I was spoken down to and over quoted from the moment I walked into my ‘local’ shop.
Scare tactics about safety were used on not only myself, but I heard almost exactly the same words used on another woman while I picked up my keys.
I took my car to a garage that treats me like the owner of my car.

Great prices, they did my tires really efficiently and after I got fed up with my last place messing up one too many times, I’m now coming here regularly for check ups. Great place!

Thank you for friendly, efficient, professional, reasonably priced service on our ancient US car that needed work done before it could be imported. Ed was very helpful over the phone, gave us an idea of what to expect when we brought it in, and when we did come in all the work was done within a day as he said it would be. We’ll be back if we need anything else.

Superb place, service, knowledge. Replaced all tires in my car, and everything was done superbly well and for a good price — after shopping around quite a bit.
Am even considering them as a regular service for my car (Subaru Outback), since I am not willing to pay fortune for the hourly rates at the dealer.

If I could give a 6^th star I would! I found Grandview Tire & Auto Centre from Unilocal after I was fed up with my mechanic’s diagnostics (every time I went in he would find something wrong with the car and charge me). I took in my Cheep Cherokee for a full detailed inspection after hearing some weird sounds from the motor (and to get a «second opinion»). They have great customer service! Staff are friendly and very professional.
They are extremely honest (will not fake something wrong with your car to make a profit) and VERY knowledgeable! Prices are reasonable and industry standard. They were so great and above all HONEST about what needed to be done and repaired that I am now changing mechanics.
If you need an amazing, honest, reliable, knowledgeable mechanic — this is the place to go.
And to the owners and staff at Grandview Tire & Auto Centre: Keep up the good work! You are all superb!

I had a slow leaky tire. They were able to get me in right away. The pricing was very fair. Jordan was a rock star. He was able to fix my tire 24 hours before their original ETA. I highly recommend this place.

I had some work done by them on my car around six months ago, had a issue with my gas tank. There was a lingering gas smell after I filled up, that went away after the tank got down to ¾ full. I took it back to them a couple weeks ago and Ed didn’t even check the warranty date. He said if it is a little over the six month labour warranty it was no problem, and they would take care of it. They replaced the gas tank seal for free, (around $ 200). It was so refreshing to see a service company stand by their work and be happy to do so. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Alright, where to start…
My van hadn’t been working for 2 months, it had been starting fine and driving without a problem. But then gradually it was harder to start until the point where it eventually didn’t turn over at all and I was unable to start it at all. I had a friend come with a voltage tester and he (having more experience with vehicles than I) determined that it was the starter. We attempted to give it a good hit to see if that would solve the problem as oddly I’ve been told that this can sometimes be a solution, but unfortunately the van didn’t start.
I had waited for 2 months saving some excess money for what I knew would be an expensive visit to the mechanic. I shopped around for prices but eventually turned to Unilocal for assistance in choosing the place to take my vehicle (as I had never before required the services of a mechanic after moving to Vancouver)
I decided on going to Grandview Tire as the reviews were all overwhelmingly positive.
I called them up and spoke with Ed, described the age and make of my vehicle and the amateur prognosis had been, he quoted me a price for the parts and labor which came to $ 260.00. Having been worried that the repair would cost potentially $ 300+ I felt quite fortunate that it wouldn’t cost more.
I called BCAA to tow my van to their shop and after a quick chat I handed over the keys and was off to work. Ed had said that he would call me later and I advised him that I would be at work and that I could call just before closing time. When I called, Ed informed me that it was actually the starters solenoid and not the starter itself and he quoted me a price of around $ 190.00 (if I remember correctly). At that point the amount was nearly $ 70.00 less than the original amount quoted so needless to say at that point I was pretty happy as I am on a limited budget. He then said that I could come pick up the van anytime during business hours the next day.
So I headed down in the afternoon the following day and Ed actually showed me the broken solenoid, explained its function and told me the bolt had come loose on the one side, that they tightened it in the hopes that would solve the problem but eventually had to sheer the bolt to get it out and replace it. We then talked at length, my asking for a quote on back tires, inquiring about a place to buy weatherstripping and then eventually asking to buy new wiper blades from him which he ended up ordering because they didn’t have the ones I needed in stock. Ed put in an order for the wiper blades and I will actually be picking them up after the weekend for quite an agreeable price as well at $ 18.00 per blade .
So…, long story short the cost of the repairs and labor to get my van running was far less then I had originally anticipated. Ed was kind, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. At this point I will be returning to Grandview Tire for any ongoing concerns with my vehicle (I most likely be back to order the tires he had quoted me and inquire about other parts to fix the van up in the future).
I’d highly recommend their services to anyone having issues with their vehicle and can’t thank them enough for their time and effort. Most definitely a five star experience.

They take the effort to address your needs to get your car in good shape.
Honest and informative. I came in for an alignment and was told they couldn’t do it right away because a steering mechanism (tie rod end) was worn out and proceeding without first replacing the tie rod end would be a waste of money. So I replaced the tie rod ends myself and brought it back for an alignment. If you race autocross the mechanic here is an expert in that as well. As an X-​mechanic I trust these guys.

These guys know what they are doing. From the very moment I called to schedule an appointment, I got nothing but extremely friendly and helpful service. I brought my car in for a routine maintenance and new tires. They got me in early on a Saturday and had me out of there in a little over two hours.
My Daisy is now rockin’ new shoes and feelin’ fresh thanks to Grandview Tire!

