The poutine here is excellent! The variety is awesome too. I could eat here every day and not get tired of it! They double cook their fries so they are crispy on the outside and soft inside(like a baked potato). With 16 types of sauces you can’t go wrong! Check it out for yourself!

Definitely one of my go to places for poutine when I’m in the area. I usually mix it up with each visit but I really love their kimchi beef poutine. Only complaint was the gravy wasn’t the best. Always love that the guy that I usually see there actually smiles unlike some poutine places.

okay tbh the food isn’t 5⁄5 but the guy who owns the place is great. LOVEDHIM. Very good at keeping a friendly conversation and making you feel welcome. His food is best described as drunk college food. I can see myself craving this after I’ve had a few. He does variations on poutine and gives you a taste of frites and poutine mixed with different cultures. I tried the original poutine(which was eh. get it? because canadians say, «eh») and the kimchi frites. definitely liked the kimchi frites over the poutine. highly recommend!!! get a jumbo and share with a friend, or let the nice man earn some money and regular sizes each!

Disappointed. Normally I don’t write a bad review the first time I go somewhere new but this place bugged me. I ordered two things a bacon poutine and a chicken club sandwich both were underwhelming and the service was poor. Where to start. False advertising, it is personal now! When I order something that clearly states what it is like a BLT, I don’t expect to get a roast beef on rye. So when I order a BACON poutine, don’t give me diced ham, bacon is a cured meat, ham is roasted, both can be smoked but they have very different flavours. Gravy should not be thinner then water. Fries should not be undercooked. Sad that such a simple thing can go so wrong. On to the chicken club sandwich, to make this sandwich look bigger they use a dinner role as a bun. The chicken nice and crispy but there was more breaking then chicken. Oh and did I mention the liberal sweet sweet mustard sauce that was all over this thing! I picked up the sandwich and the bun was soaking in it, inside and out, I could not taste anything else but the sauce. No where on the menu did it say anything about that sauce, and the server never asked me what I wanted or did not want on my sandwich. And the final slap on the face, the two guys running the kitchen never even bothered to come out of the kitchen, it was too much for one of them to take my order at the front counter. The same guy who made my food also passed my the debit terminal without cleaning his hands or wearing any gloves. Someone needs to learn some food safe and customer service.

Phenomenal. The best poutine I’ve ever had. I ordered the Kalbi Beef and Kimchi poutine, and was blown away. The proportions of meet, kimchi, fries, and cheese curds was perfect. The gravy left a bit to be desired. It was very thin and frankly greasy. However, it did nothing to detract from the meal which was truly impressive. Would definitely come again.

YESSSSS. Oh my god. Praise this establishment and all of its deliciousness. Where is the 6 star option? My girlfriend and I got what is essentially the medium sized order of the spicy beef poutine. It is like Korean fusion poutine(also with regular poutine options for those who lack a sense of fun and adventure) and it is unreal. I wish I wasn’t just stopping by for a visit so I could try everything on the menu. I will be back here no doubt.

Immediately following a disappointing fries experience nearby, I was hungry for redemption. Frites alleared to be a new little shop, and despite a lack of traffic, the pictures looked appealing and my friends and I were pretty sure nothing could be worse than the lukewarm mess we had just disposed of. Were we glad we tried this place out! The fries were hot, fresh, and crispy, topped with a generous amount of kimchi beef and spicy sauce(alas, I should have tried a classic gravy and cheese curds for a better comparison). The flavour of the topping is definitely strong enough that you have to eat a big hot fry with it otherwise it might be too strong on its own, but together they are a heavenly match. Will return for a «classic» poutine option(which if it’s just as good will get that fifth star)!

One of my favourite quick lunch spots downtown right on Granville Street! I live Poutine and always trust the staff working to choose a good sauce layered for me. So far my favourites are the Jamaican Jerk, and the Peanut Sauce. Four stars is only because sometimes there is only one staff member working in the evenings, and it can take a long time to get the order. also, a few times the sauce has been incorrect. But they are always happy to help and get a new one for you.

Not the best poutine but it is OK for a quick fix. We had the traditional and it came with a good amount of gravy and cheese curds. Not too salty and service was very quick.

Best poutine by far, had the bacon and pulled pork. Fresh fries and ingredients a must. They also have chicken waffle sandwiches

Their pictures from their website looked amazing, so we came here on a sunny Saturday to try their chicken waffles sandwiches.(By the way, they do not have the fish sandwich) Both looked good, but literally, maybe 1 chicken nugget for the sandwich. The rest was just lettuce and a tomato in a chipotle mayo(you get to choose the sauce by the way), so it tasted very odd when you bit into the waffle with no chicken. The place itself looks like a hangover, dirty, lots of flies, sauce stains on the tables and floors. Kind of gross when you pay more attention. For $ 9 a sandwich, it really wasn’t worth it, but it looks good for pictures. If you do come, take it to go, but remember to carry your box with the lid off, otherwise your waffle will become soggy.

