These guys are the king of sandwiches. Their sandwiches are so tasty that it makes it worth the price. The size of the sandwiches is large too! Great portions overall. Even the salads are amazing. It gets busy, but they have a great system. You can also call ahead to order for pick up! I like to order the vegetarian sandwich.

I didn’t know what to choose so the girl at cashier recommended pear baguette. It was delicious. Beautiful balance of the sweetness from pear, savory from prosciutto and creaminess from blue Brie. Definitely a taste of joy! Love it.

Went in on a weekday lunch with a friend and it was PACKED. We were going to order our meal to go(apple cider and pear with prosciutto salad), but the group at the table cleared out. The food was really good, especially the seasonal drink. Water was available not he side for self-service amongst the cutlery and other things. I would say it’s a bit cramped however and doesn’t offer wifi so not really a place to sit down and work if necessary.

Average place — good sandwiches, overpriced soup, and surly service. I ordered the total vegetarian baguette with a side of butternut squash masala soup which came to about $ 14, which is expensive for a place with self-serve coffee and no washrooms. The soup I received to-go, and when I opened it back at my office it was only a half-full container, which had me pretty peeved considering it was nearly $ 4 for a «cup» of soup. The service is SLOOOOOOOW. I decided to check this place out at 1:30pm assuming it would be less busy than the lunch rush, and it was. Only 3 people in line, and after placing my order I waited almost 20 minutes for my sandwich. This was confusing considering there were 3 people in the back dedicated to making sandwiches. Oh, even the Subway sandwich artists wear gloves — why can’t these people? When the lady who finished making me my sandwich handed it to me, I tried hard to avoid looking at her fingernails — ewww. Hipsters everywhere need to get over themselves — cleanliness is never overrated! Overall not worth it — hygiene wise or time-wise — for a good sandwich. I will NOT be back.

Pear and brie. Match made in heaven. Pear and BLUE brie. Soulmates. The original plan was to share a half a Pear baguette, then to move on to other pastures for different eats. But, we were left craving for more, so we ended up ordering another! BLUE brie(a hybrid of blue cheese and brie) definitely gave an edge to the flavor profile of this baguette! A must try! The only thing that might have kicked it up a notch is having a soup option on the menu for the cold days(soup not served on weekends). The ambiance at this place was great too… everything from the rustic décor with mismatched chairs and tables that look as if they came from a few different kitchen sets to the 5 gals working there who looked like they were best friends. Charming!

After reading so many positive reviews about the pear and blue brie baguette, I had to see if it lived up to its name, and oh my goodness it definitely did! I showed up a few minutes before they opened and had to wait about 5 – 10 minutes once the doors opened for the freshly made baguettes to arrive(which are delivered fresh each morning). I was in no rush so I didn’t mind. There’s something very satisfying about seeing the freshly baked baguettes unloaded and knowing you are getting the freshest sandwich available. Not the type of sandwich that left me feeling full, but it could easily function as a light meal between breakfast, lunch, or dinner for those who have a bigger appetite. All the ingredients complimented each other perfectly and honestly, each bite was a delicious treat. If you’re looking for a quality baguette, eat here! Presentation: A+ Quality of Food: A+

I dream about the pear, blue brie, prosciutto and roasted walnuts baguette! I can’t describe in words how amazing it is. Normally I’m not a fan of sweet and savory foods, but the sweetness of the pear, creamy melt-in-your-mouth goodness of the brie, and saltiness of the prosciutto is perfection. If you want to eat in, come before or after the lunch rush otherwise you may have to wait awhile. It’s worth the wait though, I promise!

If you’re ever wondering around downtown Vancouver streets and in the mood to stay warm this Fall/Winter stop by Finch’s tea and coffee house. It is a unique and cozy little coffee house in the Gastown area. It’s hard to leave the house during the cold winter days but this place makes you feel as if you were still in bed. Just being in there gives you a homie warm feeling. The décor is filled with antiques. From the table lamps to the mirror and plants on the walls. A perfect place to have a latte and catch up with a friend. Even a cute little day date Also great for a quick bite too. My favorite thing is to go for just coffee or soup. So yummy! The homemade soups are tasty and served in perfect temperature with a fresh baguette on the side.

5 stars for service, 5 stars for eco friendly priorities, 3 stars for food, 4 stars for drinks. Summary: Hipster, small, super popular I got here a little before lunchtime and ordered an applewood smoked cheddar and a latte. They took my name, and I had just gotten settled in my seat before an employee came out with my baguette sandwich! Super quick service, and very friendly staff. The latte took a little longer, but still within a reasonable amount of time. The sandwich had lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and LOTS of cheddar– a little too much for my taste bc that was the strongest tasting ingredient. It was also slightly dry than what I like, but I think that’s expected at a place that’s so hipster. I’m not a latte expert, but it was pretty decent. There’s only 7 or so tables for seating, and so when noon rolled around, the place was so jam packed with a line out the door. This made it very hard for customers to squeeze between the counter and tables to the drink pick up section of the counter, as well as for the employees who deliver food to the tables. Also at the drink pick up counter they have lemon water and cucumber water for self serve– I tried the cucumber and it was nice and refreshing. They have a sign on the wall above the trash and compost bins that explain what should go into which– huge thumbs up for being so eco friendly!

One of my fave lunch places in the city. I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for Finch’s yet. This is not just any old sandwich place. This is THE sandwich place. Think of the best ingredients — ripe avocado, buttery soft brie, crisp greens, salty prosciutto — all piled artfully on a soft baguette. And when I say artfully, I mean it. You know how subway dubs their employees«sandwich artists»? That moniker should be bestowed upon the talented folks at Finch’s. I’ve never had a sandwich that didn’t look like a work of art. The space is also really charming and the platform tables by the window are my favourite spots. But, be warned, it’s a busy place and seating can be hard to come by. Pro-tip: Call ahead to place your order to save some time. You’ll still need to line up, but at least you’ll get your sandwich right away, neatly wrapped in butcher paper and twine.