Recently my car had been making some clunking noises. My boyfriend took my car to the dealership where we bought it for an estimate on the work that needed to be done. We were charged $ 70 for the inspection and told that the problem was with the steering column. It was going to cost about $ 1000 to fix.
Wanting a second opinion I decided to come to Grandview Tire and Auto Repair based on the Unilocal Reviews. After a test-​drive and inspection (for which I was not charged) I was told that the problem had to do with the sway bar brushings and it would cost about $ 160 including tax to fix. They repaired my car that day and I was back on the road in a few hours. Needless to say I am so happy to have saved a lot of money and I will be returning next time I have a problem with my car!

These guys are absolutely amazing. Had my clutch master cylinder break down on the Sunday before Thanksgiving this year. I was supposed to work on the holiday and had to take the day off with no access to any shops do to holiday closures. I got them on the line first thing Tuesday morning, they provided me with a reasonable quote within minutes over the phone (while the ford fast lane mechanics called me back 2 hours later). Nobody, including grandview said they could get me in until Friday and I was sweating as I was falling behind on my work. I explained my situation of being self employed and needing my vehicle to work and the guys at the shop snuck me into a cancellation’s spot. Got the work done same day at a reasonable price. These will be my go to boys from now on.

I went to Grandview Tire and Auto Centre after reading the Unilocal reviews. I needed two tires, and I needed them quickly! The staff were awesome — polite, efficient, and helpful. The work was done much faster than I had dared to hope for, and the price was reasonable/​affordable for good quality.
I will definitely keep this company as my go-​to for auto repair and servicing.

When we moved to town we tried a few other mechanics/​tire shops with no luck until friends recommended this place. I am glad they did. Prices are reasonable, the work is excellent, service is prompt and friendly. We have been using them now for 6+ years.
Most others here seem impressed too so read what they say and visit the shop. You will be glad you did.

After our exhaust almost fell off thanks to hitting the unmarked B.C. Ferries speed bumps and uneven roads of Bowen Island we searched for a repair. Estimates were all over the map up to $ 1,000! We decided to go with a local repair ship Grandview Auto of Commercial Dr. Vancouver. Anthony let us know on a Saturday that they were booked right to Tuesday…‘but we could drop it by to have someone look at it and if they needed to order parts’…they would have that done before the appointment. We dropped the car off and decided to have breakfast at the local Diner. Ed called us a bit later and told us the flange gasket had disappeared and that the two flange bolts were very rusted to the studs… our car is a 1979! He said there was a chance the studs could break but they would do their best. We figured that we would be returning our car Tuesday for the repair but we were called again a little later and Ed let us know that the car was finished. They had installed a new gasket and re-​secured the exhaust flange to the manifold. We returned to the Shop and found our Invoice was very reasonable. Ed showed us the evidence of the old gasket that had come off due to age and he rough driving. We were very very happy with our experience both with the Staff at Grandview Auto and the quality of the repair we are enjoying with out any issues.

I’m super impressed with Grandview. I had been looking for a good repair shop for a while and I picked them based on their great reviews on Unilocal,and emailed them from their site to ask a question about why my clutch had been feeling strange for a couple of days. I promptly got a reply from Ed the next day that detailed a couple of problems that could be going on and suggesting I bring it in to get a free inspection to target the problem for certain.
The next day, my car died in a parking lot and I got it towed directly to their lot. Ed remembered my email and said they would take a look at it and let me know ASAP. He called me the next day and told me my slave cylinder had gone (common problem in my Chevy model from what I could tell by googling it) and told me it was going to be around $ 1500 to fix. Because I’m a student I knew it would take a little bit of time to magic some money for that kind of repair, but he told me I could take as much time as I needed and call him back later to let him know whether or not we should go ahead. He provided me with a detailed written estimate of the cost breakdown via email and never pressured me to hurry up or get my car off the lot. I ended up going ahead with the repair and it was done faster than I had expected! When I came in to pick it up, he took me into the back to show me the parts that had failed and explained exactly what went wrong to make my car chug and die, then even got his head technician that worked on my car to come and talk to me and tell me what he did. They even readjusted my gear box for free because they noticed some resistance getting into first and second, and said if I didn’t like the adjustment then I could just bring it back in and they would put it back. I didn’t even know there was something wrong, I thought it was just a quirk of the car!
Overall, my car runs like a dream now. After several nightmare-​ish experiences with other chain repair shops, I’m never going anywhere else. I’m always greeted promptly when I walk in, even if Ed is helping someone else at the moment, and I never have to wait long. I’m definitely a fan.

Grandview Tire continues to amaze me. They kept my 25 year old Ford in superb running condition, and I just purchased a new to me Nissan from one of their customers.
I still had the pre-​sale inspection done, even though they had done the work on the car for years. Bought the car, took a week long road trip with no problems.
I’m now driving a luxury couch on wheels vehicle! OMG.
Bonus — GT is a diverse, totally accepting shop. You know what I mean.

Finding someone to work on your car is often a hit or miss. Grandview has always been a hit for me.
Grandview was recommended to me several years ago and was immediately added to my speed dial. They are straight shooters and have come to my rescue on too many occasions to list here. I’ve never been disappointed.
Recently I noticed I had a headlight out. Drove my car in and was out in less than 30 minutes. It was probably a shorter amount of time in fixing my car but time actually flew by while I was there.
