Specialties
Eternal Abundance is proud to be an all-organic grocer and vegan café, prioritizing local and fair trade whenever possible, and seeking out direct purchasing relationships with local farmers and artisan producers. We strive to provide a space for exploration of healthy living, through providing affordable, top quality, cruelty-free wholefood organic food for home preparation or in-house enjoyment; food preparation classes on preparing raw & cooked plant-based meals; literature on various healthy living topics; as well as hosting numerous community events.
History
Established in 2003.
Eternal Abundance was started by a guy named Ralph, who had two Eternal Abundance stores in Toronto. He was encouraged to move to Vancouver to offer something that Vancouver was lacking — an all organic grocery store — which he opened in 2003. Shortly after EA opened in 2003, an acquaintance of Ralph’s from Toronto approached him about installing a café inside the store, and soon after came Rooted Café, run by Jamie (now Head Cook at EA) and Aaron Ash, who later started Gorilla Food! After running EA for 7 years, Ralph was diagnosed with liver cancer, and sold EA in the summer of 2010. The current owners are strong advocates of a healthier, more compassionate, greener world, and work day in and day out to provide visitors with nutrient-dense delicious affordably priced organic vegan food.

Alex B.
Manager
Alex was a customer long before she started working at EA. During her undergraduate years pursuing a degree in Conservation Biology she discovered her passion for food and concern for the food system, in particular food security, food miles, and the ecological impacts of food choices, particularly the animal agricultural industry. After having spent a couple years volunteering at the Vancouver Farmers Market she increased her knowledge further by completing an organic farming apprenticeship in the Okanagan in 2010. She’s devoted to a vegan lifestyle and is very fortunate to be able to share her ethics of organic, cruelty-free, and local food choices with customers!