Just ok. My latte was a huge disappointment and the space was tiny. Their coffee is self-serve, which is a pet peeve of mine. When I pay to get coffee somewhere, I want it prepared the good ol’ fashioned way. Their sandwiches are served on white bread, which I’m not a fan of and their egg options were boiled. Ugh. I agree with some of the other reviewers — this place isn’t all that. There are many other options in the area that blow this place out of the water.

Really liked this place; the sandwiches are so tasty, the coffee was good, and you’ve gotta love the vintage feel to the place. I got The Continental baguette, which came with prosciutto(*drool*), cheddar, tomato, lettuce and boiled egg. I opted out of the red onion. This sandwich was delicious, and my compliments to the maker: they really knew how to use black pepper. I was also surprised by the quality of the prosciutto, as I didn’t know what to expect after just moving here from Europe. It was fresh and super tasty, just like the rest of the fillings. The coffee was also excellent, with some nice latte art to boot. I’d highly recommend this place for a lunch.

This place was in my bookmark for a long time but I used to postpone going there just because the location is not so friendly to find a parking spot on weekends, but I finally had a chance to try and I loved this place. It gets quite full during the weekdays at lunch time, but it doesn’t seem hard to get a seat. I ordered a delicious Avocado Salad with Prosciutto. The salad also came with a delicious bread with butter. My sister also had same dish as me and she also loved it. Besides that, I love the cozy environment added to a hipster vintage décor. I definitely plan to go back soon to try more of the their menu.

Oh, yum! *_* I’m so glad we stumbled upon this place. Our first day in the city and we find this gem… the day sure started off great! So, they offer sandwiches, which are *very* hard to handle(that’s half a star off), cause they are stuffed with toppings. Not that I mind a lot of toppings(that’s very welcome actually), but it would be great if the bread was a bit wider to accommodate them all. Then it would be easier to eat and not mess the whole place up. You get them wrapped in some sort of brown paper though, but that doesn’t really help with the mess. The bread is a proper french baguette, I kid you not — as you know, I greatly appreciate actual European bread, so this really hit my sweet spot. Our order was Avocado Walnuts Edam Cucumber Lettuce Baguette and Applewood Smoked Cheddar Prosciutto Tomato Lettuce Baguette(I hope I got those two right). Yeah, it was just as stuffed as it sounds. But *DELICIOUS*. Even if you’re hungry, you wouldn’t be able to eat two of them(at least not the ones with avocado). The staff was okay(it was 10am in the morning, and there were no lines), but that’s obviously a rare treat, judging by other reviewers. It’s a bit old fashioned, hipster-ish, vintage,… kind of place, but I liked it. I imagine it might be difficult to get a sitting, if there’s a bunch of people present, cause there’s not that many tables. The downside of it is, they have no bathroom(that’s the other half a star off). There’s a public one two blocks away, but that shouldn’t be an excuse, even if people just come and take away their orders. They have free WiFi, if you’re planning on staying longer and working there(it could be a cool place to do so, at least in the morning, if it’s not too crowded). I’d come again, for sure.

Loved the pear, Brie, and prosciutto sandwich so much the first time I tried it, I went back again the next day! It was the perfect balance with the creaminess of the cheese, the salty prosciutto, and sweet pears. The crunch of the walnuts just puts it over the top! I loved the funky, vintage décor. I reminds me of a little French Café. I will definitely be coming back! Probably again and again!

Finch’s has always been one of my favourite places for lunch in Gastown. As everyone else, the pear blue brie prosciutto baguette was an experience like no other the first time it touched my tongue. Only once have I tried something different, and as it was still good, I’m still a fan of the pear blue brie. The baguette itself looks like a piece of artwork, I almost don’t want to eat it. But then I devour it. It’s a small expensive sandwich, I admit. But it’s worth every penny.

Whooooo Four stars! Great vintage décor and nice setting. Beautiful view of downtown core which I like. WHAMMY! RAD! DELISH! Pear and brie sandwich and salad! Their cappuccino taste like Americano(bitter taste) so… Not da best… Often so-so to bad customers service… Kinda of hang over face and annoyed staffs… You know If you don’t like dealing directly with the public… Maybe some people should go for call center job instead… This said I like many of their salad, sandwiches and the location… As they’re always exception… Not all the staff are MEH… So… YAY! So I’m still going there as often then I can…

They’re obviously doing something right, to have that ridiculous line at lunch. Portions are huge. Good flavors, though sometimes it feels like dishes could be refined a bit from the pound each of three ingredients approach. And I wish I could get something a little more conventional sometimes. Just a chicken sandwich? Forget the prosciutto, what’s your take on a chicken sandwich, Finchy?

I am thoroughly convinced that Finch’s is run by a group of suppressed artists because they have the prettiest looking sandwiches I have ever laid eyes on. So pretty I(almost) hesitate to eat it, which never happens in my book. Allow me to jump the bandwagon as I wax poetic over their Prosciutto, Pear, Blue Brie & Walnut Baguette. This is my go-to sandwich that I get every time I drop in and it has yet to fail me. Do the fillings threaten to squeeze out with every bite due to their impractical, albeit aesthetic, placement? Yes. Do I mind? No. Because every bite is an explosion of perfectly balanced flavor. And because this immaculately crafted sandwich looks like a piece of art. The fact that this café has no wifi and closes tragically early(5pm. Do their typical customers not have jobs to work??), yet still has earned a 5-star review from me really goes to show how much I love everything else about Finch’s.