Tasty poutine, wish there was more pulled pork. Other than that, it was great. The service was really good too.

This wasn’t here on my last visit to BC, so I had to check it out. Frites, poutine, and Belgian waffle sandwiches on the menu. I got the Double-Layered Poutine this time. No gourmet toppings, just the traditional stuff. Great fries. Very flavorful gravy — that I wish I could have enjoyed a tad more of. Lots of curds(no squeaky ones). Overall, I’d still give this a thumbs up. Since I love spicy stuff, I wanted to try their«suicide» sauce, thinking I’d at least get a nice kick. This tasted like Frank’s RedHot, and wouldn’t be surprised if it was. Guess I have to go elsewhere to have my face set on fire. But I do appreciate that they have a lot of sauces to choose from. The Belgian waffle sandwiches actually look real good, but that will hopefully be another visit. An OK place to visit. Hopefully the sandwich could bump it to a four-star rating if I return.

Yay! Frites is now on Granville and Nelson close to all the clubs. I had the poutine and it was decent. It wasn’t the best I’ve had though and I can think of other places where the gravy was just… better tasting? I like that it looks like a professional franchise and the cut outs in the table are very unique to this place. The order board is clean and this location is open pretty late to serve the clubbing crowd. This place does have seating inside which is a plus especially when it’s cold out. I wish I could give this another star, but something was missing on my last visit and I’m not quite sure what… and it had something to do with the taste of the food I had. Just can’t quite put my finger on it. Sorry Frites, I’m giving you 2 stars for now.

I’ve been here a few times on a junk food binge before a concert. It’s not the best fries in the world and I only come here when I have either a groupon, social shopper or an entertainment book coupon. Good customer service, so so on the creations themselves. It is a better option that most things on Granville even for the price market.

Great customer service, great music, great food, fast ordering and I got my food very quickly after. This place is great for the kids. They have lots of really generous promotions here, it’s not like some other places where they only give you like 10% off. The fries come with your choice of the many great sauces they have here. You could come here every day and try something new and interesting, which I love, as a french fry enthusiast! The crispy chicken waffle sandwich is to die for! :) Enjoy!

Quite disappointing! We had groupon thank goodness! The only saving grace was the nice young guy at cashier who was quite helpful. However, the good things ended there. The fries were just boring. I got the regular poutine to calibrate with other poutine places, the gravy was just blah and cheese curds very plain. I also got the hotdog with chili toping. Honestly I could’ve gotten the hotdog and chili at 7 – 11 for 10% of the price and would’ve tasted the exact same. Overall VERY disappointing, for a place that is touting itself as a poutine joint they should be very disappointed. #embarrassed #fail #WillNOTbereturning

I really wanted to like this place, but I likely won’t be going back, not for the poutine at least. I must admit that I was one of the many who bought the Groupon, and it’s the only reason that I went back three times. I didn’t try their full menu and please, if you keep reading, only consider this as a review of their poutine. First of all, the fries themselves are quite delicious. The meat poutines however, are average at best. They are not as good as the local competition(mainly Belgian Fries and Belle Patate). I had the Pulled Pork and found the bbq sauce to be too sweet. Had the chicken poutine and found that the chicken was dry and overcooked. Generally both were over-salted. On the up side, the staff is fantastic, and the space is very clean.

The traditional poutine was good. The pulled pork poutine was not my favorate at all. Tried the crispy chicken sandwich on a waffle … Yummmm. Very filling and taste great with wasabi mayo.

* New Fry Spot * I have to start off by saying, «Silly name.» There. I said it. Silly name. Drawing up images of a sexual friendship and combining that with fries just doesn’t do it for me. I guess I’m not into fries in «that way.» Glad I got that out of the way. Taking over the old Dougie Dog’s location( ) — which as a side note was definitely not a loss — this new shop did a bit of a reno. They seem to have cleaned up the place, added a washroom for customers, and generally made the small space more inviting. I ordered the traditional poutine($ 5.99), and it came presented in a closed box with the fork stuck on with a promotional sticker on top. Very clean packaging for take-out. But I was eating in… I guess when dealing with fries with benefits instead of a steady fry relationship you take what you get… Anyhoo… Closing the package led to some pretty extreme heat buildup inside and all of the curds were heavily melted. So there was no squeak at all on the curds unfortunately. Not sure if they were fresh enough to have been squeaky before being melted. But I’m guessing not. Disappointing curds. The gravy was a bit saltier than I like, but very smooth. Not bad. The fries themselves were the highlight. They were a bit thicker cut and crunchy on the outside. Here is a shot: I likely wouldn’t order poutine here again. But I may pop in for some fries with one of their multiple dipping sauces in the future if in the area and feeling munchy. Perhaps that is what the name truly means — a good spot for a «fries call» if in the area and«in the mood?» Hm… Silly name.
