The lady who waxes eyebrows here is awesome. Not the most aesthetically pleasing shop but if you want eyebrows waxed, go for it.

Giving this place one star is being generous. I decided to try Fantasy Nails on Hastings because it is close to home so I booked an appointment and only had to wait 5 minutes when I arrived to be seated. The lady that was removing my shellac was in her 70’s and was very unpleasant. The process of removing my polish took 45MINUTES! She would apply the acetone & foil to one hand and walk away. 10 minutes later she came back and scrapped the polish off. She then foiled my left hand walked away. She wasn’t busy or helping anyone else! When she scrapped the polish off she removed layers of my actual nail. At this point my nails were flimsy(which I always have strong, hard nails). After 45 minutes I asked how much longer this was going to take and was told the only one that could do polish was the guy helping another client. I waited another 10 minutes before he came over. He did a decent job but all in all it took over an hour and half. That week three of my nails broke right off and 6 have chipped. Save yourself the time and money and your nails from being ruined. If a nail technician knows what they are doing they will not ruin your nails. I’m surprised this place is still in business because I can’t see anyone returning.

The ladies are very sweet and fun to talk with. Because I like little more relaxing atmosphere and more colour selection, I probably would not get my nails done here again. I would recommend them for really quick, cheap hair cuts(especially for kids /men).

I have had many shellac nail polishes but never one that has lasted as long as Fantasy nails! Seriously I am usually so diappoined a few days later when they chip but miraculously this last one was good for almost three weeks! For someone as active as me… That is awesome! My eyebrows were waxed beautifully also!

How imaginable it is to be in the salon being aware of a story on the tv about an unsanitary nail salon and all the disgusting cross contamination and issues discovered by an under cover reporter in the states, than to see first hand the same thing here. The confused Asian woman who was using worm looking latex gloves went from doing the pedicure to handling my debit card payment. Then when I politely grossly commented she touched everything including the paper appointment book with the ugly dirty gloves. Derek the oriental man who had just filled my gel nails commented to my disgust by saying the tv show grossness is only a problem in the states. Huh? I say no its here too. Then I realise nothing visible has been sterilised or disinfected and no systems seem evident. In fact only the small blue fluid glass near the sink sporting a worn disinfectant label appears to be in the right direction. I am NEVER coming back and don’t recommend this.

I love this place. I usually end up making nail appointments last minute & both times I’ve wanted to go here– Derek fit me in no problem. I always get shellac french manicure and he does an amazing job! I have to agree that he is very skilled with the nail polish brush– my manicure always looks flawless. The price is reasonable and the job is exceptional, I definitely recommend Derek for your nail needs!

Derek was able to take me at 530 for a quick polish change(an absolute STEAL at $ 8.00). I had to wait a few minutes, but well worth it. I wasn’t expecting a semi-manicure at all — nails shaped, buffed and then polished. Derek is probably the most skilled with a nail polish brush I’ve ever seen. I’ll be back, no question!

Oct. 5. Derek is really great at painting nails. The topcoat they use seems to make my manicure last longer. I enjoyed a nice massage in the massaging chair for my pedicure followed by a foot rub. It was very busy on the Friday afternoon I went, so i suggest going during the week. And $ 8 for a polish change, cannot beat that!

I came here for a pedicure and in total it took about 20 minutes from start to finish of the pedicure + drying time. I know I’ve complained in the past about having to wait too much at some nail salons, but I didn’t mean that I would want an express pedicure at full price. The polish job was okay but I would have expected more buffing and leg massage. Everything was really fast, without a whole lot of effort in the foot scrubbing. I wanted to have a design put on there but I didn’t bother asking for one because I just got the impression that the girl didn’t want to spend a whole lot of time on me. So that was that.
