I brought my Honda Civic in for a tune up shortly after having driven it across North America. It was running perfectly, but I thought I’d give it some TLC. After I brought it in to Hu Automotive for a tune-​up, my car stalled frequently (which it never did prior).
I brought it back on several occasions, and the staff could not figure out what was wrong with it. Frustrated, I finally brought it into another place in Richmond (Acutech). They identified and fixed the faulty rotor that Hu’s had installed in less than 10 minutes!
I tried to get my money back from Hu’s Automotive, but the manager in charge, would not at first. After much persistence, he finally agreed to refund me everything but the taxes. Why he couldn’t refund the taxes baffles me.
Since then, I have heard several people’s bad experiences there.
Sorry folks. Can’t recommend this place.
