I like to keep dim sum in the freezer as an fall back dinner option and I used to stop at Gah Lok Dim Sum on Fraser Street every two week or so to restock. They moved to Powell Street a few months back so thought I would finally make the trek to the Downtown Eastside. It has a similar set up as the previous location on Fraser(looks like the same freezers) and nice to see the staff in the back room making the product. Unfortunately they were out of two of the three items I came for… very basic items. The new location is in a very sketchy area, so think I will be searching for another establishment to restock my freezer closer to my ‘hood. Open to suggestions. And I will not be returning.
